Agreed. My favourite part is the in the shop part of the reviews. You rarely see this in other reviews and it makes such a difference. Some comments about repair ability and cost would come in handy though. Something I feel has been missing without Scott
For those who are wondering, the intro song that starts at 00:50 is "Viriya - Boss at Nova" (the intro part of the song starts at around the 2 minutes mark). There, now you don't have to spend 5 minutes using online services to identify the song.
I think people latch on WAY too much to the old Supra, and completely disregard this one for not being a 100% Toyota product. I mean, in reality, the Mk4 probably wasn't as good as this. It's straight up a huge evolution, and still adds up that space for a heapload of tuning ability like the Mk4 had, except probably being a whole lot better. And its just like Savagegeese said, adding a manual to it, giving the interior a more Toyota look with that mk4 look except modernized, and for the love of god disabling the damn fake engine noise, and imo people couldn't bitch anymore about it. Unless they're just unpleasable.
@@diogovieira3362 for me it was the fact that it is really ugly imo, and seemed a bit souless, too close to being a rebadged z4 also. no clutch option even thought the z4 comes with one
I liked mine, traded it for a GTR. The Supra is more fun. The GTR on the road you never get the feeling the car is doing anything. The Supra even though slower feels more engaged when daily driving.
This isn't like Japanese four bangers. This is asthmatic BMW 4 banger that will never compete with Mitsubishi, Honda or Nissan engines famous for tuning.
@@idokwatcher2062 Mitsubishi doesn't make sports cars anymore, Honda only finally added torque, Subaru has the torque-less brz and antique engines, Nissan is trash across the board currently ( I drive a 370z). The Japanese companies basically abandoned us. Not sure what you're talking about. If you're seriously concerned about power which I'm not, lets bump up to 6 cyl at least. Back after a long absence, it’s now great to listen to you and Jack Singapore as well as view the (even better) videography. Got a lot of catching-up to do-
Its not that bad, but if you want to see this engine cleaned up look at papadakis Supra or Ken Gushi's Supra engine bays. Its possible to do a clean up.
To be fair to him, I think there's a pretty big difference between a track-day car, something you could take to the track once in a while, and a track/race car, designed predominantly to be driven on the track.
Toyota also said it was targeted at the Cayman, a car with a manual. Clearing the air though, a car can be designed with track days in mind, but that doesn't mean they are going to take track days with no issue stock. Early 86 had track day fuel pump, brake, and (arguably) tire problems and that car was specifically targeted at trackdays. Hell Toyota/a dealer was sued and had to pay because of it.
hyperbomb02 not only did the cayman have a manual, it just seems insane to me to target a mid engined car when the car they made is front engined. Such a different dynamic
The 4 cylinder is not only 200lbs lighter, but it’s got the better looking wheel set. And smaller wheels are better anyways. Just needs a 6MT “RS” version that’s “another” 200 lbs lighter. 2980lbs? Yes please.
The complaint about the BMW collaboration is realistically silly when you consider all the facts of what it takes in today's world to successfully produce and sell these type of cars. And if you really think about it, it's actually a GREAT blend. You borrow some BMW engineering and add in Toyota's painstaking reliability standards, and THEN price it below the cost of a BMW equivalent. I see absolutely nothing to complain about!
That’s the point. Toyota paid them hot dollars to make a good video but it’s only skin deep. I wanted a true Toyota Supra and I’m never going to consider buying one of these abominations. When owners see the values drop through the floor they’ll move onto something else. I see this being cancelled in 5 years.
You guys should do car comparisons more often (not just between trims like this video, but between competing models e.g. Z4 vs Supra). It's a good way to let your personalities shine differently while adding some more dynamic content to your videos. I'm sure it's harder to set up logistically, but just an idea.

How i fixed some of the numbness on my b58 car: Catless downpipe, open filter intake, active sound tuned out, pops and burbles turned way down with a flash tune. Really transforms the car
The mx5 was a collab car as well, but it has a dedicated manual! The difference to me is that Mazda is actually trying to build a car for the market, where as Toyota is having someone else build a car for the market & then their marketing department is trying to tell people what they want. To me, Mazda should be the example of how a collab sports car is done properly WRT preserving the manual.
I was waiting to hear Mark’s opinion on this. Im still kinda on the fence about the supra, but this update has definitely made me think. And I agree a manual would be the cherry on top. But I’m also upset they got rid of downshift blue for 2021 which was by far the sexiest color
Those saying the car is a BMW would be right if Toyota hadn't put Supra badges on it. It's now a Toyota Supra . Get over it. Right now I'm going for a drive in my new Lamborghini . Yesterday it was a 2004 Subaru but I put some Lambo badges on it last night. Thanks for the idea Toyota.
