- Citizen launched a new Titanium blacked out Promaster dive watch. The NB6025-59H “Black Fujitsubo” , with Super Titanium Duratect DLC coating.
It takes all the elements that made the relaunch of the promaster series so popular and gives it a DLC treatment. I got hands on with one and I'll look at the similarities with my 1977 challenge diver NB6021 reissue.

I have the black dial version. Only con I have is bezel action, and the shiny finish. Other,than that it is Diver perfection for this price range.
Yeah. Could improve with the grip
This puts Seiko to shame. This is all titanium, but not just any old titanium, it's got a hardened surface treatment; it's also highly anti-magnetic; and it has a quick-adjust/diver's extension clasp for the bracelet option. Not to mention the higher beat movement. All for sub $1000. That's value right there. Meanwhile all you can get for that is a Seiko SPB and it's even over $1000 that has none of the above. The only thing a Seiko bests this Barnacle is the bi-directional rotor winding but that's almost inconsequential.

Still a boring dial, pity citizen didn’t have this case, bezel and movement on the four NY0120 models, those dials are fantastic up close and personal. Plus a lot of people are saying the titanium scratches pretty easily, cool name for it though. Hell the case could even be stainless just the same dimensions and I,d have my wallet out.
Loving the dark grey on this one. It looke like it can shift its color depth depending on the lighting. This one seems like a true chameleon that can go from the beach and flip flops on Sunday into a suit & tie office meeting on Monday. Great presentation video, well done.

I love the weight of some of my luxury watches, but I love titanium from Citizen and GShock. Citizen generally does it right and at a great price!

But… isn’t the REAL challenge diver NOT the 52-0110 ref? Which is why the bezel indices don’t go all around like on my ‘78 52-0110?
the watch that was found on the beach was a 1977 CITIZEN 52-0110 Challenge 150M Diver with the bezel that has indices that goes all around the bezel, the Citizen 62-6198 Challenge 150M diver from 1976 has the bezel with the indices that stop at 3 o'clock marker @@Hialeah1925

It's great looking classic diver watch and titanium does the trick for me. My only Seiko that compares favorably (in accuracy and good looks) is my Marinemaster, but it's as heavy as truck... I love he 9051 movement, anti-magnetic, thin and precise (+1 sec/24h on my watch). At that price and quality level, the Fujitsubo is a no brainer, honestly.

Ive got one of these with the blue bezel. Full titanium is soo light and comfortable on wrist . Its worn loose but its not annoying . The accuracy when worn is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. worn 5 days so far working as a mechanic so its not babied and its gained just THREE seconds. Rolex / grand seiko spring drive level of accuracy for a fraction of the price!

I am a noob and curious how do you know that it runs three plus? Because you adjust it perfectly and notice after a few days that the seconds do not match?

Absolutely, the grip is one of my main complaints, it's very hard to grip naturally, and even harder when your fingers are wet.
I'm buying the black one, but I'm not excited about the polished coin edge.

Aluminum bezel? For that price point should have been ceramic esp for a divers watch

This is a weird collection, I’m really tempted with the black version but they forgot to include a bracelet. I like this dial but I’m really not a fan of black metal.

That beveled edge of the crystal was annoying to clean. I kept seeing dust, lint, etc. enhanced by the dark dial. If that had a slightly domed or flat crystal then it would have been a keeper.
