Hard to say. I want say maybe ever so slightly but listening on my phone it's hard to really hear any real significant change.
It's a power cable ffs. if the psu is shielded well it doesn't do any diff. The best thing you can do if your super enthusiastic about your Sound setup is to run all the signal chain devices on a battery setup you charge overnight Or alternative use a UPS. And make sure all devices is plugged in with the live wire on the right pin to avoid Phase problems and ground loops. Power chords do absolutely nothing unless you have a faulty switch mode PSU somewhere that sends noise back into the power grid. then you can use a filter on the main supplies that dampens the noise if you don't want to spent the money on a new psu. (But do as you will have the service people of the power company at your doorstep once they find the culprit that sends the noise out. It's a major problem in areas where they use the power grid as internet connections. The noise usually sits in the same frequency bands that they use to modulate the data streams with, and it can also make sound systems behave erratically, especially modern digital power amps as they use the same tech to simulate a big old clunky well designed Poweramp. ONE faulty PSU in your neighbourhood can send noise back into ALL houses that is connected via the same transformer station. Don't waste your money on expensive power chords tho as it have absolutely no effect on the sound whatsoever. Use it on a a good UPS instead.
Hey Steve. Better late than never. That was a terrific video! If you dig the Jet Black Berries, please check out New Math. New Math was JBB prior to changing their name to JBB in 1984. New Math records shouldn't be too hard to find & when found, are usually inexpensive. Their song, "They Walk Among You", from the 12" EP of the same name, received tons of college radio airplay in Chicagoland in 1981...yeah, I'm old. I also wanted to thank you & Jon for tipping me to Home Front...just superb stuff! Their graphics seem only "slightly" influenced by Gang of Four's "Damaged Goods" EP on Fast Records. That is praise, rather than criticism.
Hmmm listening on my phone, so his may not be a good result… ever so slightly the bass response did sound tighter👋🏻🎶Lis
I've got Pangea power cords in use where the cords aren't fixed. Didn't do any sound comparisons, just wanted to be comfortable that the power cords weren't going to be the cause of any sound issues. Reasonably priced. No complaints. Cheers, Tom
The 2010 Ron McMaster cut is bright and detailed but still retains certain old school mid range, which was what Black Sabbath was all about. Kevin Gray's 2024 cut is even brighter and removes any trace of veilness from the album, but it kinda loses its Sabbath-y feel IMO. And I say that as a big fan of Kevin.
Nice picks man, especially the KISS album!
Love Slade. I have a few Gillan albums. Jade Warrior rules.
I have the"2016 Rhino" , it sounds ok, but it's a little "artifacty" if that's a word!
All killer stuff my man. What shows are you going to in October? I'll be at a bunch in the fall too but not sure the dates without looking. Lol.
Nice pick-ups, Steve! I saw the Kiss record w/o Kissin’ Time in a local record store about a year ago, and it was around $220 and I said no thanks. I haven’t seen another once since.
Yeah, when I saw the price I thought it was going to have Kissin' Time on it, but when I saw it didn't I couldn't grab it fast enough.
Good stuff. Bought the Kiss debut when it came out back after hearing Black Diamond on my local FM station KLBK outta Lubbock Texas. Took a lotta shit from my buds about the cover-till they heard it. Ironically I never even heard Kissin' Time till about 5 years ago. One of few bad marketing decisions forced on the band. Cheers!
Yeah, another case of the label "knowing better". So glad to have it though. It's not an albums I expected to have in the collection because I would not pay $200+ for a copy.
Great shout out for Sebra
Thanks for stopping in.
