Today I want to show you my new orchids. They are Oncidium hybrids and I want to include them in my Oncidium project, planting them by the Magnolia tree. We will have to wait for more favourable conditions, end of april maybe.

Olá querida Josefina. O tempo vai muito desagradavel, vento e frio. Já a chuva, essa pelo menos faz falta mas dispenso o frio. Costuma-se dizer "Carnaval em casa, Pascoa na rua". Mas este ano, o Carnaval foi molhado e pelos vistos a Pascoa vai ser molhada também. Haja saúde, que é o principal. Beijinhos e tenha uma Pascoa com alegria 💖💖🥰🥰

Hi Mary, thank you. I got them at Lidl, I don't know if you have this chain over there. They usually have great varied plants but I buy from another Supermarket that offers better deals for food and I don't go to Lidl as often as I probably should. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL new Oncidium hybrids you have bought Fernanda :-D and its going to be so exciting to add these to your Oncidium garden project, its been very very wet and so cold for March here in Ireland too, very heavy rain and flooding and its just 6c here today and in February we had 15c day temps, but March has been more like January brrrr, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful new Orchids with us Fernanda, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Portugal for a wonderful Thursday XXXX
Hi Lyn, I am sorry to hear your weather is lousy too. These weather changes are terrible for our health and the plant's too 😵💫 Let's hope April will bring us some stability. I am very glad with my new orchids. I got them from Lidl. Thank you very much for your lovely comment dear friend. Have a wonderful Easter weekend with lots of beautiful cacti blooms. Mine are under the weather getting all the rain, poor things, they haven't rotten during winter, I hope they won't rot now 😬 Unfortunately I don't have the space to bring them under cover, I mean, a safe place with good light, out of the reach of Iris. Beautiful new plants, I hope they do well for you. Looks like you have some Spring rain! We also occasionally get sand from the Sahara. The magnolias are in bloom here now, we are far behind you😀
So you do get the sands too!!! I had no idea but coming to think of it, the sands get as far as the US. Quite amazing!!! Also amazing is how nature and plants perform so differently even in close by areas. For instance, the Magnolias have bloomed only a few weeks ago about one hour from here whereas mine bloomed long ago. Hi Jose, I am loving Oncidium now more than I used to. I had the wrong idea that they needed much warmth and although my winters are mild, my Summers are cool. They are also very rewarding with lovely blooms, aren't they? I hope your Oncidium also bring you much joy. Hehehe, são realmente bonitas e foram baratinhas. Comprei no Lidl. Eles costumam ter boas plantas mas raramente lá vou pois gasto do Pingo doce. Também tinham plantas de casa, de jardim e catos e suculentas. Apetecia trazer tudo 😜 Beijinhos e boa Páscoa. Espero que o mau tempo não esteja a fazer muitos estragos por aí 😍😍😍😍

Hi Wanda, I was very surprised myself. Phalaenopsis and Dendrobium are common to see at some supermarkets but orchids like these and at such low prices were a one off and they sell off almost immediately. I was lucky this time 😊A very happy Easter weekend you too🐣🐰💖💖

I see some pretty peach blooms on your tree. Nice new orchids and great prices! The nelly isler is so difficult to find here in the US. Looking forward to seeing how your new orchids progress.
Thank you my ftriend!!! I hope I can grow them well. The Nelly isler is quite common here and recently they've come up with a yellow form too. As most people grow them indoors where it is cooler even in hot summer regions, they last longer. My peach tree has only a few blossoms that came up last week when it was warmer and now, with this cold and hard rain they may sprout even more slowly. I can see some leaves growing already 😬But it did the same last year and we still had more peaches than we could eat. Long gone are the days when it would bloom profusely, making it look like a pink ball 🤣 Happy Easter weekend to you and your family 🥰🥰
Beautiful amiga mia! I am so excited for this project. Also... the weather! I feel terrible for people who came to our area to spend Easter in the sun 😢 its crazy cold and non stop rain. Like you, I dont mind the rain but the cold!! Today we are not going higher than 14⁰C. I am on painkillers because I cant take it anymore. But yes, it appears to have cleared the atmosphere which is the silver lining 😊 have a wonderful day, vecina favorita! Happy Easter ❤❤

I was so lucky because I don't usually go to that supermarket which is Lidl, a german chain. @@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Thank you for letting me know which supermarket because dang.... going grocery shopping and then seeing those kinds of orchids, that does not happen here! I have a Lidl within walking distance which I sometimes go to, not much as I like my spanish one better, but I will go and have a look to see if they provide the same 'service' here 😘

Lovely Fernanda. I have one Miltoniopsis. Being that temps here are just hitting 10°c overnight, I think I’ll be bringing her inside for winter. I’m not sure she’s that strong, so thank you for the tip!! ❤
Hi Sharon, I can see your fall is starting quite cold. The best temperatures for Miltoniopsis vary from 10 to 28 C. Still, they like high light. They come from the Andes in South América, growing at high elevations. Have a wonderful Easter weekend 🌷😍😍😍

Interessante que dei uma volta pela internet para ver informações sobre a Catatante e dei com um vídeo seu de há 5 anos e tinha um comentário meu 😊😊 Como o tempo passa rápido. Verdade, as Miltoniopsis não gostam nada de calor. Mesmo a catatante prefere temperaturas abaixo dos 30 graus. Se tentar outra vez, nas horas de muito calor experimente traze-la para dentro de casa provisoriamente. beijinhos e uma otima Pascoa 🐰🐰💖💖🐣🐣

It's been this kind of stormy very frequently since October but until the end of winter temperatures were almost tropical. Whereas now, ever since spring officially started, it's been much cooler. This wind has been terrible but nothing major hás been damaged in my yard. Other parts of the country have not been so lucky.
