- Looking for the perfect straps for you Omega Speedmaster or need some help in changing the bracelet? I got you covered.
I've collected quite a few straps (understatement) over the past 2 years and in this video I'll share the ones that keep finding their way back to my speedy and on to my wrist. I'll show you 5 different materials for 6 different looks.
This video is not sponsored by any of the brands listed here. These are MY personal favorites.
I also quickly go over the tools I use to change the bracelet and I'll show you how to get the bracelet on or off. Hope this can be helpful to some.

Nice video Tom. You're a pro in Straps changing now. We need more videos !
Doing my best. Need to find some content.
Would help if I could
Nicely done. So far my favorite is the flatlinks followed by Artem. Cheers.
Glad we agree on those. ! Thanks for watching
Thanks for the content! Very helpful!
Great video sir. The speedy is a dream watch for myself
Sorry I can only clone them digital 🙃
Great vid Tom! This will help a lot of folks i reckon!
I hope so. New creed. “What is obvious to you is amazing to others “
you realy put alot of effort in your videos, your an inspiration!
I try. Glad you like them!
What a great video Tom! I’m sure this will help many people enjoy their watches in a new way - no need to go to an AD/jeweller to get your strap changes done! I’d struggle to say I have a favourite strap type, I’m lucky enough to have similar options to you and each serves a purpose, depending on what I’m up to that day. If all else fails, you can’t beat a nato 😊 Cheers!
You even are a bigger strap addict than me 😂 thanks for watching R. 🙏
@@BowlOfSalmon Tom, I’ve tried the spring bar tweezers in the past but they usually only work well for Rolex/Tudor and somewhat for omega spring bars. Is there a spring bar tweezers that also works for seiko and other brand spring bars?
Really awesome video you put together here! Great tips and definitely need me some better tools
thanks jeremy ... when in a pinch ;.. toothpicks work too
Great video again. Nothing new to me, but I liked to see all the strap options for this grail.
thanks for the support Julian !
Great video man 👏
Thx mate 🙏
Great video Tom. I have a view scared watche 😂. My speedy is normally on the bracelet as it is super comfy. My go to straps are from @artisan straps. Another great Aussie brand. I do love the OEM Nato straps. So many options for the Speedy. Again thanks for the tips.
My are both scared when they see me coming and scarred when they see me leave 😂
GREAT vid!!
thanks mad. glad you liked it
Couple Joseph Bonnie’s on the ol’ Christmas list 👌🏻
Ho Ho Ho 🎅
excellent stuff 👏 👏
Thanks for the visit
Great video! This was very helpful and some great inspiration. What's the watch stand at 4:00? Also would like to know about the travel case at the very beginning.
stand .. "the watch stand" :) thewatchstand.com/
Great video. Thanks. Is there a nato-like strap that you would recommend for the Pelagos FXD that buckles like a regular strap and does not require the extra folds?
Haven’t been able to try the fxd. But hopefully… soon
Great video!! May I ask which one you think was more comfortable? Delugs or Artem’s strap?
different materials different purpose ...
The Speedmaster went to the moon, it can handle light water use. I used my speedy while snorkeling in Maui two years ago, and it’s working fine.
Tried snorkelling on the moon once. Big success
Interesting choice :)
Would you say it makes sense to order the watch with its original steel bracelett and then get any other somehwere else? Like nato, rubber, nylon etc ?
Oh definetly get the og bracelet and go for aftermarket straps !
I use my thumbnail to depress the spring bar when reinstalling the bracelet. Works like a charm and I don’t have to worry about a metal tip scratching the watch. I’m not nearly as worried about scratching the watch with the tool when removing as I am when reinstalling.
I guess the thumbnail trick only works for those who keep a bit of nail though.
The process is always a nailbiter
@@BowlOfSalmon 😂😂😂
Great Video Tom. I do have a question; why do you claim that Speedmasters are not waterproof? Omega state that they are swimmable, and I have been using them in the pool for many years.
So many claim the same as you, but no one seem to have had bad experiences proving Omega wrong.
I’d prefer you try to claim them wrong tho. Might have some water resistance but I prefer beeing prudent and avoid claims 🫣
Wow. Very useful video. Great. So can you say your brush width? I try to find some looks like mine 😊
I suppose you mean wrist size ? 16,5cm
@@BowlOfSalmon yep. Thx 🙏🏼
Great vid & wider content. The tool that comes with the Speedy is great. Forstner end links are better than Uncle Seiko - they both make some nice OEM replicas though.
totally forget they provide a tool in the box too .. mine is just still in the box :)
These straps are a great.
thanks
Do you recommend using tweezers or a singled forked tool for changing out the bracelet?
I'm terrible with tweezers myself .. or just with "not scratching" lugs so I'm the worst fish to ask for help :)
I just need a Speedy now. 😅👌
come on' joey you know you want one
@@BowlOfSalmon I really do want one. 😅
Just a short comment: if you are dealing with a watch worth more than a couple thousand dollars (as is the case with any Omega, or Rolex, etc), then you *really* should tape the lugs when changing the strap or bracelet, because a single small scratch on the lugs will cost you more than $300 or so in terms of loss of resale value of your preciousss. And even if you are not reselling it, it's always disheartening to damage the case of a good watch. It takes perhaps 1 minute at most to tape the lugs, but a scratch on your watch will stay there forever.
Agreed. Good practice
Great video! Whats your wrist size?
16,5cm .. did Evan put you you up to this ?
@@BowlOfSalmon ahh cool!
I'm not sure who Evan is!
What do you think of the OEM Omega Leather strap on a smaller wrist?
I never owned any oem omega. I don’t really care for the logo on the buckle. And I’ll prefer to have a custom size made for me. Eg. Delugs
@@BowlOfSalmon Gotta admit. The delugs leather strap looks like a killer.
Speedmaster is more water resistant than people think. I don't worry if I forget to take mine off in the shower or bath children wearing it.
yeah.. there is a dude on IG posting snorkling pics etc... but .. i'd rather not risk it ... I rinsed it quickly too in the past tho
@@BowlOfSalmon Who's that? Keen to dive in...
I always keep it on my wrist when i take a shower.
Goed bezig mn besten
Thx Roel
Great video! Cheers!
Thanks. Should I do another like this ?
@@BowlOfSalmon yes please! Cheers!
Stupid question - how do you undo/take out the clasp on the bracelet so you can get behind it to change the strap??
🤔 I don’t take out the clasps
@@BowlOfSalmonIn the video you seem to - like open the clasp so you can lay the bracelet flat when going at the spring bars. Separate the clasp/bracelet so it's not a big circle, instead it's long and flat if you get me.
@@thattablebloke ah okay ... see it now .. the bracelet that is open is the forstner/uncle seiko one and is also attached to the clasp with a spring bar so its easy enough to remove. i think I just did this to be able to show it a little better tho
Which is your fav brand and type of Nato for it?
The type would be tubular and the brand. Not too many differences. I like the bark&jack hardware style tho
@@BowlOfSalmon Thanks for the feedback, I would of expected the seat belt style would be generaly more preferred. So good to know. Any favorite colors to use with the Speedy you recommend most? Thank you.
@@tacomn depends on your skin tone or preference I suppose.. greens always works .. black / grey / or tan are the favs here
great video..
