Thank you so much Troy. I have a lot of work to make this garden easy to maintain but everytime I think I can relax now, there comes another task 🤣🤣🤣 But that's life and like to do most of them. Hope you are having a wonderful week 🤗🥰❤️❤️❤️
Beijinhos 😘😘😘😘
Your large agave was so nice! I'm glad you were able to salvage offsets to plant in pots. And good thing you were able to discover the leak. All your potted cacti look great. 😊
Thank you so much dear Anna... I was sad to have to discard it because it was a gift from a friend living in Texas USA but keeping a couple of pups is not losing the plant. It's best period was when it was still médium size. Hope you are having a very nice week 🤗🥰😘
Thank you so much Elke. It is true that orchids benefit from being grown outdoors during summer but this hybrid type of cultivation like mine is, is the most difficult. Nothing like having a green house or a proper space where they don't have to adapt to diffent environments twice a year 😃 But we do what we can with what we have. A great rest of the week to you 🥰❤️🥰❤️
😍Vecina favorita 😘the angle of the sun is really something to be totally aware of, because it is still quite warm. I wanted to suggest that you make tequila out of the agave heart 😋😅 what a beast of a plant. Wow! It was quite the task to get that out. Love the space, the way it looks now as well. You really did work hard to get it looking so tidy! I hope you did not hurt yourself 🙏🏼 thank you for another wonderful video, amiga mia! Hope your day is already going beautifully for you 🫶🏼❤🌸
Hi dear Nina 🤗😍 Thank you so much for taking the time of your busy days to watch and comment, much appreciated 🥰. I was so sorry that I had to out this agave down. Everything I don't want to grow too much in my garden, grows to the point they have to go 😛 Tequila would be nice, that heart was nice and certainly juicy. It was a hard time for me though, making holes and moving heavy pots around. Sadly it was not the only time because the pipes were placed here 25 years ago and should be getting worn out. But not only that, too many roots of trees and bushes have damaged them along the years and very often leaks happen. The tube my husband mended has another leak but in a different place which I've noticed a couple of days ago. So I had to move the pots again and I am in the process of digging again. This time we called the plumber but he won't come before the end of the month which gives me time to do the digging a bit every day. But as the watering system is off I have to water the garden with the hose. It also happens summer finally arrived and for a couple of days temperatures are around 30 C. Not for long but it feels nice for a change. Sending you much love, hope you are doing well and wish you a delightful SUNday. Hopefully soon we can resume our weekly chit chats 😃🥰😍🤗
So sorry you already had to bring your orchids indoors. But you have that wonderful green house. I wish I had the proper space to have one too. We asked for the estimate cost of reducing the pool into half which would give us the space for a green house. But the cost was outrageous, more than building a new pool. Besides, all work involved with machinery and workman going thru would simply destroy my garden. Here nights are getting a certain chill I am not please with 😛 But not bad, around 16C and days are around 21/22C same as it was in summer. I hope I don't have to bring the chids home anytime soon 😃
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids haha yes it is very crowded now in my greenhouse and also in my house. But I also like having them in the house, so no problem there. Shame about the cost of installing a greenhouse, everything is outrageously expensive these days😅
Haha! I don't think I could have parted with that Agave! But I understand that it was taking over everything. How long did it grow in that spot? Love the cacti!!!
It was a beautiful specimen but it was already "eating up" my space. I kept a small piece which I am growing in a pot which will allow it to grow to a beautiful size although manageable 😄💝
5:07 I wonder why the blue agave grew so well. Maybe it's genetics? I love it when plants get very bushy and big, but I can understand how space can be an issue.
This agave was a gift from a friend who lives in Texas in the US and she has them in her garden. I should have asked how large it would grow but I wrongly assumed it would be a médium size one because my friend knows my garden and my space. As for the reason why it suddenly grew so much I don't really know why. I assumed the crack on the irrigation tube was caused by the use of a picaret to remove the agave. However, if there was already a leak that kept the soil under the agave humid, it helped it to grow so much and throw so many pups. Agaves don't like much water but it could be just a small crack on that tube and the crack could have become larger as the dirt was moved about. This is just aa assumption, I guess we will never know 😃
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids I tried to grow an aloe vera two years ago, but it rotted after bringing it inside during winter. That's when I was first getting interested in plants and I had little experience but some knowledge. It was in a pot that was too large and then the soil became too wet after I tried to get rid of fungus gnats.
@@Joe-nj3bbyes, succulents have shallow roots and also as they store much water in their leaves they hardly need any watering. Someone Said they are the closest to plastic plants 😅
They sure are, maybe because their leaves are thin. But it is very annoying that most orchids show blemishes on their leaves, not just Oncidium. Except for those that grow orchids in sheltered environment like a green house. Kisses 😘😘😘😘
