  • Finally, after 3 years, the microbrand Méraud watch co is back with a new release.
    Two new beautiful chronographs, powered by the historic Landeron 248 NOS movemenet
    have been added to the collection and I had the pleasure to get hands on with them before the official release.
    In this video we are taking a closer look at both models . The "Miho Black " and the "Soft Sand". The attention to details on the dial, case are amazing, due to the limited availability of Landeron 248 chronograph movements only 100 of each will be made.
    For more information on the watch visit meraud-watches.com/

    Note: not a sponsored posts but I was commissioned by Méraud to create the teaser, launch video & press pack for the new release.

    As a Chronograph Junkie all I can say is wow! To be able to buy a New Old Stock Landeron 248 caliber movement inside of this beautiful designed Meraud watch is amazing. If recent events are any indicator these should sell out fast (remember the Nivada Gretchen chronograph with the Valjoux caliber 23)? All Gone. And this watch is over $3,000 less. Great job Meraud! Your time and effort to bring these watches to us at a very reasonable price is more than outstanding. You have my thanks and should receive many awards.

    Gorgeous watch. As a Bonaire owner, I remember all of the Meraud/Baltic comparisons, but in my mind it’s not even a close call.
    Please, please make that green tropic separately available!

    This is exactly what I've been looking for. A nivada Grenchen chronomaster-esque watch that is 40mm. 8 inch wrists are a nuisance. They're site says 40mm diameter, just noticed you have 39mm listed

    • @BowlOfSalmon
      @BowlOfSalmon  ปีที่แล้ว

      thank for the compliment. limited is never an excuse to pump a price... or create "demand" or whatever. and glad to see Meraud is playing it fair.. from my understanding it is only limited because of the nr of movements that are sourced.

    • @meraud-watches
      @meraud-watches ปีที่แล้ว

    • @BowlOfSalmon

      On paper they are just over the speedmaster. Only realised that Until I checked the actual specs so from
      Wearing experience I didn’t notice that.

    • @meraud-watches
      @meraud-watches ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thnx for the feedback! We have refined the case profile, it doesn't wear like a 13,5mm watch. To ensure it to be waterproof the crystal has to be thick enough and we're using 2 of them (front and back) to also highlight the beautiful movement. The movement itself is over 6mm already. Don't forget that many brands are posting height dimensions excluding cyrstals lately... 🙂

  • @zHumanfactor
    @zHumanfactor ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really like the design, casing and movement. A chrono-diver can be tricky, especially if it's a manual wind. Is the crown a screw-down or push/pull? If it's a screw-down, that would be inconvenient to the daily winding experience for this watch.

    • @meraud-watches
      @meraud-watches ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for bringing that up! It is a push/pull crown. During the prototype stage it was a screw-down crown but as you mention, after testing and wearing it for longer periods of time it's inconvenient so I ended up going for a push/pull crown.

    • @BowlOfSalmon
      @BowlOfSalmon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. Most is really basics. There is guarantee , Automatic watches need service eventually. The movement is well known by watchmakers but the brand would always need to be the first point of contact. I found a faq on the website that covers these things. meraud-watches.com/pages/faq

    • @meraud-watches
      @meraud-watches ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Amirol, maintenance can be done by our watchmaker. The Landeron 248 caliber is well known by many (good) watchmakers. We also have enough spare parts to offer service or repairs. Although this caliber is a proven workhorse.
