April is and always will be an Irish Red Head with pale skin and large br...ambitions... yeah... ambitions. Giving April more agency (IE: ninjitsu training) was good character growth. Her relationship with Casey Jones was better than the inter-species relationship between her and one of the turtles. You can't change those things without fundamentally changing April.

Jenn was not a bad character but was way to much story revolved around her and the females of mutant town

I'm a huge fan of the TMNT series. I grew up with 1980s, 2003 being a personal favorite from my childhood, and rise is personally one of my favorite. Fans love rise, and there is a large amount of rise fans who grew up with TMNT that I know through the fandom. It's unique, and because it's unique, it's frowned upon. Just because people aren't obsessed with comics and waiting to get hands on them doesn't mean their real fans.

Why would it be bad for female punk frogs. Like I love mutant females.

And another crazy thing is that the people that are upset that April is supposed to be quote unquote black they weren't upset when Baxter stockman was changed from black to white in the original cartoon series funny how that works. And you know top of that her name is April O'Neil like what black person has that name honestly none clearly she has Irish in her roots.

im sorry but rise introduced so many who weren't into the franchise before into the franchise, and it doesn't mean you're only a "real" fan if you financially support a series, people have different backgrounds and financial situations, plus nick barely advertised the rise toys themselves and they couldn't be bothered to make good looking merch for that series, I've seen fan made merch with much better quality and looks way better than the official merch, they fumbled the bag themselves and took the show down with them

Mikey was always my favorite Turtle, but I find myself REALLY liking Mirage's Mikey & his more laidback, chill & compassionate personality. I think if they ever made a animated version like this I would imagine him like Raph from the Rise series as a strong but easygoing & compassionate soul.
