Abstract fluid resin pour on wood serving tray | Easy technique!

This abstract fluid resin pour made such a beautiful serving tray. I wanted to create more free form piece where you simply pour the resin in a random way and heat it with a heat gun to create the design. After the piece cured I did decide to paint the tray off camera in order to make the contrast better between the wood and the art. I highly recommend if you're going to do this, to do that step first, it was quite tedious to do at the end! I’ve been an artist my whole life. I work as a graphic designer professionally and have always done abstract art on the side. In mid 2020 I was working on a commissioned piece and was asked if I could make something in the style of pour painting. I had been pinning acrylic pouring/fluid art on Pinterest for a few years but had know idea how to create it. Beautiful, love the finish in white. Do you just mix the powders in the resin?

Thank you! The reds were just too close to the color of the wood, glad I made the extra effort on that one! And yep you just mix a tenth powder to resin ratio or as much as you need to achieve the amount of transparency you want.
