I didn't choose art, it chose me. Since the age of 5 I knew I was meant to be an artist and have pursued that passion ever since. I've worked as a graphic designer professionally my entire adult life and have always done abstract art on the side. In mid 2020 I was working on a commissioned piece and was asked if I could make something in the style of pour painting. I had been pinning acrylic pouring/fluid art on Pinterest for a few years but had know idea how to create it. Thanks to the many wonderful artists on TH-cam who were willing to share their creation videos, tips, and tutorials on liquid acrylic painting I was able to start creating work in this style and I wanted to share that experience with you. Make sure to like and subscribe to my channel to follow along my journey of failures and triumphs and see all the fun techniques I try for the first time. There will also be tips and tricks I learn along the way along with easier beginner projects you might want to try at home! fantastic , love your style
@@liaclark2393 thank you so much! 💚
I just got a tray kit from etsy, and seeing yours is truly an inspiration. I'm wondering how you cover the holes for the handles from the paint and resin. What do you use?? Thanks
@@scooper3752 I don't actually ever cover the holes, I just let resin or paint go through them.
Finally someone showing and really explaining this technique. Thank you it’s beautiful!
Aww you're very welcome 🤗
Can we use cutting board oil, for the topcoat (after sanding)
You can use it as a top coat but if you sand the board it won't quite blend the wood together like stain would.
18 months struggle with colon & pelvis cancer & needing eye surgery, finding it hard to stand & mix paints, along with the small details.. Can't tell ya how many Canvas went wrong. yep, many! lol have had to correct so many where the paint was too thick and cracked or craters. after fixing, i just resin many of those. had to put the board in the backs to hold the resin weight on a larger canvas, but that hides flaws too... also fixed as much as possible just for a smooth surface if nothing else & repoured. Also have textured the surface and then started over. learned some new tips here too though. thanks.
Glad the video was helpful!
So beautifull work 👏 👏 👏 😊
Thank you!
WOW! BEAUTIFUL, THANK YOU FOR SHARING ❤
You're very welcome
i have the exact same gold flake jar!
Love that stuff!
May I know if you are painting on canvas?
It's actually on nara paper mounted to a wood board
Thank you!
You're welcome!
What color name is the blue that you used?
I'm honestly not 100% sure since I made this video so long ago and don't seem to have that exact color still. From what I can tell though it looks like either a pathalo or ultramarine blue.
Beautiful piece! Love the greens and I loved the first cup you threw on the canvas! Fantastic!💚
Thank you! This combination is always so beautiful! 💚
Thank you this video is super helpful!!! 😊 I know it was posted a while ago but I hope you still see this comment I have a few questions! I’m pretty new to paint pours and have made some big mistakes so far. 😅 Could you please tell me what type of product or liquid to mix with the acrylic paint before pouring? Also what consistency/thickness should the paint be in order to achieve a more successful pour? I wasn’t even aware I had to dilute the paint at all so I have definitely been doing some things wrong!! Thank you in advance if you have a chance to see this! 💕
Thanks for watching and welcome to the world of pour art! I cover all of your questions in this video: th-cam.com/video/ZlH1tLPnTdE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=N1-0f1qdUXKU3K4m Feel free to reach out if more come up!

Thank you for sharing this! These are beautiful. My only issue was the stamp I used the ink doesn't seem to dry on the cork backing. It's smudging all over my fingers. Any suggestions?
You're very welcome! How long did you let the ink sit before you touched it or flipped it over? Typically I'll stamp several at a time and let them dry for an hour before moving or touching them.
@@ChromaYadi It's still rubbing off and it's been weeks. :)
@@samanthaparisestes5613 There might just be something wrong with the type of ink/stamp you're using and the back you're trying to put it on. A typical stamp on a cork back should dry within 10-30 minutes.
What kind of paint is that.
It's acrylic paint with floetrol and water added to it.
@@ChromaYadi thank you, beautiful colors ❤️
Did you paint a white base coat first
I did not. The canvas just started white.
I think it turned out stunning. I love the way you manipulated the paint and you can't go wrong with the Blues for more depth and then your negative space with the beautiful Earth Tone colors which I love both, is your base the house paint or when you lay down more white on top of the colors is that house paint or acrylic paint? I love it.
Thanks for your wonderful words! All of my white paint is just acrylic paint. 😊
What green shades are you using ?
