    nice tutorial. hope brakes are made with such quality they are so nice to work on . A pleasure to keep working well. I Got some Hayes Dominions on my new bike . People keep telling how good they are , they may be just as good if not better. They are however very ugly and don't have the same presence on my bike as the hopes. I will give them 1 month to impress me otherwise the hopes will be moving in.

    Hey question on the BB. With the ISCG tab adapter did you need to remove a spacer from the bottom bracket? Or does it still have one with the ISCG?

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey no have not removed any spacers on the bb. Did have to remove the spacers on the actual ISCG bash guard mount recently though since I mounted an Ochain device and the bolts were rubbing against the backside of it.

    Long term. how do you like this tool and do you still use it? did you end up replacing the multi tool?

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism หลายเดือนก่อน

      What's good Matt! Long term, I still use it, and it does the job well, Never ended up switching the mini tool, I just bring a full multi tool on rides where risk of bike maintenance is high, This thing is not 100% compatible to my frame however, even with mods. So I've had to move the air cartridges as they kept hitting the linkage

    • @mattx3190
      @mattx3190 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Frorideism oh man!! I have the exact same frame on build and was hoping your change was going to prevent the rubbing. So despite all that it still rubbed?

    • @Frorideism
      @Frorideism หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mattx3190Haha shit, Yeah I had to move the cartridge plus if i have the air valve on the middle it also hits the linkage when I bottom out. It's literally just kiiiiinda touching on a full bottom out so probably fine, i rode like that for a while even. I got the cartridge alongside the bottle holder now and air valve cap in a frame pouch with snacks etc, I ride with no bags. You can make it work! Just not a perfect fit even with the mods

      @@Frorideism The kit threaded into the old brake line, then I pulled it through from the rear. I connected the front part of the house then pulled it back through the internal routing. Super easy and worked first time. I've always run Shimano brakes, but these Hopes are better. I love the adjustability and the lever feel is amazing. It's really light and quick. No mush or sticky lever.

    • @JubeProductions
      @JubeProductions 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@tomcunliffe4311 I just went on Amazon and searched "bike internal cable routing tool". There are a bunch of different ones. I ordered a generic one with different adapters. Park Tool makes one but it was more expensive. It comes with a nylon cord that you can attach adapters to depending on what type of cable you are routing. I used one that threaded into the old 5mm brake line and also into the new hope lines. I just pulled the old cable out, with the new cable attached and then the new cables were routed. it was super easy.

    Imo they should have waited releasing the cranks until they have tested them properly. But mistakes happen, maybe they were too exited, so this is why I always wait until I know a company got the kinks sorted. Unless it's an unique product I know is gonna be good. Or just have to try, like shoes. To me it looked like you had stress cracks developing, great they replaced it before it failed. I've seen comments that the holes make stress points and it eventually will fail. I don't know. I guess it depends on the loads it gets and design. Definitely use Loctite 243 on the bolts to make a bond between the bolts and the crank, this will keep it secure even trough rapid temp changes and hard riding, but of course eventually it wears out, and might break the bond on a massive impact.

    I so wish I'd thought about the piston removal sequence before servicing my E4 brakes. It's really really important. Once one piston pops out you lose hydraulic pressure and you're left wondering how to remove the others. You definitely have to remove the pistons on the inside first - definitely.

    Do yourself the favor...be reminded that anything machined that has holes in it is definitely not optimized for leverage forces. If you need Ti cranks then opt for Ewings or other Euro made similar cranks. They will be able to take many hits and survive almost anything and they cost less, weigh less and to can be anodized. I so want the 5 DEV Ti stem but that has not even been subjected to and ISO safety test of any sort...like most stems are hit with a 200,000 to 300,000 twist rapid twisting and flexing using handlebars by machine. If you watched the Olympic track race where the Ti handle bar failed it happened so fast it was crazy. That was 3dprinted Ti track bar of the same grade if Ti, but my point is you end up begging for testing.

    • @5DEV
