It was common belief that owls used to symbolize witches, and hearing an Owl's call meant that somebody was going to die.... It could very much be a coven killing role (Im not in denial you are)

maybe it's coven protective/support that when visiting a townie with a day ability, if they try to use the day ability it gets prevented by the birds, maybe stopping execution for pros, carrying the sword/tophat away for marsh/mayor respectively, and the bullet hits the bird for dep, though an interesting point is wether they can see before-hand if they've been birbed and choose to reveal role and not get the benifits of their day ability, or if it's more of a "Do I think coven would try to go on me to prevent me from using ability" sort of mind-game.

My first thought if your owl theory is correct is "coven-flavored Spy" and idk how I feel about that.

Imagine if this role could see the specific action a townie did, kinda like a counter to spy. Not who they visited, but what they did as an action.

I predict that this new role will definitely have the entire community *hoot*ing and hollering ;) ...ok I'll go now...

i'm not gonna lie this update is disappointing, ONE new role, NBs are still gone, role rebalances that won't really change the gameplay overall that much, no serious visual changes, ect ect i'm still gonna play tos2 over btos2 but i'm surprised people are talking this much about one role

Yaknow. The Owl could function as a "Messenger" maybe letting you sent a message to a (Non Coven) player at night, Might allow Coven to send information to evils that they want to try to coordinate with I was a Star Truther, but this lil' Owl dude has me second guessing

i am actually hoping that this is actually a new coven power role, as coven power doesnt have much variety/role availability, just because coven is overpowered by coven deception and utility. any kind of conspiracies on what it does is kinda iffy as really it can do anything, we just kinda have to wait and see.

something you also didn't mention is the post also a star, owl, and crystal ball (which looks like a purple moon!) so i think you're actually on to something here

Ok, I've thought of a passive ability for this role, just off the idea of owls being messengers: hidden whispers between coven members, kinda similar to Lover's mode. Essentially, while this coven member is alive, the chat messages that say, for example, "3 is whispering to 12" won't show up for anyone that isn't coven, as long as both 3 and 12 are both coven themselves. It allows for easier coordination with Conjurer, and could mean a TT doesn't get outted for whispering to the coven earlier in the game
