One thing I’m a fan of is the doom rework. It doesn’t alter the objective of doom, nor does it make it easier/harder to win as doom. Hell, doomsayer is completely unaffected by the change. However, that extra day the doomed players get before they die can allow those people to do a lot. Instead of having 3 people on your team die instantly with minimal counterplay or warning, you essentially have 3 people told they are going to die and given a chance to fire off the last of their abilities, post one last day of info, and even carry the town before they die
The thing I like about necronomicon passing is that it unintentionally boosted Coroner, my favorite hated role. Now, if Coven is bouncing the book around a lot, you can find more of them to report the roles, and (maybe) be able to find them at night. I’m not sure how Examinations will work with book passing, but I see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to find former book holders. Even if you can’t find anyone except the current book holder at night, it’s still a huge buff since Covens that pass it around just give you more confirmed coven roles during autopsies. TL;DR: Coroner got buffed by book passing, and I love it.
Your correct about it being a buff. Each time a new coven kills it adds that role to the autopsy report. Book passing also allows for witch/pm/hm to pass off the book making them more useful to rit.
To those who are still freaking out over all the new changes: breathe. While this is a noticeable shift for the game, it shows that the developers *are* listening and want to change how they approach the core issues in ToS2 that have been plaguing it for a long time, such as role reworks and rebalances. This can only mean good things for the future and stability of the game as a whole. Excited to see how the game evolves from here!

You know......I actually love the Trickster rework! I was thinking it could be like Transporter but this is so much better and less chaotic while still keeping the theme of a mischievous prankster.
Adagia its getting so bad the cauldron is absolutely covered with mircro transactions cant buy scrools without the tome popping up cant be on the menu without seeing a board game the monetization is so scummy 80 perxent off of nothing! 2x value! I understand they went f2p but they refuse to admit its scummy and wont give us a button to remove the offers your our only hope
I think that having Tubs as a Dev has helped A LOT. I also think (hope) that the Necro passing would help people get better at the game, it forces people to actually pay attention and might help with making some of the cov roles become more fun/useful! I'm probably being to optimistic but I'm quite excited to see how people will play!

What I like about necro passing is that all the experienced players can look at the coven lineup and immediately deduce ehich coven SHOULD have the necronomicon, and which ones shouldn't (ex: swapping book off conj for poisoner until conj nukes)
I think book passing is good. It allows for roles that want the book, but can't because someone out prioritizes them, to have the book. Key roles are Enchanter and Medusa, who streamline the process of killing and using the kill to spread disinformation into one visit and not two, or Jinx who can more reliably get doublekills or kill a TProt on their target. In regards to coven infighting, there will be some, but a general rule of thumb that if someone wants the book, let them have it unless it would be detrimental (book HMer or book PMer for example) or someone else needs it more (Dusa, Jinx etc.).
i'm ngl, one of the big reasons I dipped out of watching ToS2 content (hi pipton, and sorry :c) for a while is because i'd see games end so quickly, and usually as the result of town power roles brute forcing the day phase. i used to get excited following the intrigue of a game, seeing ppls' thought process behind why they were making certain decisions, but for a hot minute (especially after marshall and socialite got added) that aspect of the game just seemed... quite lacking. these are great changes imo, and like you said, a very good sign for the health of the game. the devs are willing to listen and dial some things back to slow the game down. others may have other preferences for the game's direction, and that's fine. just explaining why i personally lost interest, and it doesn't seem like i was alone either. looking forward to watching more ToS2 content
Just had a game where I was Hex Master and town had a Trickster and TWO Socialites. While the two socs were still insta-confirmed n1 by people visiting their targets, we were able to kill the Trickster with a Jinx, and I was able to "confirm" myself as a BG on the knighted mayor thanks to a helpful Tracker. Game ended with the Monarch and Mayor getting hex bombed, making a very satisfying game instead of a lost cause. Point being, update good, looking forward to playing this again.
I love the new socialite update oh my lord. You can actually do things with it now, used to be so boring to play. Also, I think it's funny that the best (and probably only TOS content creators) are Adagia Pipetron Curtis Tuba Antics Instead of being horsemen of the apocalypse, they are the saviors of the apocalypse. (someone please come up with something better)

