Is it possible to connect Gopro or any other action cam and still get a FPV?

+diydrone you guys are lucky you have each other to hang out with and fly and have these quad copters in common. I am the only one I know that flies these thins and it would be nice to have some one to talk about this stuff with. my fiance gets annoyed when I talk about quads. lol witch I understand she's a woman. Is it possible to convert a X8G to an X8HG by changing boards?

Brother, have you ever had issues with the orignal camera? My camera stays green (Led) and doesn't change it when I press the photo/video button. I just don't know what to do. It doesn't blink (photos) or change to red (recordings).
Any suggestions? I'm kind of lost :(

I personally find the stock camera very good, i could not justify buying a go pro to replace it. Imwould rather put the money towards a mavic or a 501s drone
Yeah, the gopro is a little more stable, but it's not worth the investment
Was the flight time any longer using a different camera? Since the camera it comes with is powered by the drone, was curious if that affects flight time.

the gopro really looked amazing ...would almost think the footage was stabilized in editing but I have some of the raw footage to as you know and it's really not thats just how it came out. Also just for fun the stock camera wasn't to bad either. definitely light years better than any of the toy grade quadcopters I had when I first started flying!lol

Can you control the camera from the ground or you have to start recording before take off? I was thinking of getting a Bugs 3 drone and attach a gopro or Poaroid cube.
Hi Stefano, there a several version, this one has a start/stop recording.
Thank you. I went for the Bugs 3, seems quite smaller than the Syma. Although Syma is really tempting for more available and cheaper spare parts and being able to control the camera remotely. I can't have it all.
Great, Bugs 3 has a early warning alarm if you fly too far out, which the Syma does not. If you can dampen the camera carriage, you should have a nice video. Cheers
The stock camera is great just the camera mount is badly designed. I am looking did anybody modified it to get rid of jello. I personally hate Go Pro on it because you can see the legs and propellers on the footage.
Maybe it could be set with a narrower field of view. I hate to see props and legs.

Without rewiring, yes if you attach to the lipo balance port a basic voltage alarm, but not to the receiver to trigger an alarm.

Oh, i have not flown the x8hc, but i believe you are not limited to the stock camera with the g for "gopro alike" camera.

Warning ! This drone has a throttle issue. If it is held all the way down for more than three seconds, like while landing, the drone shuts off. I had mine less than three weeks. It is destroyed. I will be posting video off it. This is a common issue with this drone.
Agree, but it is by bad design. We wrote about this disarming protocol that can cause an issue to unexpected users, it is written on the user manual. Several toy models who have transitioned to a springloaded throttle have chosen to adopt this simple quick disarm, by lowering the throttle stick 3 seconds without validating the altitude. Coupled with a controlled descend speed, users thinking it will descend faster will tend to hold the stick down all the way. Aha!!..That's probably what happened to mine. A sudden gust of wind took it high then I did the Throttle Down technique to bring it down. It was probably out of range, but it came down fast in or near the creek. It was getting dark, but the conditions were good being there was little wind. Anyway, I gave up looking for it. Anymore, I'm scared to fly a drone at night even with lots of lights. Some punks in a car were shooting at me and my drone. I felt a BB or Airsoft pellets go near my face. Where are the cops when you need them? Shooting at a drone or anything flying by power is a Federal offense.
