- This is the best of the x8 platform and the price is reasonable.
with altitude hold, it is so much easier to fly for beginners and experienced flyers. Altitude hold is great for taking your eyes off the quad while a distraction occurs, and this quad does just that. Same platform as all the other x8 series but with altitude hold.

I have just bought and assembled the twin of this, looks good. How do you download the tiny card in the camera?
I need help when you calibrated compass both sticks down and left, I noticed lights flash slower and do not stop flashing yet than when calibrating the gimbles both sticks down and to right? is the right stick calibration is faster flashing lights then stops flashing. is this normal?

First I used my Sony Actioncam with their App. But it's heavier thab the Syma cam. I now I use a cheap NoName cam from China for 25€, which also supports FPV.
cool I love it have fun with mine one thing I found careing in a back pack not a good idea had to reset the headless mode plus more but with great vid like this I fixed that problem thanks

I have this. It's a good quadcopter but altitude hold when flying high is a pain. The change in pressure due to high altitude wind/breeze means that when you lower power the quadcopter 'thinks' it's losing altitude when in fact it is staying level or descending slowly. It needs a switch to disable the feature when required.

I want to get my X8HG near the top of it's distance range in altitude without losing control of it, for some real good ariel shots. How could I determine how high "About 100 meters" is? It's hard to see the distance on the ground, then imagine how high that would be.

a good way to avoid the transmitter that comes with the x8g and get the x8c transmitter is to get the bnf quad and the x8c transmitter and a battery :) the x8c transmitter will get you 300-400 meters!!!

I don't understand the HEADLESS MODE. When I set in Headless mode, I am orientating the bird with the direction that I am facing, right? If I change my standing direction, say 90degrees to the right. Is that the new headless direction (in other words, the bird is orientating with the direction of the controller), or does it remain in the original headless direction?
imagine you are in the middle of a compass, facing north.
Also, north is where the quad is facing in front of you.
quad must be facing north.
north is not the compass north but rather wherever you happen to be facing at the moment.
now, bind the quad with the transmitter.
go forward, the quad goes north.
go backward, the quad goes south.
go left, the quad goes west.
and go right, the quad goes east. All the while the quad is still facing north.
Turn the headless mode on.
now, no matter which way the quad is facing, could be west, east or south or north, go forward, the quad still goes north.
go backward, the quad still goes south. no matter if the quad is in a spin or which ever way the front of the quad is facing.
Turn the headless mode off.
now, the quad could be facing west for example, go forward, the quad goes west.
it is now back to normal mode.
if the quad is facing west when you bind, then in headless mode, go forward and the quad will go west.
if the quad is facing east when you bind, then it will go east when you pitch forward.
no matter which way the quad is facing.
so it is very important the position of the quad before you turn on the remote and bind with the
quad.

do you experience any problems with the motors shut down in mid air ?
when I try descending the quad X8HC , the motors shut down by holding throttle down only half way to descend .
is this a known problem ? or maybe my transmitter is not good .

Balancing the props can help reduce the slight jello but to eliminate it, use a gimbal such as the walkers g2d plastic version :)

don't drop the stick all the way down....or if you can go without the altitude hold, get the x8g
please could you assist in explaining how to set the transmitter to maintain altitude hold. cos anytime I fly my syma drone it doesn't stay up it's always coming down. I have no control of it staying up it always falls down. pls assist me

It's on open field as big as a soccer field. I changed the battery of the transmitter but the same. In fact I just flew it earlier and it lost signal and hit a tree and fell. I saw some TH-camrs upgraded the antennae to have better control. Maybe I should too. And there is no Ultra Voltage power line around. Nobody else was flying any RC except me. The only different from your video and mine is that I'm not using the bundled camera, I'm using Yi Action Cam and my Sony Xperia android phone is connected to the cam via WiFi.

Hello! Great video!I have syma x8hg. I'm doing the calibration every time before I use it. when i take off the quad, it is always drift to the side. never descents STRAIGHT UP ⬆. A and B propels are correct. No windy weather. Can you help me plz! Thanks! ☺
I have had the same problem on a different model the x8w. what it was the spindle where the props are attached to is where the motors are attached. when the motors get hot, the plastic base of the spindle melts and warps and thus the drift. open up the motor pod and inspect the spindle :)
hi. i have the same and there is one thing that I don't understand: going down takes a loooong time! i mean my syma lifts up at good speed for any altitude but when I press down it is very slow. it takes forever to get it back down to ground and land. is it normal when this has the altitude hold function? thanks
yes because if you drop the throttle, it will shut off the motors :)
How heavy is the camera itself?
Planning to attach a xperia z1 compact since action cameras are so expensive but the sony xperia z1 compact is very cheap and even has a 20.1mp camera... thanks
I am not sure how heavy the camera is but I add a different camera and a gimbal and it flies fine :)

The camera is very light because it does not have a battery. Its powered by the Quads battery. My Xiaomi YI action cam is just a slightly to big to put in to the camera case the X8gh comes with

this camera needs power from this quad and so no it does not work by itself...
yes it can be used as an action camera. Watch video "syma x8g drone cam mod". It´s a simple mod and works great.

I'm not sure if the factory bracket will accept the go pro but it will not accept my xiaomi yi cam or my furibee go pro clone. You could probably use the bracket that comes with the go pro and change the mount to the syma camera mount...maybe that can work....

what if accidentally pressed the left control downward for more than 2sec while on flight?? will the drone crashes? because as you demonstrated, it will turn off the unit.
yes, you do not want to do that with this quadcopter it will cut the motors.

check the props placement. A props go on the front left and rear right. B props go front right and rear left.
you will find the A or B under the props.

I would think for work purposes, you should invest a little more and go with something like a dji phantom3 standard which costs now $500 or below :)