Fun story about trickster. In my first ever game as coven leader, my name was “trickster hater”. I killed a trickster on N1 and on N2 I targeted a trickster that also killed me. I went 2 for 2 on killing tricksters
One role I'm still not sold on is Deputy. As it is now, it's just a marginally worse Prosecutor that doesn't take up the TPow slot. Does it need to exist alongside it? IMO not really.
Yeah the Deputy one is more of a bandage fix while we figure out the best approach for fixing it up, there wasn't much harm in making it unique in the meantime tho

Edit: To be fair, someone in Vanilla Ranked Practice yesterday (I will not name the person) thought Necro Passing was in Modded only and not implemented in Vanilla. I was a Poisoner in there, so they soft confirmed me as Tavern Keeper. I did well to try and mislynch someone but it failed in the end. It was still a good game none the less. I felt sorry for the person who I kinda sheeped.
As someone playing mainly cowmilking dead games like Rocket League or CS2, it is so refreshing to see meaningfull updates for this game. I am so glad TOS2 community is being listening to.
I actually haven't played ToS at all ever since they added Socialite. No idea why, I was just burnt out, and then your videos complaining about it didn't make me feel any more of an urge to play. I can understand why everyone is bummed about the Socialite change, but I honestly couldn’t be more excited. Yeah, sure, it’s weaker, but it sounds like SO MUCH MORE FUN. Not just to play against, but to play AS. Being able to only play *part* of your hand instead of the whole hand at once just sounds so much more satisfying to me.
The first game I played as coven after the updates, night chat was pretty much a game of hot potato with no one wanting the book and arguing about it lol.
The Dreamweaver change is not that impactful in my opinion, it still suffers from the “Well, I Dreamwoven, now I’m not Coven.” Necro Passing is an absolute life saver if your Coven at times, and it’s absolutely powerful if you have competent teammates. Althought Necro passing does nerf, Sheriff and Coroner (Slightly). You should always pay attention to what roles your teammates have. (Ex. Passing book D1 to Ritualist, then Passing to Dreamweaver, and not giving it to the Poisoner.) Necro passing is what Coven meeded to get more of an impact. Also CL is a bit bugged, I don’t whats wrong but I’ve heard many bugs. Tl:DR Dreamweaver still sucks, Necro-Passing is powerful.
Tbf dreamweaver is a tough one to properly change. I will say this at least averages DW’s power out, to which before the RNG could either accidentally win you games, or genuinely single-handedly lose them 😓

I liked old trickster.. i mean i hated it, but i liked the jukes, where you can claim investigator, and catch people off, and all the other stuff.. but i hate how he can just kill you just because, die himself, and on top of that people usually were getting trickster, and imagined that they are so insanelly cool, and their role is most important, that they either dont claim, or claim tpow, or claim tk, and never post, so they are hanged because they are trickster that posted stupid info... But what more often.. trickster that either dont use ability, or dont write will..
* also, from before, coven was nicest group chat in game, like when you are coven, you are staying together. Other to goofing around Apocs, that stay away from each other mostly. Coven was sweetest usually, and having book order decided in that chat, will ruin it with 99 % chance.
It functions as both a tp and a tk, which I'm pretty sure was how it was originally. A nice variation from the TKs that are just "you kill someone and they die. or sometimes they dont"

But it's immediately nerfed again with the CL changes. You could figure out the killing ocven role and it immediately changes

modded is also trying to figure out how to deal with Deputy, but atm its not the best change.
The difference is that Deputy can kill at any point of the day. One shot does feel very weak now though.
Instant confirmation will always be super strong, although TOS has had a lot of it so it defo doesn’t always feel that way xp

Isn't the reworked Socialite something similar to the smokescreen by the Auditor except the roleblock?
Smokescreen doesn't block abilities, it just removes any feedback.

The only case now in which Marsh is better than Pros is a 3 game 1v2 where the extra vote during tribunal matters to vote out the second enemy
