Daniel's been a bit of Frostpunk enjoyer for a few years now. The sequel just came out! How does it hold up to the original though? Daniel's gonna break it all down.

Frostpunk 2 is a city-building survival video game developed and published by 11 Bit Studios. Set 30 years after the original game, Frostpunk 2 tasks players to take on the role of a leader in an alternate history early 20th century in order to build and manage a city during a catastrophic, worldwide volcanic winter that almost completely destroyed human civilization while making morally and politically controversial choices to ensure its survival. The game was released for macOS and Windows PC on September 20, 2024, with a planned release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S later in 2025.

You highlighted many reasons why the 2019 remake of The Lion King has been a major disappointment since I saw it in theaters with my brother. I was born in 2000 (and my brother was actually born in 1990) but The Lion King (1994) was my favorite movie and still is in my top 3. I'm a little disappointed that you didn't mention the horrendous butchering they did to "Be Prepared" as a whole and the lack of emphasis on the musical elements as a whole, but that leaves room for someone to rant about it. Maybe I'll make my own video on it some day. The plot point of Scar being an "incel" was from the deleted scenes, but they also included it and Nala leaving the Pride Lands in the Broadway retelling of the movie and they made it good and relevant (they even added in two songs that showed this more: "The Madness of King Scar" and "Shadowland", the latter is my all-time favorite Broadway addition)! They not only disrespected the OG TLK, they also disrespected its Broadway reincarnation. The only good thing I can say about "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" in the remake is that the ending borrows Nala's harmony from the Broadway version. I actually did like "Circle of Life", it still made me cry in the theater, but you're absolutely right that the visuals are not nearly as strong so it still feels lesser as a result. The disrespect to the animators from the old and new versions on top of all this is extra disrespectful and Walt is probably ROLLING in his grave. 5 years later, and I'm still massively disappointed and feel nothing but disrespected by the remake. I'm so salty and petty about it, that I'm glad Mufasa is getting awful reviews now that it's out. I knew it would be trash because it's following up this dung pile. 😂😭 It's a shame Disney is so focused on killing artistry and artists for the sake of making a quick, undeserved buck. I'll always love and respect their art department, but the CEOs and financial department can actually metaphorically perish and I would be glad. They are killing the company that once cared about the happiness they can bring and spread. All of that is to say, I vehemently agree with the points you made, and great job synthesizing all of your points into this video! 😌

You might have forgotten but the king's song as bad as it was he invited these people to live on the kingdom he created and don't have to pay rent and live there for free. A kingdom he created after he lost his family and home to pirates, basically a safe haven and that he invited these people to live there after it was created. So, technically they turned a guy who did this and he wanted to be respected into a villain. Also, not all the wishes was good as one showed a possible conquer/explorer who was planting a flag on unknown lands, sounds familiar?

what i feel like it would make the whole "we have no idea what gets sinners into heaven" so much better, is if the defining thing that makes someone go to heaven/hell is what sin they committed while on earth. it could make for some genuine commentary on mental illness and if people with ED's/SUD deserve to go to hell for gluttony, NPD for pride, most disorders for wrath, etc. it could also keep the ambiguous rules and what truly does count as those sins. it also would make the reason for why the main cast is in hell clearer. this would make each individual character more cohesive within themselves and give us, the audience, something bigger to latch on to. Husk can be gluttony, Angel could be lust, and Sir Pentious could be envy to some extent. this could be genuinely great. too bad Vivzie is shit at writing.

