- A closer look at the Méraud Bonaire Mk2, the third and latest release from Belgian based watch company Méraud watches. In terms of design this divewatch will tick a lot of boxes for a lot of people. In this video we take a closer look at all the new colours and check out a side by side with the previous Bonaire.
I did the main part of the photography and video for the website & press packs so this won't be a review and this isn't sponsored either, just me with some free time trying to showcase a watch to you and I hope that with this extra footage can help some of you make up their mind on the release and decide on a dial colour.

Wow. This isn't just a step up from the MKI. This is a whole different league. Microbrands like Meraud, operating in that sub-2000 USD range, are putting out some incredible watches these days.

I have the first serie. This model looks fantastic. The new clasp/bracelet is a very welcome upgrade. Well done!!!
The new case is very much oyster-like which will please the majority of buyers. I really like the originals' more tuna-can-with-legs aesthetic and broad, open face. Sapphire bezel on the original is very distinctive.

The dial design and movement are interesting. When I checked with Stijn, the movement is Soigne meaning it’s the higher grade movement at -7 + 7 . Was unable to verify if it has an anti magnetic feature

Maybe a silicone hairspring? The ol’ Swatcharoo! Remove the regulator cock….make it so all you can do is send it to Switzerland. There, all the watch makers are gone. They have “Service Techs “ now. Parts changers. It is a disgusting practice. Smh…….

Just a beautiful watch all around. But I really don’t see the value in the LJP movement. I wonder what the price point could be with a tried and true decorated SW200. One that doesn’t have the rotor noise. Still a lovely watch. And if you value power reserve and a rarer than eta clone movement, this would look great on any wrist.
I kinda like some mvmt variety out there. also, noise sounds a bit negative .. nothing like that .. Audible ;)

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I prefer MKI dial design. Love the empty space, reminds me of bathyscaphe a little. This one is more generic in design.

Fun fact. I think Meraud launched the first Bonaire before Baltic tbh. They both draw vintage inspiration. Nothing working with that
