    The combat in WuWa is INSANELY good! Makes me so happy that you’re covering it!!!!
    To me, I don’t think the echo farming is all the far off from artifacts in Genshin. At least we can farm for good pieces, whereas even doing so in Genshin takes forever. I feel like I level less artifacts in late game anyway so building up the exp w resin in WuWa will feel better in the long run
    Also glad there’s actually a purpose to passively kill mobs

      It's probably a more specific tag that won't drown in other common WW uses like "World War" and possibly even "WoW" since algorithms adjust for "likely" typos. Just me guessing tho.

      In its current state, wuwa farming is objectively far worse than genshin. Wuwa has at minimum one more RNG layer: echo drop/absorb, rarity/shiny drop, elemental stat, main stat, sub stat, sub stat value. There are more possible sub stats, 14+ vs genshins 10. Substats also have a greater value range. Farming level up + reveal mats require stamina, which goes to waste for bad rolls. And to top it all off there is no off piece which requires you to farm the entire set.
      I haven't even touched on stuff like not being able to equip echos with same main stat, elite mob spawn count/rate/drop rate, etc

    The combat and visuals sell me on WW, but the echoes need some work! I would prefer to not have a five piece set bonus! The farming is looking like a negative, but I’m still looking forward to playing eventually!

    8:42 I personally think the echo system taking time to farm is a very good thing.
    The combat system is already a rewarding experience if you have good reflexes. Plus the god tier echoes is more of an end game thing.
    People need to understand that exploring in this game is going to be easy and fast as the mobility of the character is very good. There will be a shortage of content if everything is obtained with ease.
    Plus the harder it is to get, the more you feel a sense of achievement when you get your perfect echo.
    Just my 2 cents on the matter...

      Plus someone in the comments below also mentioned that you need to get the desired substat 1 time only. You do not need to level up that substat again and again.
      So if you do not get decent substats like you roll def or hp as your starting substats then you can stop giving more substats to that echo and scrap it completely.

    As a PGR player, combat is my main interest in WW (well, aside of its "darker" aesthetics) so seeing the game delivers in that aspect just makes my hype even higher.
    Regarding the grinding, if a lot of people already sending feedbacks about the echo grindfest then I wouldn't worry about it too much cuz knowing Kuro they'll listen to players feedback and fix it on release, hopefully, but more than likely.

    Love the constructive criticism. I find myself both agreeing and disagreeing on some of your points. Such a breath of fresh air from most Genshin CCs who tries to review the beta. Your feedback would be very valuable for the devs.
    I see that you're improving as a CC. Prior to this, I often find you appealing to your primary audience. Now, I feel like you truly speak your mind. Your audience really notice these things.
    I'd gladly follow PGR you if you decide to cover WW content once it is released.

    Some thoughts (sry for the wall of text):
    You assumtions on the echo system are right e.g. if you max your pokeball you get an echo drop on avarage one in five mobs with mostly 5*
    The concerns about the echo system has been echoed from every CC I've seen and seem to be fairly unnanimous accross the players. One thing to keep in mind is that Kuro listens to feedback and has already proven from cbt1 to cbt2 that they act on feedback they get. That alone makes anything that is still not good so much less bad as the chances for improvement are extremly high.
    On the gatcha: I like that out of the 9 four stars you get 5 for free and the remaining four have rate ups on the first two banners.
    Have you played Jiyans story quest? The domain was really interesting, especially from the design.
    Resonance liberation is your burst so that substat roll was a mini emblem effect.
    I like your shout-out towards Life. While your takes are solid for sure there is a difference to the perspective of CC that plan to make WuWa their main game. They probably have a positive bias towards the game but they are also more invested and have thus discovered more of the intricate details the game already has. Personally I like getting different perspectives.
    I really liked the story so that might be a personal thing but the pacing can use some more work for sure.
    I don't care what the stats on my shinies are since I view them as display cases that I put on to show off more than to fight with but that might just be me.
    Since you don't have Yuanwu yet I assume you have not done level 4 of the tower yet? He's given out for free there much in the same way Xinagling is given out in GI
    Speaking of the tower, this and the holograms are the only truely timesensetive content in the game right now so I don't think substats will matter as much as people think. This game is much less a dps check and more about grasping mechanics, timings etc. Wether that is a good or a bad thing is very subjective I feel but that alone gives the game a slightly different niche to genshin wich to me is a good thing. More variety and choice for the player.

