      It looked great but it did not work. This Dendrobium is a difficult hybrid and it did not like the palm tree. I ended it up moving it to the olive ttee and it seems to be doing better. Thank you Denise, much appreciated 🥰😘😘

      @@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Here in Northern Belgium, we finally are getting dryer and warm weather now, this morning I really enjoyed going out for a nature walk.
      Now it's back repotting and rearranging the orchid room with the windows open and the sun shining in.

    Nice to see an overview of your garden again. I remember when you had your vegetable garden in that space and then all the hatd work to put your succulents and caxti there. It has certainly seen a lot of changes over the years. Good to see all your orchids doing well in the areas you have allocated for them 🎉 beautiful day there at the time of filming and hopefully today as well, vecina favorita ❤❤

      Hi dear Nina 💕 25 year ago we asked a pro to make the garden and then it was just a lawn and three rocky beds, the palm tree, the lemon verbena ( which was already here) and a eucaliptus which soon grew out of proportion and had to be digged out. And it was it at first. The alterations I made are countless, the large blocks of stone I carried were fun at the time. The money I spent on plants over the years and which did not do well in my climate would probably be enough to build another house 🤣 Learning by making mistakes.... I don't have all that strength any more which is so sad but at least I now can enjoy the garden more although on a different way. It was a great thing to have the river rock also on the vegetable garden. I placed a few pots there and I still can grow some vegetables on them although I have not planted them yet.
      We were having lovely weather till this morning but sundenly it got dark, thunder and soft Rain. Unfortunately I don't dare placing the Cattleyas in the rain because hail has been mentioned. Desert sands are coming over this way too. I must checked and the Oncidium are getting the rain despite the tree canopy. Also the Dendrobium are getting a flush. That's nice, I don't have to spray them today. Btw, the gloriosa is glorious. I kept the tubers in the pot all winter and covered them to stay dry from the rain all winter. Surprisingly, when they sprouted early spring I realized that all tubers migrated to the edge of the pot. I wonder why, maybe they feel more comfortable there. But they grew longer than last year and are blooming beautifully. Thank you, I love them. Have a wonderful weekend, amiga. I hope I can stay awake for tomorrow's live. No notification received, though. Much love ❤️❤️❤️❤️

      @@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Thank you for reminding me! I have forgotten to water my lilies for the past days! I have neglected them, now that they are in an area of the patio where I rarely need to go with my watering can. I also did not lift them this winter, because of the rib issues etc and only 4 came up, out of 9. I will have to lift the ones I have this coming winter, or else I will loose them. AND, your idea about covering the pot, that is a great idea and I am so happy that you are enjoying them, that they are growing well for you! The old tuber dies off after one season, and while the vine is soaking up the energy before it dies back, it grows a new tuber. Yes, they will always venture to the edge of the pot so, if planted in the garden they will appear where not expected! Like the bletillas, most of the new tubers have grown to the edge of my bowl. It is going to be interesting to see what they do next year because part of the substrate is lifting itself away from the side of the pot 🫣 I can see the sand accumulating, but thankfully, no rain! As long as it is warm... it is the perfect combo with the sahara sand!! Deluxe for your plants! ❤

Aqui graças a deus não caiu granizo...Beijinhos 😘

      That is so sweet of you to say so. My garden was just a lawn at first and it was fun to make all those alterations. My husband complains that while everybody throws away the stones they find on their estate, we are the only ones that are bringing more stones all the time 😃 But I love stones...

    • @MattbyNature

      @@FernandaNascimentoOrchids And honestly, the way everything is set up with the stones just ties the different beds and areas together so beautifully. My parents habe several raised beds with stones around them. I remember we used to have lots of toads hiding in there.

    Those Oncidiums are looking great, Fernanda.
    I also think the way you pronounce ‘Aloe’ is cute as all get out 🤭
    We pronounce it “Allo”. Like “hello” but without the ‘h’. Aloe also a highly popular plant here in Australia. I suspect that has to relate to the fact that you can get sunburn so easily. You can scrape out the aloe gel directly from the leaves and put it on your skin. Works amazingly well.

    • @FernandaNascimentoOrchids

      Yes, I agree. Aloes are really great for skin care. Here we use mostly the vera and arborescens species because they are the ones with fatter leaves around here and therefore easier to scrape the toxic skin. As for the way we pronounce the name, both ways are ok. Being of latin origin, botanical names are not easy for English speaking people and adaptations are correct, so I hear. I don't want to be pedantic about it but portuguese is my native language which is very much rooted in latin. When I went to school as a child we even had latin lessons. ( Latin was terrible, especially the verbs, btw 😃) So, I tend to pronounce botanical names the latin way. Both latin and English pronunciations of botanical names are correct these days and the important thing is that we know what we are talking about. That is why I always try to remember to write down the name on the screen. Thank you for your comment dear Sharon, hope you are preparing for a fantastic weekend 💝😍❤️