Hey Steve, yeah I think of Queensryche a lot like you, absolutely loved The EP and Warning, Rage for Order not so much and then Mindcrime came out and I didn't understand it, still have that vinyl from 1988 mint, but do like it a lot now. Empire is a killer album. Im still looking for In Trance. Nice find on the Overkill FU EP, I remember getting that back in 88 I think, had to have it 🤣 Zebra is awesome, yeah I think the ground rule for vinyl collecting needs to be "I Will Not Sell My Records" Cool find on that Ratt EP, that's the only one I have ever had, but I believe the Atlantic version of that is different, mix? Awesome Kiss grail!!! I have a NM of that album that I paid $2 for at a flee market 8-9 yrs ago but it's a 1977 RCA club press with that stupid extra song. My recent grail that I found was a VG++ copy of the Overkill EP from 1985, couldn't believe I saw it, could not get it in my hands quick enough!! Cheers
Wow nice score on the Overkill EP. I found a copy a year or two ago for about half what they were going for at the time. Such a great EP. I'm curious how many still exist. I believe on 2500 or so were pressed, and I'ld bet at least half are gone at this point. I wish I could just hold on to all of my records. My shelves are overstuffed and I'm always bringing in new stuff...so records need to go out too.
Steve, nice albums. I was just looking for that Scorpions album. Thanks, Chris
I think the pressing I showed is a late 70s, or early 80s pressing. It sounds great and they are not too expensive.
Always enjoy your videos Steve.
Thanks, much appreciated!!
Acid Bath rules! Great to see them have some love. I bought latest reissue of In Trance. Think it was on clear vinyl. I have copy of that Ratt ep that has bonus track "You're In Trouble". First two Ratt albums are great imo. One of my fave glam bands. Congrats for your grail! I got one of mine few weeks ago. No Trend: Dozen Dead Roses. Great punk band. They are known for their debut Too Many Humans which is 10/10 album. Cheers from Finland!
Yessir, I love Acid Bath. Dax Riggs is great. IF you have not, you should check out his solo albums. They are bluesy with a bit of sludge and folk. Really good, and not super expensive. I bought them for about $25 a piece.
@@harmlessrebel868 I have "Say Goodnight To The World". I have to check his earlier albums. Thanks for the tip. I forgot whole solo career of Dax Riggs until I saw your video
Cool stuff, that tygertailz sounds interesting got to check that out!
The Tygertailz is great. I had to order it from Europe, but totally worth it!
Funny timing, I finally found a good copy of that Zebra album just this past weekend. :) I thought I had most of the Tigertailz stuff digitally, but not that one. And wow, that Kiss find, yikes!
Yeah, still amazed I found the Kiss in a store...they would have made a lot more had they sold it online, though I'm glad they didn't, hahaha. The Tygertailz is great. I had to order it from Europe, but totally worth it!
I remember seeing Zebra in a club called Hammerheads that was out on Long Island. They had some great bands that played there in the eighties. If you didn't want to go into the city you could head to Hammerheads, the Rockaway Club on Rockaway Beach or L'Amour in Queens. I saw Ratt with Motley Crue in 1984 at a theater called The Orpheum in Boston. Solid double bill at the time. Nice grab on the Kiss debut. Beautiful copy Steve. You surely know how to find them. Thanks for sharing them all~ Rob/Boston
Very cool. Would love to have seen Motley Crue and Ratt in a smaller venue. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Zebra. I have heard nothing but good things from people who have seen them recently.
@@harmlessrebel868 I can't believe that they are still out there playing Steve. They have been around for a long time~
Steve only sang on the first Chataue lp Steve
Good to know, thanks.
Awesome stuff dude. Once again I have some new stuff I gotta listen to this week. Never fails brother. Haha. Appreciate you
That's what the VC is best for...draining our pockets, hahaha.
@@harmlessrebel868 that's the truth
First New Rays was always pretty easy & cheap to find.. Before this repress, the 2010 Sterling BG, & 2017 MoV are still plentiful & inexpensive. I think this new repress uses the same metal work as the 2010, IINM. Anyway, nice pickups! 😎
I generally stay away from MOV unless that is the only pressing out there, but I've never run across the earlier pressings of First New Rays...regardless, this pressing sounds great. QRT did a phenomenal job.
Nice video! Hendrix, Jade Warior, Dylan, Allman Bros, and Team Sleep all in one video is awesome. Keep up the great work! Keep
Glad to hear someone else is familiar with Team Sleep. If you haven't yet, get the vinyl pressing, it sounds amazing!
FIRST RAYS!! Oh yeahhhhhhhhhh ✊🏻🎸🎶 Desire a fav of mine since I first heard it back in the day!
