  • I wanted to do an experiment with resin and see what worked best for adding color to it and how easy it was to work with in general. The results were not what I expected! Please like and subscribe. Every little bit helps! :)

I’ve been an artist my whole life. I work as a graphic designer professionally and have always done abstract art on the side. In mid 2020 I was working on a commissioned piece and was asked if I could make something in the style of pour painting. I had been pinning acrylic pouring/fluid art on Pinterest for a few years but had know idea how to create it. Thanks to the many wonderful artists on TH-cam who were willing to share their creation videos, tips, and tutorials on liquid acrylic painting I was able to start creating work in this style and I wanted to share that experience with you. Make sure to like and subscribe to my channel to follow along my journey of failures and triumphs and see all the fun techniques I try for the first time. There will also be tips and tricks I learn along the way along with easier beginner projects you might want to try at home! Comment below if there’s something you’ve seen that you want me to try I’d love to hear from you!

Have you ever experimented with resin?

Sarah, I’ve, never done resin art, only top coats on tile coasters. I love the look though I’ve seen people do “cradle” boards, I bought wood panels from Michaels but haven’t done anything with them, I 2nd guess myself ALL the time, some say they need to be gessoed some don’t 🤪 that’s why I think the tiles will be better for me to play with 😊.

@@annashaffer6288 You might be right about that. I always tend to practice smaller first then move on to bigger/more expensive canvas's.

Thank you Sarah, I’ve been wanting to try this for a while, I was gifted a set of mica pigments . Wonder how they’ll work with glazed tile or do I need to lightly sand it 🤔

My guess is it's be fine on the tile without sanding. The mica powder was so vibrant, definitely my fave to work with!
