you have a 6.5 inch wrist ? i always thought the peli 39 was for me cause i was afraid the FXD is too big on my wirst seeing it on your had makes me want one :D its looks too good not to have one would be a crime

Unfortunately, the movement will be the same crap as the 143. Only with a longer mainspring for more power reserve. I like the black one though.

How do you feel about the screws heads being random? Adds to the character of a tool watch, or it’s gonna drive you crazy?

Really nice seeing the comparison with the SPB143 on film, nice refinements that do make a difference. I sold my SPB a while back but these could tempt me back in. How is the end link fit? It was diabolical how much play it had on mine... Cheers 🙂👍

Beautiful watch. I like the improvements here. The only thing I don't care for is the movement. Seiko has an amazing 6L and 8L movements. I have owned an 8L, the monoblock marine master, and it was a gem, one of my favorite watches I took everywhere with me and kept excellent time. Previously, I had a 6R15 and was much less impressed with the performance there--back then that was for 800 dollars, the so-called Pepsi bezel on the mm200 back in 2018. I'm reluctant to try a 6R again, this time at 1300.

No not until they have a no date version will this be comparable to the spb143 first gen. Close but no cigar.

I'll be keeping my JDM 143, but look forward to watching these evolve.

FXD Carbon for me.

I was in the British Army. As far as I can remember, only NCOs were allowed to sign these watches out the store. To be handed back after exercise. The old CWC watches were a decent watch and at the time I was envious. I had a seiko dive watch I paid about £65 for back in the early 90s so I used that. Although the CWC watch was better and the strap cooler. Until very recently, I never knew the NATO strap desire amongst watch enthusiasts.

I kind a like look of this watch but price is ridiculous especially with this spec - beat blasted finish is most simple, they even can't lined up screws, also shitty STP movement.

Great looking watch! $1900 is a bit steep without a bracelet, but it's what I paid for my Oris Aquis a couple of years. The Oris has an unregulated movement and not nearly as much attention to detail as this watch has. Plus, nothing else looks like this watch. The design is one of a kind. I am a little hesitant about the STP movement, but, if it's been examined by a watch maker, then it gives me a bit more confidence. BTW, my Oris now sells for $2500. $600 increase in two years. That makes $1900 for this watch look like a bargain.

It looks great - but seems a little pricey given the other benchmarks in this range (CW, Yema, Baltic) and no bracelet.

Why not just leave the date window at 3 o clock, or ditch the silly "Automatic 3 Days" text, move the "Diver's 300m" up, and put a proper date window at 6 o clock for symmetry? Anyway, not a dealbreaker, in my opinion, might get one at some point.

Citizen is underrated. But hey, don’t tell them, they’ll jack up the prices just like Seiko did!

Great collection of watches

Seiko is doing great with their new date positioning. I recently picked up a spb 313 and it's quickly becoming my favourite watch.

Not enough watch for the price they are asking. A gimmick I would say.

Terrible music choice

Great new models. Seiko just needs to upgrade their bracelets. Lose the divers extension and use a Glyde lock microadjust. Also get rid of the pins and collars and go to screws.

Get the San Martin version instead

is the lume still green? I see Seiko opted for a blue tone in the new SNXS models.

Any idea if the reflections are less on the new models? Also do you reckon pre-existing bracelets that fit the SPB143 would fit the new ones?

Have they chamfered and applied mirror polishing to the edge of the bezel? It looks different to the 143. The bezel seems so have a much more defined and shiny outline. Looks great.

My 143 has dominated my collection. I love that watch. I also have the 455 preordered. Thanks for the video. Im super hyped to get that watch on my wrist come June.

So lets see - Prospex but no 8L35 movement? FAIL. 60 click bezel instead of 120? NOPE. Steel instead of ceramic bezel insert? HELL NO. And that date window is an abomination - place it at 3, 5 or 6 (Seiko has done all three in the past) or dont place it there at all! (All these comments are based as an owner of the 140th Edition MarineMaster which gets all of the above right, but could do with a little less bulk at 220g)
