Hi dear Nina!!! My orchids, in general, typically bloom later than everyone else's. And what I have noticed is that the Oncidium types I already had, are blooming even later than in previous years just because of their new location. But none has colapsed, so far, which is great. Now that the sun is travelling lower, they are getting more direct sun than before. I have to keep an eye on them. I hope the leaves don't get burnt. This first year is being crucial to observe how they perform. How about kingianum? 😃 So funny, I hope it is a good sign though and not some cry for help in antecipation 🤔 I hope you are doing well. My allergies are trying to kill me but I will survive, hopefully 🤣 Many hugs amiga mia 🙋💝💞😘😘😘😘

She is ok, very stuburn and energetic but very sweet too. She is on holiday from dog school until end of August but she is ansious to go. Hi Annie, Thank you my dear. If I could I would mount all my orchids. But my climate is not appropriate. Too cold during winterand during summer it does not rain. But you are right, Oncidium love to be mounted and do so much better that way. Much love to you 😘😘😘😘

Muito obrigada Marli. Eu só tenho este mas houve uma altura em que quis mais e encomendei do norte um rabo de gato ou rato, já nem me recordo. Era mais fino e era muito comprido, uns bons 2 metros. Tinha vários braços, era lindo. Mas veio enrolado numa caixa e só mais tarde reparei que ficou "ofendido" nos sítios onde enrolou. Ou seja, quando reparei, a planta estava a apodrecer por dentro e a podridão tinha se espalhado pela planta toda. Nem consegui salvar nada. Fiquei tão triste que nunca mais quis outro. Este que tenho comprei numa feira de orquídeas e já lá vão uns anos. Grande abraço 😘😘😘😘

It looked great but it did not work. This Dendrobium is a difficult hybrid and it did not like the palm tree. I ended it up moving it to the olive ttee and it seems to be doing better. Thank you Denise, much appreciated 🥰😘😘

It has been an easy one to grow here, so far. And it's been fun to grow it. But it is getting so big, I don't think I want another one 😃

The roots formed a mass in the middle that keep the water like a substrate would. They form a sort of a mound. The roots are like pine needles, rigid and strong 😅

Hi dear Nina, it's been fun growing this orchid, giving me no trouble other than watering (hope she is not listening 😅) I have plenty of new growths too. One grew from below, tried to get back into the basket and I managed to push it out. However it went in and then decided to come down again, weaving thru the wire 😅 I am curious to see if it will make it but I fear not. Crazy growth!!! I have been meaning to email you but when I can I forget and only remember when I cannot. I wantef to apologize for not asking you for a chat as we had agreed. But latest weeks have been crazy. First of I am having some health issues, hubby also broke a rib and a few days ago Íris was neutered and I have to keep both eyes on her. She is very fussy to eat and to have her take all the pills requires much strategy 😅 Hopefully soon we will pick up out chats ❤❤❤❤

They sure get big. And heavy !! Not the kind of orchid I thought I would have one day but Nina was kind to send it to me. It was and adventure because it had two new growths growing below 😃 But Nina packed it so well that it arrived unharmed 😅

@@fatimacristina671 Elas não gostam de frio por isso elas estão crescendo bem. No entanto para florirem elas apreciam uma quebra na temperatura á noite. Também pode acontecer que sejam ainda jovens ou, caso estejam em cestos pode acontecer que as hastes florais fiquem presas e não consigam sair. O meu cesto tem buracos muito largos mas mesmo assim, por vezes, as hastes crescem de encontro aos arames e se eu não lhes der um jeitinho elas ficam ali e não avançam. Beijinhos e bom domingo 😘😘😘

It is a funny orchid and easy to grow. So far she is growing and blooming well. But She is big and very heavy. The roots are pine tree-like, rigid and pointy forming a mound on the middle. A very interesting specimen. Thank you so much Denise. I hope you are having a fantastic weekend 🌷😍❤

Olá, eu também gosto desta plantinha. Ela nem sempre brota quando nós queremos 😃 aconselho a espalhar as sementinha no seu jardim ou num vaso. Ela prefere locais húmidos e sombreados. Nem sempre ela germina logo no mesmo ano. Mas, um dia ela irá brotar. No meu jardim já não as via há alguns anos e este verão tem aparecido em muitos locais.

Hi Joe 👋 Thank you !!! I like this method also because it avoids having to repot when they grow larger. I have noticed that purpuratas don't like repots, having the tendency to lose older roots when we repot . In the meantime I don't use bark or any other organic materiais in the pots. I have changed to pumice and lava rock. Most people do well with bark but I don't, it takes too long to dry out in my cooler climate. Have a nice day, Joe and happy growing ❤❤❤
