There's something funny to me about the fact that flaming is being discouraged in this video not because it's toxic, but because it's wasting time you could be using to improve your chances of winning.
Worst for me is if I get a "Night 1 Rit Guesser" teammate. It happend a few times. The first time, the rit flat out told me to stfu cuz "He's got this". Long and behold he failed, got outed and, got mad at me for telling town to vote him and not a SUSd townie (I was coven that game).
Yeah that hasnt happened to me yet the most recent was a dep and pros who thought it was okay to rando. The dep rando shot me the crus and the pros did it to someone just because they was silent who turned out to be trapper. so 2 important roles and tps gone and then they said it was down to chance as a excuse. I just hate how they thought it was okay.
@@ChadWad To be fair with regards to the Pros, silent people tend to be evils, as they don't want to draw attention to themselves. Obviously that's not a blanket statement, but it's not like they just went for a random Pros for no reason.
That reminds me of that one classic game i had. I was the jailor who wasted 3 nights trying to execute someone because of a CC. The escort keeps rbing me even after i (and the LO) told the escort to back off from me because the dude i was exeing was their cc (and is confirmed by the same LO). After the escort finally stopped rbing me, i manage to execute... a jester. Got reported for exing a townie by the Escort (which we all report the Escort for throwing). The escort managed to gaslight the freaking Mafia that i was gamethrowing during the nights that i was RBD. Worst of all, the Escort said "maf i help you win" when it was a 4v3 and i got lynched after the LO dies. (Edit: I still cannot believe that I wasted a few nights trying to exe someone who CC against a confirmed escort because the confirmed escort rbs me. Not to mention that in the 4v3, the executioner who won is helping the town out of pity)
The rage can very easily take over even the best of players when actions from other players that are gamethrowing and just unjustified may seems good/neutral to them cause they don't get the bigger picture OR simple don't understand what is happening. Of course, People that actually shoot Revealed Mayors as Deputy or not vote an obvious evil when they're town is a different story. There will always be a split of people's opinions on how to handle players like this. (Firm hand or Velvet Glove kind of approach to them.) Good video as usual Ada.
The hardest thing to learn in this game (especially for evils) is that you may have to change your strategy on the fly. For instance, a common go-to claim for evils nowadays is TP. Well, if you're lower on the list and 5 people have already claimed TP, you're not gonna want to claim TP (sometimes even if you ARE a TP). The other day, I had a Bers game where I got silenced N1 and then Jailed N2. Because I couldn't speak D2 and was Jailed N2 (so I couldn't attack), it was easy to fake a Sherrif claim rather than something more suspicious like TS or TP. I remained hidden until N4 where I killed the Invest and made it a 2v2 with my PB teammate. I was completely in the clear as far as Town/Coven was concerned, because nobody knew I existed and the only Coven left had the book, so I'd find them Not Suspicious anyway. And because I was Silenced, Town knew I wasn't Coven.
True, pivoting strats is incredibly useful and imo my best skill. I can pivot through multiple claims in a single game and I think that flexibility is one of the strongest tools you can have when you're playing by yourself. I've even once got to a final 3 while claiming 4 different roles and getting mislynches, it's a very powerful strategy if you take the time to master it.
@@wraxiusgamingAnd this is one of the reasons why Vote For Alignment is such a strong Town strategy. An efficient VFA can lock Evil players into an alignment or role claim Day 2, stifling their ability to pivot their claims. When the playerbase finds a powerful tactic, even if it requires high skill, a method of countering it will quickly be discovered. That's one of the things I love about these sorts of games.
I've been watching ToS and ToS 2 for a good chunk of time now, and finally decided to buy it. But god, keeping track of every claim, visits, what happens to whom... It's a mess I gotta get used to. Yesterday, a guy was found and changed his will to "brown tracker". Now I missed the "brown" part, and decided that roleblocking them was a good idea, since they were evil. Yeah, dead chat wasn't very impressed
I can agree to an extent. While it's true that some F2Ps are simply inexperienced and make honest mistakes, a rather unpleasant minority do expressly harmful things like flamebaiting, being offensive and gamethrowing precisely because being F2P means that there's practically no repercussions. If their account gets banned, they simply make another one because they haven't paid for the game.
Day chat moves way too quickly for me sometimes, especially as someone who starts pushing for claims before the voting phase even starts. It's like, "Okay, next non-claimer is 12- wait, no, they claimed Coroner earlier. Hang on, what was 7 again? Oh right, they're Vet, the Sheriff walked into them. 4, for the 77th time, I am a Town Protective. I do not care that you found 8 with Blood at the moment, it isn't the voting phase yet, I want claims. WHERE'S THE TOWN POWER?!" and then I get shot by the Deputy because asking them for a claim is apparently suspicious. Cool!
Note: Silenced players only put specifically 3 dots on sending a message on trial, and only once (I'm also pretty sure it's the 3 dots that are highlighted by chat tags, not the manual ones, but could be wrong). Also, don't forget to Report players where appropiate. While Gamethrowing is harder to prove most of the time (the one that's Report-worthy at least), AFK-ing is very much reportable, especially when it's quite proven.
This was actually really helpful. I really suck at dealing with other players (especially when I sometimes end up being the confused player), so hopefully I can use these to try and mitigate my toxicity and actually figure out what to do.
Once when I was playing it was a 3v2 (3 town vs 2 coven) and me and someone else thought we lost because someone else hadn’t claimed yet and we thought it was a 3 coven vs 2 town so we upped the guy who wasn’t claiming and they were like “you guys are stupid, why ru upping me” still not claiming, so we hung them and then they were retri and we proceeded to lose.