    Agreed on the world. I really want the world to be the main feature of all gameplay modes. The only thing I do not like about the endgame is that it does not take advantage of the environment just like Genshin domains and abyss.
    Leylines and mob hunting were so much more fun than artifact farming because you got to run through the world and the combat was dynamic because of it.
    The roguelike mode especially would benefit from including navigating the world, possibly even having hidden buffs or bonus enemies that reward exploration. And having to hunt down the hologram bosses on the map would be so awesome.
    So yeah, the world IS the story, so it's better to utilize the world to tell the story and the gameplay to immerse players into both.

    I'm mostly curious about how co-op is. Some of my favorite things to do in Genshin is to just wander into co-op and see how strong of a team we can make when pooling together our resources. And of course, it feels nice to be able to help out other people in coop, too.

    For 7:10 I'm OK farming for a long time every so often, but I definitely don't want to do a ton of Genshin-style world hopping to do it.
    I'd rather have the monsters respawn often enough that you (or you and others) can cycle the world in a train defeating monsters in the same world until you're all done. You put in your profile signature "Casually farming XYZ mob" and people can hop in and play without worrying about whose world still has materials/drops.
    (If anyone's wondering about cheating in a system like that, remember Genshin has all the same cheating as most MMORPGs, with the bots, hacking/selling accounts, etc. It's harder but not impossible with faster spawns: bot farms would just need less surrogate accounts to be able to farm 24/7.)

    I only have one 5 star since I got a duplicate, but that 5 star is Jianxin so it's a win. 😁
    But while I do like the character and her design, her gameplay isn't the most fun, unless there's something I missed about her.
    I'm just curious to see if the 5 stars you can purchase with the coral currency you get from doing pulls actually gives you the character or if it's only for copies of the character. Otherwise I'm really looking forward to the game's release.

      In my opinion, Jianxin's only problem is her damage per second and her core mechanic.
      Reason is, she's the only character who's not viable for solo due to her low damage percent but has good crowd control. And the other, her core mechanic is too slow for a fast phase game, maybe they should adjust or buff her to be like Encore; being able to swap while channeling shield.

      ​@@No_ex_ Her forte circuit does a good amount of damage, but it takes too much time to not only build it up but use it as well. Her dps takes a hit with all that time, and you're pretty much vulnerable while you're using it. There's no way anyone is going to be using that against more difficult fights where you die in two hits (I tried it), even if that isn't going to be the norm for end game.
      Thinking about it, the changes I would probably make are:
      -Forte Circuit can be used once it fills enough to give a shield, but it acts as a parry (not like the skill parry) and will only use a shield amount. A successful parry will give an aero counter, a small shield, and cut in half or reset the skill cooldown. Healing is not triggered from the parry.
      -Forte Circuit at max is a parry, but will work like it currently does if held after the parry window. Usage is also sped up.
      -The skill works the same except with successful parry it'll also give a shield amount of Forte.
      So parrying with the forte meter is a risky parry (unlike the skill parry), but by parrying successfully it helps give meter faster because it quickens the skill cooldown, and the skill is what gives a significant amount of meter. Otherwise meter can still be built the same way with basic attacks. I figured giving more parry opportunities that can cause counters would increase dps and give more utility to her kit that is more in line with how fast paced the game is.

    Who said the cbt1 story was better? kekw in cbt1 only had empty shock values, it didn't have a shred of substance, one thing that was better was the cinematic of the first boss because it had more choreography... and maybe they added it again for the release.
    Anyway, I wouldn't say that the story for this second beta is bad, just seemed like they rushed the introduction of a lot of things which ends up having a lot of dialogue and being slow, so cut out some of the yapping and bring back the choreographies from the cinematic battle against Crownless (which was probably cut because of resources to remake the entire story)
    oh and the story for this beta was much shorter, so its most likely just a reintroduction.

