I hate video like this. Yes, they are informative but they encourage meta instead of just enjoying the game. Pull and play who you want because everyone is viable is one way or another.

I'm going Jiyan because dragon boys are my calling in gacha games it seems. I won my 50/50 in Zhongli and Neuvillette's banner and I got Bailu first then DHIL right after.

Jiyan's attacks constantly group enemies together so that should make him future proof for a bit. Venti was OP for like a year before they started adding more heavy enemies and then released Kazuha. Now imagine if Venti was also a main dps. There will always be places where AOE will be preferred so Jiyan should thrive for a bit.

I am skipping Jiyan for Yinlin because I want to make a team with her and Calcharo. At first I didn't really like her design that much, but she really grew on me and I ended up loving it, especially the puppet motif and her pointy ears <3 (plus red hair). Also I know I probably shouldn't but I'm also going for her weapon lol. Then I'll probably skip Changli and Jinhsi, but I'll have to see more of them to decide. Good luck on your pulls everyone! <3

The only question I have: In WW, there is an endgame where you simply can't get through without meta characters like in ToF, or, like in Genshin, you can get through with the characters you have, as long as they are well built and you know how to play? Because that's exactly why I stopped playing ToF. Without new/meta characters you simply can't do anything right without extreme difficulty/slowness.

I want to main Mortefi, so I'll try get Jiyan and then try get Verina for the third with the standard. Sure, Jiyan will get powercrept, but 3, 6, 9 even 12 weeks is a long time. To that end, I'm not worried about power creep for the time being when the question of my commitment to the game remains to be answered.

My plan for now is Calcharo Yinlin (Verina?) and just play the game casually. The 1.1 characters don't really interest me Hope they release hunks soon like Noctis from PGR

When you try to evaluate a Kurogame, with a Hoyo mentality this is what happens. First at all, Kuro power creep everything, supports are not the exception; they buff old units so they can always be usable, maybe no relevant for top boards, but usable. Weapons are generally a good option, but sometimes they are a must so check before pulling for a unit if the weapon is a must have because you might end with a good looking piece of trash. Kuro is a generous developer, but they are very aggressive when it comes to Meta, so if you wanna be a top player, be ready to use real money, other wise stay casual and just pull for what you like, don't try to find what have more value, because nothing will last.

the best tip for pulling is just pull for whoever you like bc if you love a character there’s less of a chance you get tired of them if they “aren’t good enough” or are power creeped

I’m so pulling for Jiyan right away, he’s a mix of Xiao and Dan Heng IL who I love both of them! So it’s an automatic pull. Idk if he sucks, his design is PEAK

the idea of waiting for a rerun to see if he is still going to be relevant is so backwards. powercreep is inevitable so if he is only going to be relevant for a year you might as well just go for him and enjoy him for a year until the next dps you like releases.

I am so excited to get Jiyan. He looks absolutely badass. Love manly men. I’m not worried about him getting powercreeped. I’ll play him anyway because he’s such a sick character. I really hope you end up covering this game and really enjoy it. I love your perspective, and would love to having it here in Wuthering Waves!

From a purely Meta POV 90 percent of what you pull off limited banners, especially in the beginning, should be supports. They last longer. I'd say that if someone wants Jiyan for his character there's nothing wrong with that. I'm considering him myself because I love his design--I'll make my final choice if I like how he plaays. But supports tend to have longer value / longevity.

As someone who uses my first dps in most gacha games years in, Ima still pull for Jiyan. I'm obligated to follow the Xiao -> Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae -> Jiyan pipeline. I'll probably just keep my head on a swivel for new supports that'll work for him as time goes on

As a dmg player in every holytrinity mmo and gatcha games i could say that i never hear someone being so wrong about a dps unit and lightup a sup dps unit this much, tbh yinlin it s cool and all but low dps and will be overforgoten by other chars in future