Omfg I was laughing super hard with the conjuror taking to the witch telling them to target the vigi. I had an exact game like that. The witch had the book and decided to kill a Coroner instead of a confirmed Vigi with bullets.

the amount of times i was outed as a solo neutral role by coven in a 1v2v2 and town went "well this is shroud so i might as well guilty" and its coroner and lookout vs like illusionist and dreamweaver it just pains me, like did lookout and coroner think one was fake claiming and the other is just pros or dep??? because they would have launched a shot off with the game seemingly a 1/4 chance of being wrong lol it just pains me to watch the coven win instantly after i get lynched so frequently, even if i've not been caught, sometimes they just hard read my exact role, like i could claim so many roles and still be guiltied, nothing short of a mayor or other type of tpow reveal will convince town otherwise, even if i've more often been town
It's really hard to deal with new players having egos. Very recently I got Veteran and I said very obvious vet bait (noone fell for it), but at the start of D2, I INSTANTLY get shot by a Deputy. The entire game the chat and dead chat was just flaming the Deputy. I wont deny I also took part in it, specifically because the Deputy's reason for shooting me was "You were sus" and was blaming me for being sus. We were confused if it was a game throw or whatever because they shot me with no info, or any actual good reason. Also because my vet bait was "mean." But, yeah we were telling him to at least ask for a claim, or get info first before you shoot. And he just wouldn't listen and acted like he did the right thing. I'll understand if it's someone who genuinely thought it was the right to do and admit their faults, but being constantly defensive and not taking initiative that you messed up is really frustrating lol. The next game they reghunted me and did the same thing, but this time I was evil. Lucky him.
The thing is with confused players, is the aim of the game kind is to confuse the other players. I've been told I've done something stupid because I was duped. That's not something I'm proud of, but it's OK to be outplayed.
I almost exed a crus claim because they waited until the last second to claim on like day 4 and didn't had a will or a crus kill and they claimed to be new but I was roleblocked. They ended up being legit crus. (I later kindly explain how important it is to keep up with a will in this game)
Being free to play actually adds in a lot of game throwers. I'm happy they have an energy system to reduce the number of games they can play. The thing about game throwers is that they haven't spent any money on the game, so it's not a problem if they get banned. Once you put even a little bit of money into it, having your account banned sucks. This is why in TOS1, coven rarely ever had game throwers, but classic would have game throwers daily.
As what would often be called a “bad player,” I second the “please be nice, even to bad players” at the end. I mean, I personally stopped playing ToS a while back (though I do enjoy watching it from time to time). I’ve never been the greatest at scumreading or deduction, and although I tried my best, I ended up as the “confused player” quite a bit and often botched fake claiming as evils. I could never quite seem to get the hang of it. Once, I messed up as town and lost us the game. One of my town members proceeded to tell me to off myself and that the world would be better off without me. That was the last straw, and I quit not long after. Some people really need to see that this is just a game, and please, be nice and civil to your teammates, even if we’re not good at the game. And never, never say anything like that. You could actually end up getting somebody hurt.
3:49 Actually here with these try and deceive them into helping town. For instance lie to a gamethrowing deputy that a player you know is evil but can’t get upped is Tpow to bait them into shooting said evil instead of the tpow they thought they were shooting
played a game where a medusa gave the names and roles of every coven member recently, i couldnt do much to lie cause an sk killed me night 1 and they hung all the outed coven, we reported the medusa, they said that playing this way was more fun then the normal way
The problem with gamethrowers is the ones who aren’t banned act like confused players and that’s how they get away with it. I will report people when they make obvious bad plays (like deputy shooting the person who the sheriff who was shot by a veteran visited N1) and explain to them why that play was bad so that way the report can be on file and can be used as evidence if they repeatedly make the same or similar bad plays since it’s not hard to learn from your mistakes it’s likely they are intentionally throwing rather than just being confused. In game for people who no matter how many times you explain things to them they still act confused is to for that game just treat them as though they are a gamethrower (they could also be an evil or a jester so it’s probably best to vote them anyway if there are no other leads).
I remember my first real "Ranked" game in TOS 1. there I tried to claim Med but wrote the name wrong of a person that´s dead. that lead to my mafia team getting rolled as Jester was already out and I was GF. in retrospect it is hillarios af.

I can't tell you how many games I've played where a Conj/Dep/Pros, hell all 3 sometimes will just use their ability instantly. Steer the sinking ship into ramming the enemy port
good to know tos2 players can be dense as well(I only have tos1)
great video!
once i was ww (in tos1) i was found d4 but there was one person afk so not enough votes so i won
hey if someone’s confused you always could throw them under the bus to confirm yourself 🤫
But that needs to be coordinated or it will go poorly
All fun and games until the confused player says something along the lines of: "(Your number) is throwing, they pushed me when we're on the same team"
@@Missingno_Miner huh it’s almost like I ran into that problem as well
@@unknowed5048 yes
I claimed trapper with a will like this in a non coven game
N1-3
N2-4
N3-7
N4-7
My teammates bussed me XD
If witch purposefully outs all the mafia members in her will after dying, is this gamethrowing?
It's not gamethrowing at all because their chances of winning is impossible at that point and can't be lowered. However it is heavy frown at and it takes the fun away for everyone else
I'm number one1 0:47
Heyyy
btw im one of those bad players
(i just suck at the game)
You flame them and tell them to uninstall. Right?
Why did you make this video about dealing with me >:)
If u can't beat them join them, become the most infuriating team mate, post wills in a non standard format & post it late, delay voting until the last second & vote innocent on everyone because its a jester conspiracy.
found the thrower
Found the thrower
This game is just a bad game, among us is way better