    If echoes are anything like genshin, claiming your endgame without any golden echoes is like saying your endgame before ar45 in genshin

      I am not sure if you're a day 1 genshin player but I have been playing genshin since day 1 when the only available maps were Mondstadt without dragonspine and Liyue without the Chasm and Chenyu Vale. Map to Map comparison I would say Wuwa cbt2 is better compared to Genshin 1.0. Story-wise, Wuwa cbt2 is still better than genshin 1.0 especially when Scar with the other female villain character appeared.
      Some players are basing their first experience of genshin when genshin already had newer regions and newer archon quests. That adds immediate bias to their judgement. The comparison should be vanilla to vanilla, 1.0 to 1.0, and so on.

      ​@@iloveplumpgrannies174I think the cause of issues with cbt2 story might be the translation/localization, it gives WuWa a bad light right now in most things, also including side quests and characters/weapons mechanics dedcriptions.
      But still they need to improve on "show, don't tell" practice if they want people to like their story.
      Lack of voicing also adds to the problem: story always goes with emotions characters bring there, and silent characters in main story create a weird feeling of something being wrong.

    i think we all forgot how bad the story in genshin was before inazuma, and how uninspired both liyue and monstadt are design-wise. Tbh i think they'll fix something in the echo system, foddering will happen for sure and maybe the substat resin will remain but you pick the substat to appear

      I don't forget. Mondstad story grips you early on. This story is much much worse as of the current beta. The story is only about half or less than the mondstad story, but it's not good atm at least imo

      @@TheJelloShowI disagree. The story for 1.0 wasn’t good. In fact the only quests I did like were character quests. Specifically the cook lady one I can’t remember her name. I was way less intrigued with genshin honestly. Wuwa on the other hand already has me doing story/lore speculation

      Even Inazuma has writing flaws. What truly hooked me to Genshin's story is Sumeru and Fontaine. The first 2 regions of Mondstadt and Liyue are your typical fantasy anime tropes which didn't excite me.
      I have to say though, the world quests in Genshin are better written than the archon quests.
      Comparing Mondstadt and Liyue's introductory quests, I already prefer WW.
      Also, the dialogue options and the fact that they have different replies and reactions is such a AAA move. That's one of the things I hate the most in Genshin where they split a sentence into two to create an illusion of choice but still arrive at the same answer. It's incredibly lazy for a billion-dollar company.

      my only gripes with the WW cbt2 story were: it is hard to follow when there is no VA in a language that I understand and when the subs are cutting in the bottom of the text a lot; I suspect there are lot of translation errors like the out of context variants and different translations being used for some world-building and lore terms in each occurence.
      For example, I did not get what's up with that dragon/sentinel. Was he kidnapped? Was he being returned back? Who were those people the Magistrate talked to in the end?
      They also introduce quite a bit of factions in the story and lore, but there's no info in game on them.
      I hope we get more fleshed-out story and more thought-out localization.

    I haven't watched the whole video yet but my biggest turnoff with the game so far is that the character designs feel very safe and they're lacking an "it" character that sells the game for it. There aren't any characters that jump out at you in the way that fans of other games will recognize or at the very least be aware of.
    Good examples are Star Rail's Kafka, FGO has Rin Tohsaka, Genshin has Raiden, GFL had 416, etc.
    Wuthering Waves has a fantastic combat system and what looks to be some much needed QoL for the genre but it feels hollow because there's nobody worth chasing. Fanart, Cosplay and typical husbando/waifu content just isn't there.

      @@TheJelloShowI dunno, Mona's design (pre-censorship) is iconic. Not to mention the cultural inspiration for almost everyone on the cast letting people recognize regional affiliation from attire alone. Characters are the most important part of gacha games (which is why brand ips are important) and visual design is more than half of the appeal of characters.
