8th year into my watch collecting journey. And I can tell you every week I learn something new about watches and another watch I want to pursue and own in my collection but I always default back to my Tudor BB 58 925 and Rolex Sub Hulk. They can the most wrist time. Is there a 1 watch collection for a watch collector? NO never. Do you need more than 2, depends what makes you happy.
Pretty sure I could be happy with either 2 of these. Or even just the seiko. If it wasn’t a hobby , work and passion. And if they could just be a watch.
The sweet spot for me is 3 watches! My 3 are 216570 Explorer II Polar, the do it all watch, Milgauss 116400 Black Green Crystal my fun quirky unique watch also have a rubber B in the summer and Datejust 126334 Azzuro Blue Jubilee, dressy sports watch. I wear the Polar and Milgauss daily, and the Datejust on weekends, while I do enjoy looking at watches on TH-cam I wouldn’t add another one.
Great video of your cool collection!! Always fun hearing how collectors think about their collections. Wishing you and your loved ones all the best for the coming year!!!
Excellent video and collection, Salmon. I’ve found myself rewatching your video after placing an order for my own Pelagos MN FXD. Looking forward to that strap option video!
Hi, first video I'm watching, this feels so relatable..."If I was to keep only ONE watch, I'd keep the Explorer 2 and the Speedmaster" 🤣 Nice taste and wonderful pictures/video quality. You got a new sub !
Thanks for the update and an on point video! ● Yes, you certainly have a leaning towards Tool Watches - so do I and nothing wrong with that. ● 100% agree with the Glashutte! Gorgeous looking and although expensive (all relative), I believe this is by far the best bang for your buck out there! ● My Titanium suggestion would be the Christopher Ward C60 Elite 1000. Independent, bang for your buck, dial and size options as a bonus. Also seems like a GMT woukd be good for you as you seem to travel quite a bit. The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander GMT seems like it is a good fit. It has a similar look to your Rolex Explorer ll but you can wear it without worrying about the name and at 39mm it seems perfect size. ● I also think the Logines Legend Diver is a great option - similar to your Sherpa. Choice of various dial colours and also the choice of 36mm or 42mm. ● Your ultimate grail is the business - wasn't familiar with it until now. Mine is a Ressence (never going to happen) and Glashutte SeaQ - more realistic. Have a great Christmas. Tom
Fan of the channel. Thanks for sharing. Some cracking pieces. Just my opinion of course, but if it was me id keep the bottom row (Santos, Exp2, Moonwatch) then add a LV Submariner(good luck on that one) & a GMT of some description to join your blue FXD. 6 & done. Then sell the rest. Happy Christmas.
Hello, and thanks for this video. It's quite refreshing to discover a collection that doesn't include any Casio (G-Shock or not) and doesn't include many, many Seikos or Rolexes. And which, conversely, includes both watches from major brands and others from micro brands (and, about that point, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for introducing me to a brand that I didn't know, Sherpa). To conclude, a question if I may, do you think you will later move away a little from your two passions for divers and for Tudor?
Thanks for the reply. I don’t see Tudor as a small Rolex brother or anything so no reason to move away. While they provide great value. Proven to me with the bb58 and fxd the pelagos just feels “rushed”. Oh and I do have a casioak for those rare occasions I chop wood or go mountainbiking 🫣. How my taste will evolve idk … but I can only hope it doesn’t just have to me more expensive each time and I don’t become that guy
@@BowlOfSalmon Thanks for your answer. I also do not consider Tudor as, only, the little sister of Rolex but also, and above all, as a brand which does not make much effort to renew itself. A bit like Audemars with the Royal Oak, they only had, more or less, one model, a model which represents, by compiling its various iterations, between 80% and 90% of their sales. And this model was a huge diver watch, that you could name BlackBay or Pelagos. Hopefully, these five last years, Tudor decided to change, by inventing the Ranger, by creating a BB without a diver bezel or by promoting their 1926 models. I hope they'll continue this way. I wish you all the best for your 2024 collection's travel.
Your dream 3 watch single brand collection is nearly identical to mine. VC 1921 is possibly my favorite watch ever made. Love the 222. Would probably go with any overseas chrono for mine. Subscribed.
It’s interesting that Tudor sent the Pelagos 39 back to the RSC and replaced the hands but the issue was still there. So they recognise it’s a problem but just not enough to fix it. My Pelagos has the exact same issue, almost like the hands haven’t been painted with lume! With the watch box are the cushions pretty flexible for smaller wrists?
The glass lid one has the Rolex style Cushions that can be squeezed a bit so the foam or whatever is used is crushed a bit so they don’t try to expand too much. For the other zipcased there are different size pillows available too
Sinn T50 and the Certina DS Action Diver 38mm for the titanium recommendations. I also picked up a Pelagos 39 and Citizen Fujitsubo this year and it got me looking at future titanium acquisitions.
A nice collection, though there's still some room to improve(of course almost for everyone). I am going to get a rose gold two-tone chocolate dial DJ next week. It will be my first Rolex in around 15 years of this hobby. Definitely not a mainstream choice of Rolex, but it's one of my favorite. Hope I can get a 31mm version for my wife soon, so we will have two great pairs of his and her watches(already own a pair of two-tone Santos Dumont).
I sold my BB58 too. But I still don’t really know why I didn’t wear it. It is perfect size and good quality. So why did we not wear it? Why did we have to sell it? I simply don’t know…
@@BowlOfSalmon man, I had the original one, sold it. Got the blue one 3-4 years later, same. In your head it makes sense but in reality it's the same. If you can only afford the BB58, it's the perfect watch. But if you can get more, which you can, BB58 just doesn't do it.