Hey now Steve! Ozric Tentacles I will be checking out and sampling sounds very interesting to me, I’m a huge fan of instrumentals soooo thanks for the info....cheers - Lis 😎🎶
Definitely check out some Ozric Tentacles online, I think you will really like them.
Wow. Missed this video. Some nice additions. Haha. That Piledriver I bought as a new release. It’s an oddball release. Love Stone. I have the box set and several on vinyl Inc one 7”.
Yo! A non metal video. Unacceptable! 😮
You had some Amboy Dukes and Hendrix in there....just for you.
Even as a kid I thought Brothers and Sisters was too commercial. Panorama is the 3rd Cars album and Candy-O is the 2nd. Sisters Of Mercy and Madness are favorites. Half of the songs on Pet Sounds are great but the other half is Debbie downer music. I have The Spawn Soundtrack on CD and love it. The Filter/Crustal Method is my favorite.
Yeah I realized the Cars mistake when I watched the video. Too lazy to edit stuff like that out...and I'm always curious if anyone will notice when I make a mistake like that. Most of the time they're either not caught, or at least not commented on. Glad I'm not the only who feels that way about Pet Sounds.
Ozric tentacles are great. First 6 cds are in a box set called vitamin enhanced. Ive seen them live 3 times.
I would love to see them live...I think that would be quite interesting!
that panorama album is a good one, i agree, steve, !!
Yessir!
I've got the black and purple vinyl issue which is surprisingly good, I love the SL-1210 and the Audio-technica vm 760 slc, such an amazing cartridge.
Very cool you showed School of Violence! I was on a big crossover kick a couple months ago and found a copy of that album. Then found out Karl sang on it!
Good show, HR. Can't do X anymore for myself, sadly. Exene's a Sandy Hook denier & Zoom's a Trumper. I can put up with a Trump fan, but I did have to have my X tattoo covered over. Thanks also for bringing up Death... too young for the MC5, Dolls & Hollywood Brats (UK) crowd, but Pure Hell and Bad Brains were fans. Keep up the good stuff!
Thanks. Yeah, love Death...they were a couple of years late for the post punk crowd and a couple of years early for the punk crowd...too bad. Would love to have heard more from them in that era, but at least we have what we have. As far as not liking band for their politics or actions, I get it, but a lot of musicians are/were horrible people, and I wouldn't like most of my favorites if I looked at them past their music.
Unfortunately No Use arent’t around anymore. Tony Sly the singer passed away back in 2012
Man, totally forgot about that...and I have bought the Tony Sly tribute album when it came out.
Great picks. Love every band. Was it you who showed Heartbreakers: Live At Max's Kansas City Volumes 1 & 2? After seeing that video I went to Discogs and got it from Germany under 30 euros and that included shipping to Finland. One of my all time favorite live albums.
Yeah, I showed it...have spun It a few more times since...such a great album. How did you like Volume 2?
@@harmlessrebel868 Absolutely loved it!
Say Steve, just thought I'd drop by and say Hi. I don't often comment on metal streams or videos because I don't know enough about it to contribute. There's too much rust on my metal parts. LOL
We can't be into everything Bobby...glad you dropped by.
Los Angeles and Never Mind The Bollocks are top ten Punk albums for me.
Don't get me wrong...Los Angeles is a favorite of mine. I've loved it since first hearing it in the late 80s. I just didn't get into their later albums until a few years ago...didn't think they were punk enough at the time and have been listening to them a lot lately. As fare as Never Mind the Bollocks, it wouldn't be top 10 for me, maybe top 30. When I first got into punk I was all about hardcore and thought that the 70s punk was too weak, with the exception of Crass. I got into years later, but I still need to be in the mood for it.
I finally got a copy of the reissued The Age Of Quarrel. Which is something I've been wanting for decades now. Great collection you have Steve. Take care brother.🍻🤘
I was recently listening to Age Of Quarrel for my best albums of 86 video.
Thanks. The Age of Quarrel is great...my copy is a reissue as well. Original copies of the NYHC albums are getting hard to find...would love to find a copy though.
