Olá Meri, bom dia. Através das orquídeas aprendemos muitas coisas. Antigamente, antes de as cultivar, eu não tinha ideia que o Brasil também tinha frio 😃 Aqui onde vivo o inverno é bem mais suave do que noutras regiões de Portugal onde há geada e neve. O verão é sempre mais agradável. Fico feliz que esteja se divertindo, boas férias e que o Ano Novo lhe traga tudo de bom. Grande abraço 😘😘😘😘😘

@@OnceuponanOrchid Hello and Thank you so much for commenting, much appreciated ❤️ I water my Vandas everyday during summer and once or twice a week during winter. I soak them in a bucket for around 30 minutes. During summer I keep them outdoors under the porch but In winter I bring them indoors. My summers are cool but winters are mild never getting to freezing. Still, nights can get as low as 4 or 5 C. Happy NewYear to you and yours 💝🍸🥂🍾

@FernandaNascimentoOrchids thank you so much for the in-depth info on how you grow your Vandas. Your conditions sounds very similar to Brisbane. I leave mine all outdoors and I have developed my own potting mix that does need to water the plants too often. it's great for busy people and saves water

Hi amiga mia, in my area the wind is almost permanent, that is what makes my climate cooler. But you are right, wind is not healthy around the neck, it's also terrible for my rhynitis. I am so glad to look at my weather APP and see nothing but little suns for the next 10 days 🤸😃. I hope it stays that way. Olá Marli, muito obrigada ❤️ Este Cymbidium é mesmo muito bonito e já houve uma altura em que me deu 10 hastes cheias de flores. Mas depois foi-se abaixo e agora parece estar a recuperar. O frio chegou finalmente, vamos a ver como as orquídeas se aguentam pois nos últimos dias tive o falecimento da minha cunhada e nem tenho tido tempo nem paciência para tratar delas. Hi dear Nina, thank you so much for your wonderful comment, much appreciated ❤️ Suddenly temperatures dropped same as you, tonight maybe even less. I hope my Oncidium don't resent it. The good thing is that the sun is lovely and Bright. Also I am not paying much attention to my orchids lately. I was ill for several days with high fever (maybe a vírus) and then my brothers wife suddenly passed away after a couple days in hospital. She went on sunday but the crematories seem to be too busy and only yesterday she was taken to the church and funeral will take place this evening. I have been away to support here family in Lisbon. I am so very sad not only because I loved her but also for my brother and nephews 🥹🥹🥹🥹 So, I have been negletting my orchids and my Vandas are suffering the most. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule and healthy issues to give my video some support. Really appreciate that. Much love to you and yours 💝🤗🥰😍

Hi dear Mary, Thank you for commenting. Watering is always the hard part, all depending on environment conditions 😬. I still have been watering my Dendrobium because they were getting full sun and temperatures were high till two days ago. Now it got much cooler I so I haven't watered, I just give them only a light spray. As of now that is what I do on most days ❤️🤗😍

Olá Meri, muito obrigada. Trazer para dentro de casa traz-me alguma tranquilidade pois como sou uma pessoa muito friorenta fico preocupada que elas fiquem desconfortáveis lá fora. A verdade é que ultimamente os invernos têm tido temperaturas mais amenas e gradualmente já vou deixando algumas lá fora que antigamente eu trazia para dentro de casa. Mesmo quando não chovia, os dias permaneciam nublados. E assim, perdi algumas orquídeas. Vamos ver como corre este ano. Para já não há frio, ainda não precisei acender a lareira este ano.
