Baby wipes have oils, lanolin, and other moisturizers. As we know, oils and other moisturizers can wreak havoc with varnishes and paints. Some report divots and cratering from using baby wipes. Read the labels on the wipes.
Thanks for sharing the info. I've only ever used sensitive skin ones and have never noticed a problem with oil causing an issue with my varnish. Good to be aware of though! You could also always just spray a paper towel lightly with some water and wipe a canvas down.
WoW,,,,Thank you so much. I have limited resources for paints and supplies. However the nearest Hobby Lobby does carry Liqutix products. Have you used it long enough to see results dealing with Sunlight/UV fading? Also I have used Murphy's oil saop to clean my brushes since I use so many different brands and types of paint. Again the painting is Beautiful. Hapy Painting.
Thank you. Ive tried that with soft knit material and still ended up with streaks. Could be I used too much. Will go out and get a large soft brush as I have two large first time commission paintings coming ups
The amount you use is crucial! The first few times I experienced that as well. You really want the canvas to just barely be saturated. If its cloudy at all there's too much varnish. 💕
