    I am relieved to hear that, while you had a lot of rain as well, that you are not affected by any floods or damage to your property 🙏🏼 the blue skies are so lovely, vecina favorita! Your After Dark looks amazing! Going to keep my fingers crossed that you will finally get to see and smell the blooms this winter 🤞🏼 thank you so much for the shout out ❤ hope your day was beautiful ❤

      Hi dear Nina, thank you so much 🙏💖 I do appreciate that you took the time and patience to watch my video and comment. I am glad that day temperatures are still the same, the only differance is that it gets dark at 5 p.m. which is so depressing. It rained for the past 2 days but it was mild rain, the kind we like. Clouds and sunny poeriods today. I hope you are having mild weather too, not much shuffling around needed to give your body some rest after all the effort it was subjected to. Take care, amiga mia, much love to you and yours 😍💖🤗🥰

      Thank you so much. Rain is much needed here in the Iberian Peninsula because many regions are suffering from severe drought. However when it pours non stop for a couple of days equivalent to 2 years or more, it's disaster especially when it happens in large cities like Valencia. Natural phenomenons like this are rare but they are bond to happen but cities are not prepared. These days construction is allowed everywhere, not taking in consideration the water drainage lines. Have a great week Eelke, and happy growing 💖💖💖

    I’m not potting any of mine since what happened to my coelestus blue after potting. But they do very well for a time too. So mind boggled. Funny to imagine how it looked like when you were batting the leaves down 😂

      Yes, it was funny to brsh the leaves but I was not expecting some of them to be so stuburn 😂 It might be because the colds have not reached us yet. That part, I like. I hate the cold but I am not comfortable with too much heat either. This lady here is hard to please 😬😏😂I hope you are doing well, much love with huggggs 🥰🤗😍

      Hi Troy, thank you so much for your kind comment, much appreciated. Interestingly, so far, Phalaenopsis are loving pumice better than the Cattleyas. I thought it would the other way around. Still so much to learn about orchid behaviour. Considering all the variables, a very challenging hobby. Have a great coming weekend 😍🥰

Beijinhos e bom cultivo 😍🥰🤗

    Thank you for showing the start of the spike on the Nodosa I was wondering how and where that starts. Almost no one shows how a spike starts everyone always shows flowers or big spikes and both are obvious. Please keep an eye on the Rynchostylis that one is also a mysterie to me, I got mine with flowers but no idea how a starting spike looks 😁

    • @FernandaNascimentoOrchids

      If ever my Rhynchostylis decides to bloom again, I will make a video of the emerging spikes. When they start, on the axil of the leaves, it looks like a bunch of tiny grapes.Till last year when this orchid decided to lose leaves, this was a great bloomer, blooming every year around January. I even had two spikes at one time. It did not bloom last year though which was a disappointment, maybe it will bloom again soon 🙏💖

      No one likes winter, that is true 😂 Terrible what happened in east of Spain/Valencia, so many people still not accounted for. Other places south of Spain was not so bad but still very damaging. From what Nina told me, she got her power back and I hope it stays that way. These days we depend most of all on electricity. Without power our way of living is frozen 😏 Have a beautiful day, Joe and thank you💖💖

    I just love how perfectly curated your collection is! I love "dropping by" to have a look.
    Quick question concerning the deciduous Dendrobiums: how do you water them over winter? Same as during summer or do they get a dry winter rest?

    • @FernandaNascimentoOrchids

      I still water my deciduous Dendrobium during winter, using plain water from the moment they stop growing in the fall till they show signs of nubbins by late winter. From then on, I add calmag to the water, to give buds a push, at around 150 ppm. As for the water frequency, it depends on how much direct sun I can give them. During winter they need more light mimicking nature as they live in trees that lose their leaves during winter. Summing up, although I reduce water amounts and let them dry up for longer, for ex two weeks, but I still water a bit to avoid dehydration of the canes. In their native habitat the rains are less frequent in winter than in summer but they still get some.