Killer stuff buddy. I'm in complete agreement on xentrix. No idea how they aren't bigger. The latest album is great too. Your record store always gets in awesome stuff. Stoked to hear you mention Stone. I really dig them. Don't have the albums on vinyl though
Hey Steve, some pretty cool stuff here!! Nice score on the Sacred Reich!! Omega Wave RSD only had 400 pressed, what a great band!! I was in a shop this week that still had 2 copies of it, not sure how that’s possible but there they were
Wow, only 400 pressed! I knew there were not many, but thought there were a couple thousand. I'm surprised they're still selling for cheap. It a killer album.
Oh man what I would give for Indepenent on Vinyl. I hope they work out what they need to work out because that record def needs a repress. Played in a few garage bands I think at one point I could play the entire album LOL. Fantastic Record. Super Jeaouls on that one.
I'm so glad to finally have it. Did you see that Heal was being reissued finally by No Life Til Metal. I have an original, but ordered the repress for the extra track. Funny you mentioned playing them in a band. One of my bands warm up songs was Surf Nicaragua.
Many thanks for all the great suggestions 🤘
Thank you for watching.
😂 oh mate you've had a knock on the head. Tankard - One Foot in the Grave (2017) 1. Pay to Pray - Likens Jesus to a band selling his wares 2. Arena of the True Lies - Social Media and being lured in to fakeness everywhere online 3. Don't Bullshit Us! - A pop at radio stations and executives who don't want play more under the radar stuff. 4. One Foot in the Grave - About getting older 5. Syrian Nightmare - Pretty obvious that one 6. Northern Crown - An alternative take on the Taxi Driver movie 7. Lock em Up - About Donald Trump 8. The evil that men display - A dig at the black metal.make up bands 9. Secret Order 1516 - History of keeping the brewing process pure in Bavaria. Hey at least you got your beer song 😂 10. Soul Grinder - Being pushed into a squalid lifestyle on the road to make ends meet by label bosses. If I don't get a reply I'll take it you're busy playing Independant and The Ritual 😂
That's probably fair...the newest album of theirs I bought was Thirst in like 2012, which had one song I remember liking, disliked the rest. The first two albums of theirs that I got were Disco Destroyer and King of Beer, which I also thought were pretty weak. After hearing those I had no interest in the band, so Chemical Invasion being so good was quite a shock for me. If their last couple have been at that level then I'll check em out, but they're batting 1 and 4 right now.
@@harmlessrebel868 Yeah all those you mentioned I wouldn't give houseroom. Try The Tankard from 1995 and One Foot in the Grave from 2017
Excellent haul! The School of Violence album fuckin' jams. I, too, bought it as a blind buy, and I've kept it in my collection for many years. Congratulations on the Sacred Reich. That bad boy doesn't come cheap. You are correct, it is an impressive piece of metal! 🤘
Yeah, super happy to have the Independent. I've not just been looking for year, but have made many offers an Discogs and one finally came through. The School of Violence was a funny one, in that I can't believe I've never heard of the album. It too good to have not heard of it.
Oh man lol! I used to have that Convict cassette way back! Loved it! Great pick ups man! Have to echo your thoughts about Testament...always solid. I know I personally have heard people say the same for Overkill, but they just have never been my jams. Still hoping to score that Forbidden lp. Have always dug them. I have always been pretty select in the trash I have gotten into. Hot and cold on many. They are criminally overlooked imho. Absolutely love that tune The Day Of Death from that Stone album! Entire lp is good, but that track just always grabbed me. Enjoy the spins Steve. Happy 4th! Cheers bud! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Overkill is another band like Testament...but I get why some people don't dig em. Even as an Overkill fan, Blitz's voice can be a bit much sometimes, and I haven't been a huge fan of all of their recent albums. Yes! Love Forbidden...never got why they weren't more popular, even with some thrash fans. They've always been great IMO. Happy 4th!!
Independent doesnt get the love it deserves. Probably just the timing of its release maybe.
I think Independent gets a bit of love...definitely more than Heal does, but they don't get enough love as a whole IMO.
Nice to stumble on this. Several records you show were bought from me: Picture, Blood Of The Sun and Atrophy... Cool.
Based on your video, I like the Rhino High Fidelity version!