I have a lot to say, seeing as the Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie and Ariel is my spirit Disney princess. I’ve been a big fan of Ariel once I was a little kiddo watching tapes of the animated series and reading my Little Mermaid Treasures books. It even gave me a severe case of redhead envy that still hasn’t gone away. I like her because she’s a lot like me. Curious, adventurous, headstrong, compassionate, and has a lot of issues with her dad. Your mention of LGBT culture is spot on. Not just because of Howard Ashman but because of Hans Christian Andersen himself. I’ve heard it said he originally wrote Mermaid as an allegory for a homosexual love he held for a married man. I wonder if Mr. Ashman knew that when he was penning the lyrics for the songs? Now, that said, I feel Ariel’s interests in specific could be a stand in for any outsider interests. For me, it was geek culture. I likened her collection of human things to my collection of comic books and superhero memorabilia (I grew up in the 2000s, when that stuff wasn’t exactly cool). And like Triton, my dad hated my interests. He thought it would ruin me socially if I kept liking the things I liked. And while he never broke any of my things, he would threaten to when he got angry enough. The scene of Ariel’s things getting destroyed was always deeply unsettling to me. The difference between Triton and my dad is that, if things came to a head for me like they did for Ariel, my dad would use it as an I-told-you-so moment rather than seeing he was wrong. Oh, another thing! The people who say “don’t give up your voice for a man” out of one side of their mouth and then say “Father knows best” out of the other, they say that Triton was right, that Ariel almost got killed. But it wasn’t humans who almost killed her. It was Ursula who, banished or no, is of the sea. A human actually saved Ariel, Triton, and his entire kingdom. There are bad humans, yes, but there are just as many bad mermaids. Speaking of Eric! A lot of people say he has no personality. I’ve seen “Ken doll,” I’ve seen “generic,” but he’s anything but. He just doesn’t use a bad attitude as a replacement for a personality. He’s a romantic (wanting to find true love rather than marry some pretty airhead with a title), adventurous (he’s clearly a seafarer at heart, and the musical implies he and Ariel might sneak off to sea as king and queen), friendly (the *prince* spends his birthday partying with common sailors), humble and kind (he hates the “noble” statue Grimsby commissioned of him while still being polite about it), he loves his dog (and who can fault that?), and he’ll risk himself for the people (and animals) he cares for-a trait that, as this video mentions, he shares with Ariel. And he loves Ariel BECAUSE of her voice, though not FOR her voice. He fell in love with the girl that saved him but only had her voice to go on. He fell in love with Ariel even without her voice, but he’d never have asked her to give it up. That was all Ursula, who wanted her voice because it would tilt the scales definitively in Ariel’s favor. And Ariel still almost won. Ursula had to pull out all the stops just to get ahead where, as we see in the deleted scene with Harold, she usually just has to get them to overlook something seemingly minute but crucial (a flower not in season). So was Ariel rash? Yes. Did she take a gamble? A big one. Was it stupid? Maybe, but no guts no glory. I just feel like these critics, especially people with big platforms and no filter like Knightley, should learn some media literacy before they talk down on a movie that’s leagues better than the one they’re promoting.

Out of all the things they could have done, making the city building larger in scale was the best idea. It really hits home that the end of the world survival is over, now its time to expand or die trying. My only gripe is that they never really developed consequences for the aggressive expansion on the overworld. You don't meet new leaders that have their own ideals and motives. Instead they're just POI's or scripted events. I was hoping you'd have some sort of competition to challenge your expansion. Like the slaving guilds, the wanderers and the hot springs refuge having their own goals and territory that you'd need. That would retaliate if you got too big, greedy and/or ideologically opposed. Though that's 100% my own opinion and I love the game to death despite that gripe.