All of the paint colors are listed in the video description 😊
How much time it takes to dry
Resin usually takes 2-3 days to cure fully
My resin piece inner side always come out sticky & never dries
What should i do
I just watch you I think you explained your technique was great. ❤
Thanks so much! ♥️
I want to learn to do resin. These are so cool. 🥰
Resin is very cool, stay tuned for more beginner videos!
What resin is the best to use
@@kellycrawford8900 I've tested many brands over the years. Currently I use a variety of them based on the project. Those brands are ArtResin, Promise epoxy for deep pour, and Mas epoxy for top coats.
Did this work when dried? No cracking, peeling, flaking? Looks great!
It did!
Beautiful paintings!
Thank you! 💕
Hi Sara, thanks so much for all the tips and know-how : )
You're very welcome! ♥
Can ArtResin be applied by spreading with gloves hands?
Yes. I typically always apply resin with gloves hands so I can evenly distribute it and feel if there are any spots that are not covered. I still always wash my hands after and use a resin remover from @alumilite to remove any resin that might get on my skin.
Hi ! Do you put something to protect the gold border?
On those I did not. They're several years old at this point and actually held up pretty well in that regard. However when I use that technique on coasters now I use paint instead of a marker and do reseal the entire coaster with resin to include the border.
Stunning!
Thank you! 😊
It says poured over dry painting but what is this about? Where is the dialogue?
This was an older video I made when I was experimenting with doing pours over dried paintings. As you can see it is possible. Sorry there's no voice over. This was before I had added that element to my videos.
Did you have any issues with doing this such as peeling, flaking?
Beautiful
Thank you!
What would you charge for a set of four coasters? I pour glass vases but i want to try the coasters! You're a great teacher!
Thank you! Online a set of 4 is $52. At in person events I usually drop the price to $46.
Very beautiful! You said you use Kamar Varnish first before resin. Is it Krylon Kamar Varnish or Krylon UV Archival varnish or just Krylon Varnish. If not what is the exact name of the varnish you used please. I'm confused on all the different varnishes. Thanks!
No worries, they can be confusing! You will need to use Krylon Kamar Varnish to seal any alcohol ink work for resin use. I also use that spray even if I'm just framing a piece.
Are you using a blow torch?
Yes after the pour to pop bubbles and activate the resin
@@ChromaYadi thank you! I love your channel
@@eloisecromwell4201 aww thank you!
How did the effect come like after pouring what to do
That's just how the resin settles when you pour it like I did
Hi there, beautiful work! How long does the board take to Totally cure...where you could place something on it? Oh, and is the resin you use non toxic and food safe? Thank you so much in advance, Kathy
Thank you! Usually, the paint will dry within a few days. I tend to touch it up several times over a couple of weeks as well, so it get's even longer to fully dry. Then I resin. And yes, the resin is safe to put food on after its fully cured. Although, I'd say with these boards people most likely don't put food on the design part, just the wood.
l am happy to refind you. your design look like very professional Like to see every paint that you do 👍👍👍hope see your painting more and more
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!
Wow very elegant thankyou
Thank you!
What's that golden pen?
In the video I'm using a gold DecoColor pen. amzn.to/3pxI6KC
Are you using acrylic paint?
On which part? You can use that for the gold edging but the coaster itself is colored using mica powder.
Beautiful colours 😍. Can I ask, what colours you used? Thankyou
Thank you! I want to say this was trex canyon rust, and copic duck blue.
I love creating realistic marble designs with different techniques, but I think I'll try this.🖌🙂
Thank you!
Thanks for the instructions. Your painting is awesome. 🎉👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯
You're very welcome!
Is that on canvas if so how does it not absorb and run
No it's on nara paper, then mounted to wood boards.
That is a lovely painting made even better by your clever embellishment. Thank you for sharing your process….I’m a beginner still practicing on ceramic tiles as I learn how to mix and move paint….but your results and the technique you’ve shared give me an exciting goal for the future. Thank you!
That's so sweet Marilyn, thank you for your kind words! Just keep practicing, you'll get there! 🌼💕
I goofed up….this comment was supposed to be on your stunning painting with the gold lines. Sorry for the confusion my first comment probably caused. 😁
@@MarilynE123 no worries at all!
whats in the blue cup where you pour some extra drops? :) like in 2:50
It's silver paint. :) Sorry in my later videos I show all the colors I'm using in my work/cups so you can see what's being laid down and when.
Can u tell me wat pigments u used
I used Mica powder, a mint color and a navy blue color.