Damn Mr. Goose, I think that was the best intro so far. The cinematography and music we're incredible. You really are a master of your craft. Keep it coming :)
I've been slowing falling in love with the Supra after being unimpressed initially. As soon as it has a stick I would consider getting one, until then a CPO m3, m2 or new SS1Le is way better value.
That was a surprisingly balanced take on these cars, thank you for actually taking the Toyota-BMW partnership seriously. Objectively, it's a match made in heaven! Toyota with the precision, the quality control and the renewed passion they're showing just by actually producing a MK V Supra, and BMW who have stubbornly stuck with rev-happy, front engine RWD I-6s in their true sports-cars... Combining these different cultures and producing the new Supras and the new Z4s should be applauded! Toyota didn't really need to produce a new real performance sports-car and BMW didn't really need to produce a new performance roadster, in fact, neither of the marques really objectively needed this. In fact it's just joyous that both BMW and Toyota still have the nerve, the will and the funds to actually bring new enthusiast cars to the market. In this day and age, it really has to be commended, because truth be told, these cars will probably decrease the profit margins of both Toyota and BMW. They did it anyway! They both should be commended for actually providing serious sports-cars at actually reasonable prices, given that these models will be low-production niche cars at any price these days.
Toyota's argument has always been they are there for tuners although most agree the actual reason is they plan to eventually throw more power at the car and having those vents there means they would not have to re-design any sheet-metal.
@Sideways G Meanwhile, at BMW, all their stamping and hydroforming machines broke so they just designed the new 4 series as a slab sided amorphous pill. Looks like a Mustang they left in the oven too long... Maybe they should do a collabo with Toyota's design engineers. Find a happy medium between the insane pokemon styling of Japanese sports cars and the lately hideous/boring BMW design trend
The GR Supra is an amazing sports car on its own and I think the Toyota-BMW collaboration has came out well I still need to drive the car for myself but I do agree it needs a manual transmission like any sports car

Actually Mark, Tada-san said that, they'd pop the strut brace on when they increase the power output. He also said that, on the v1.0 Supra, they left the brace out so as to achieve a perfect "balance" (because the torsional rigidity is higher than that of the LFA), and that the enthusiast could add them because the airbox was designed to take it whilst also leaving holes for it. Thanks again, guys for enriching us with a 'premium' viewing experience (even though there were a few typos here and there).

@@kenhoward3512 yep, couldn't agree more. E.G. Ford Explorer review, SG came in from the top rope on that car!
Great to see that I'm not the only one who likes this car.
As a Toyota executive said; "There's no Toyota sports car that was loved. Till we ended its production."
I'm only one minute in and once again, you nail the score. Most impressive.
Yo this is the hottest beat you've made so far mr goose. Drum sequencing is ridiculous. Well done.
The 4 cyl would be perfect for me. Great vid as always!
The Germans at least put in effort lul. (not a fanboy of anything) hotch out
Despite turning into a bike guy
i still watch your videos because of the quality and just general trivia about a car.
Keep up the good work
Saying "Big shock there" while talking about the suspension is peak pun.
Hands down the best and most in depth car reviews on YT
I have dreamed of owning a Supra and it now feels like i can live the dream
This isn’t really the ‘Supra’ youve been dreaming of though lol. Just ‘Supra’ in badge name.
@@machina_spirit yes true, but its still a car i would like to own.
Back after a long absence, it’s now great to listen to you and Jack Singapore as well as view the (even better) videography. Got a lot of catching-up to do-
Engine bay is such a mess.....
You should look at the Lexus GSF’s engine
honestly its not that bad. All the fluids are accessable
Its not that bad, but if you want to see this engine cleaned up look at papadakis Supra or Ken Gushi's Supra engine bays. Its possible to do a clean up.
Especially the 4. Looks like spaghetti
They took the covers off.
Dude you deserve well over 1 million subscribers with the level your videos are at. Keep up the great work!!!
4:55 According to Toyota it's targeted to be a track-day weapon
21:44 It's not a track car
2980lbs? Yes please.
That intro had that extra sauce
The complaint about the BMW collaboration is realistically silly when you consider all the facts of what it takes in today's world to successfully produce and sell these type of cars. And if you really think about it, it's actually a GREAT blend. You borrow some BMW engineering and add in Toyota's painstaking reliability standards, and THEN price it below the cost of a BMW equivalent. I see absolutely nothing to complain about!