6:05 Mandrake Roots were Used historically By Jewish During Pregnancy in Milk bath for Making Rats Staying Away from Pregnant Women and Newborn Babies, after the Critters being Numbed or Killed by having Drunk the Poisoned-Milk.. Pagans, which used Anticholinergics Poisonous-Plants as Contraceptive/Hallucinogenic/Will Inhibitors during Sexual Rites in the Forests, rejected this Concept.. 'Violently'. It sounded to them Unreal to Use such Substances for Protecting the Pregnancies... mostly when they couldn't manage to get pregnant due the Undue Heavy Internal use of the Poisons themselves did, easily leading them to Miscarriages. For such reasons they often Denounced the Jewish People for the Use of Such Practice, giving Signs not only of Cerebral Unbalance, but also of evidently Expressed 'Racial Hate' towards Jewish&Semites.. [Also considering the majority of the times, those same Pagans were the ones selling those Dangerous Poisonous-Drugs to Jews, because they were the only ones Consuming those Drugs in Large Quantities for their Pagan Deities Divination/Veneration.] This lead them to Subverting the Original intentions and Uses of the Jewish Traditions, denouncing them to the Christians authorities and Most of Time, with the Conniving Complicity of Marginalized Relatives within the church, the Conniving Inquisitors/Templars started an Hard to Stop Violent Persecution Campaign..made of Subversion of Means, Subversion of Words, and Defamatory Misinformation/Malinformation.. ...Malignant by all Means. [Which could have been Stopped by Defining the Pagans for whom they were alongside their Relatives internal To the Church...as it happened in the 14th Century when Pagan Idols Venerating Templars were Burnt Alive After Having Admitted the Participation in pagan rites voted to the Veneration of Baphomet, alongside the Usual Pagan Practices of Poisonous Substances assumption during Pseudo-Ritualistic Orgies] In their Inhumane madness they were Protecting the Jewish Babies from the Insanity of theirs Families... Trace of such uses could be found even by Biblical Enemies of Jewish People likewise Philistines and Moloch Venerators... Also by the Times such usages were Attributed to Jewish, Erroneously...as for the Outcasted Tribe of Jeroboam's Dan... likely Themselves being just Hybrids between Canaanites and Philistines from the Coastline... Still Expressed in Biblical History, even if Regarded as Enemies, or Betrayers of the Abrahamic Rites. Sadly this Trends Through time, instead of being Stopped with the Same Violence they were Perpetrated, exacerbated in the Main Psychiatric Currents.. By now Children can be Given Anticholinergics Drugs exploiting some Really Devious Legal Loopholes Denying all the Human Rights Previously Established by both Religious and Political Institutions.. If we were in ancient times such things could be Resolved by more Pragmatic Figures of Costitutive Power by Setting Ablaze Pagans and Violent Psychiatrists with Abusive Thoughts in the Streets for Giving an Exemplary Punishment and Ensuring the Non-Proliferation of the Threats... Even Classic Contenitive Institute as Jails would Work For the Most of them... But Likely Government Misunderstood their role..not that those Figures [even amongst Governative Ranks] Didn't Produced themselves as Active Antagonists to the Human Society... It's that They weren't Publicly Described as Such if not From The Previously Established 'Rule of Law'... Which they have subverted completely and Seems to not Apply to them At All... Like if the most Horrible Crimes were Always Permitted and The Judgment of Humankind Couldn't be Applicable for their Self-Defined "Superior Race". 'The One and Only' which Received this "'Special Treatment"'.. [This Events Alongside the Spreading of Fascism and the Normalisation of Antisemitic Ideologies (Zionism Extremism among those) Devastated and Harmed me and My Family so much I forget this Movie had this End..] Unless it was Cutted out.. ..in any case it Express a Fantastic View over Reality for Mellowing the Tragedy of what happened during WWII...which Is still Happening by All means mostly to Early Christian and Dynastic Jewish-Hebraic People..]

I completely agree, I really enjoyed this game. To me it felt like the perfect sequel, a really natural transition from the first game. I understand that the game feels very different, but to me, it still hits the same notes. My only real issue with the game is in the main story *SPOILERS AHREAD* Where the choices on defeating the frost and embracing it are completely binary. In a game where I often have to mix and match different laws, research and buildings all with different zeitgeists, it felt strange that you could choose only one or the other. Why cant I have other smaller colonies throughout the frostland and have deep melting drills in New London? Why do the faithkeepers and Stalwarts get mad when I colonize winterhome when New London already has warmth? I enjoyed the utopia builder mode because you can go down both routes which just made more sense to me

I don't get the argument that Amazon only gave Hazbin Hotel 8 episodes so it magically excuses the pacing. As a writer, you deal with what you're given. The first season should've been establishing the premise of the show, gathering evidence and working with Angel Dust on redemption and in my personal opinion, ending with the meeting with Adam, where it's revealed Charlie is now in a time crunch, therefore setting up the conflict in season 2. Hazbin Hotel has 8 episodes, each 24 minutes. That is 192 minutes. For comparison, Lego Monkie Kid (LMK), a very highly rated show, had 10 episodes, each 11 minutes. That's 110 minutes. When I watched both first seasons, I felt the pacing issues in Hazbin Hotel. LMK, however, took its time in establishing the main characters, and solidifying them for later seasons. Hazbin, however, threw so many things in my face, and because it assumed you watched the Pilot and the streams, didn't solidify any of the characters beyond their base personalities. This is not a "didn't have much time issue". This is a "wanted to cram everything into the first season and couldn't bring themselves to cut or leave anything for the 2nd season" issue. They refused to acknowledge that they had limitations in regards to how much they could reasonably fit into the first season and instead of "killing their darlings" they opted to shove everything in there instead. Screen time should've been focused on Charlie and the hotel specifically, and nothing should've been given to anything not relevant to that (The Overlord Meeting, pretty much the entirety of the 2nd episode). I really want this show to succeed, but because Viv doesn't want to just stick to character designs and animation and wants to write when she clearly cannot, I fear it won't happen. That's my two cents anyway.

It also didn't help that they were confirmed to have a season two once episode one was launched. They knew they were going to at least get two seasons, and yet they decided to rush all of season one regardless. Also, there is something interesting in regards to the 8 episodes of HH. (Now, keep in mind that I have only heard these as rumors, so take this information with as much salt as you want). Apparently, Amazon was originally going to give Hazbin Hotel 12 episodes for it's first season! Yeah, they were going to originally have 4 extra episodes in season 1. But why did they limit it to 8? Well, according to said rumors, Vizzipop apparently blew the budget of the show by replacing all of the voice actors of the cast with that of musical talents. Like David Keith for Husk (The guy who played Dr. Facilite in Princess and the Frog) And Stephanie Beatriz as Vaggie (Rosa Diaz from B99 and Mirabel from Encanto) And those are the top two off my head, there might be more but I can't tell. And yeah, those people are not cheap to buy, hence why Amazon cut the episodes because Vizzipop blew a big portion of that budget. Now, again, this is all just rumors, but considering that she did change casts it might not be a coincidence. And if that is true, then Viv really only has herself to blame for her decreased run time.

@cosmok-1367 It would definitely make sense if that happened and that's where the budget went. In my opinion, Viv deciding not to keep the original voice actors, as well as basically no one who worked on the pilot, and how she threw Hunicast under the bus shows something about her that's not to like. I have problems with wanting an "all star" cast in of itself. You shouldn't want someone because they're famous and were/are on Broadway, you should want someone because they fit the character. I feel like the only reason Blake Roman gained the role of Angel Dust was because there was no one else who could quite do that voice, in which case why not keep Michael Kovach? Because Michael didn't do a stage musical and Blake did? Maybe there's some behind the scenes things that we're not privy to, but it doesn't sit right with me that she would throw everyone away (not just the voice actors, almost everyone who worked on the pilot didn't come back to make the show proper) because she wanted more famous people over voice actors who, in my opinion, fit the characters perfectly fine.

i dont know a whole lot about this show, nor do i really care that much about it, but as someone thats been on the fandom side of the internet for many years now ive heard some people say this show feels like it only exists to show off cool character designs someone made on deviant art and i cannot agree more. this feels exactly how it would when a bunch of people would come up with a cool concept, they would get really motivated, might even get together a team of people, get too ambitious, and then it would all inevitably fall apart because theyre children and have no idea how much hard work goes into creating something and making it good. might not be the exact same situation with this, but from what i know, it feels similar. which is a shame, because it does have an interesting concept.

I agree with your statement that the 3rd act of Nala and Simba finding each other was too short. But what we got was amazing, Matthew and Moira’s voices felt like they actually wanted to be there and they put emotion in there, and your statement on “Beyonce is not a voice actor” is spot on. Rewatching the scene I didn’t feel the amount of emotion that the 94’ one has, Beyonce has a tiny bit of emotion but it’s just not there. Also they didnt even properly do the joke of Nalas face to Simba when they roll down the hill, there was no emotion or intimacy in the 2019 remake, she just kinda looks at Simba like “you have a bug on your ear”. Mufasa: The Lion King is coming out soon, now one thing I do like about that one is that they actually put a *form* of emotion, like they have fairly noticeable smiles or confused faces. If we talk about who’s more close to the animation of the Original than Mufasa the Lion King atleast is closer, but im not interested to much on that. Not to mention, its coming out on the same day as Sonic 3, its gonna flop, they should release a day earlier or a day after.

I love review videos like this. They help me to understand what bothers me so much about the series. Because yes, I also feel increasingly frustrated, but more with Helluva Boss. And somehow I can never really explain it. Thank you

This monstrosity of a "film" exudes bigotry. Keeping in mind that Cameron worships Trump says it all. The message I got out this was that unless you believe what I do, then you're an evil heretic sinner who will burn in hell. I can see why this "film" received such low ratings.

For some reason, I ended up watching the BWP today. Intriguing movies always lead me to look for more... and I came across your video, which was made less than two weeks ago. BTW: I also live in upstate NY. Great video ⭐️

I feel less connected to characters, but on the other side, the amount of diplomatic in-depth and expansion of intrigue is welcomed. Felth great to not know whose out for me and if I can trust other world leaders. Economic matters seem easier to manage actually, whereas Sordland demanded intricate and exhausting planning to recover the economy. Reforming in Sordland is also more hard and frustrating, but also great. Rizia, even from my first playthrough, felt easier, even though I failed. By second attempt and minimal guide use, I got it right. Meanwhile Sordland wasnt easy even with ten tabs opened and ungodly amount of threads read. As for Rizia, I love adding love interests, family relations as well LGBT representation in a way that is natural and positive. Great overall. Despite drawbacks, I love it. 9/10