Exactly and most of the people complaining couldn't even buy one I would bet 😂
ONE pedal short of greatness.
You guys have the best production value on the internet. Love it.
These cars are so cool in person. I like bmw and Toyota so it's a win in my book
I know I souldn't but...I wachted all the commercials for Mr. Savageese. Great job!!!
Please put the cover back on that engine! It is terrifying under there.
Is is pretty scary under those hoods. Gone are the beautiful I6’s in the past. S54. 2JZ.
Stfu
all those lines reminds me of FD rx7.
sverma101 faz
Dang your production quality is insane now, best auto reviewer on TH-cam hands down
So nice to have a channel that doesn’t have that generic music of a woman squeaking in the background.
Professor Pesca can’t have a car video without drone shots and annoying royalty-free electronica
Never heard such bad music in this video

You guys should do car comparisons more often (not just between trims like this video, but between competing models e.g. Z4 vs Supra). It's a good way to let your personalities shine differently while adding some more dynamic content to your videos. I'm sure it's harder to set up logistically, but just an idea.
Shouldn’t it be “One pedal short of greatness,” since an automatic still has two pedals?
this is literally my dream car. been saving up for a while now. I'm a big toyota fan. got a camry now. but when I get some money saved up here I come supra
Three pedal update plz
How i fixed some of the numbness on my b58 car: Catless downpipe, open filter intake, active sound tuned out, pops and burbles turned way down with a flash tune. Really transforms the car
That’s my plan too , I think the 4 cylinder would benefit big time with coilovers and a downpipe more louder pops
@@xXxUrbanNinjaxXx noooo don't do that the B48 sounds like a fart box with a downpipe
@@ryadhasanahmed5443 I fart alot so I want my car to fart alot as well 😌
Who did your flash?
The mx5 was a collab car as well, but it has a dedicated manual! The difference to me is that Mazda is actually trying to build a car for the market, where as Toyota is having someone else build a car for the market & then their marketing department is trying to tell people what they want. To me, Mazda should be the example of how a collab sports car is done properly WRT preserving the manual.
Mark and Singapore, your videos get better and better with each review. Keep it up!
The intro.... my EYES the edit is 👌🏼
I didn't think twice when I looked at the title. Didn't realize it didn't make sense! Great video, thanks for the top notch production as always!
A while ago,
"So what do we have here Scott"?
"Bunch of BMW crap".
So let's meander around to the rear...
Great introduction, transitions and music.... Loving your progression in professional editing. Thanks for making great content for us!
I was waiting to hear Mark’s opinion on this. Im still kinda on the fence about the supra, but this update has definitely made me think. And I agree a manual would be the cherry on top. But I’m also upset they got rid of downshift blue for 2021 which was by far the sexiest color
Your videos and editing are the best! I cant wait until you get your hands on the 2021 TLX Type-S
Do you guys source your music or produce it yourself? Just curious
I think Mark produces most of it himself, although I believe they sometimes source music from other places.
Thanks, the production quality of these guys is great... from the aerial drone footage to the music and reviews, top notch!
The music for each video blows me away. They must put a ton of time into production.
Intro was so sick I had to rewatch it on my wide screen tv to do it justice.
"1 Pedal Away From Perfection" *
POGGERS
All it takes is 25 cents to reach perfection.
@@PianoBlackTrimRep. And a manual transmission
Nope you're wrong. The car needs a different pedal assembly for the manual transmission.
Gotta use your third leg to heel-toe five pedals!
I wish they would smooth it out and not make it look so aggressive.
Thing looks perfect asthetically. I'd want my sports car to look mean, you want curvy go buy a miata😉
Damn Mr. Goose, I think that was the best intro so far. The cinematography and music we're incredible. You really are a master of your craft. Keep it coming :)
When turbos were rare I wanted turbos. Now that they're the "new norm" I avoid them like a plague.
Exactly
I think it's because for me, most turbos aren't like the turbos I drove that I loved, like the Evo IX. Lagless turbo doesn't do it for me ahah
ronin84 just get yourself an IS38 Golf R. There’s definitely lag if you like that...
Hipster confirmed... "Too mainstream for me"
stupid take. Turbos have only gotten better lol
I love my 2022 Nyon yellow Supra. 66 years old and it's the best car I ever purchased. 👍💯👊❤️❤️❤️❤️
Toyota: " you want a car with those fake vents?"
Toyota's argument has always been they are there for tuners although most agree the actual reason is they plan to eventually throw more power at the car and having those vents there means they would not have to re-design any sheet-metal.
Ryan Taylor so you think they are going to release a more powerful version?
@@ryantaylor6530 except people who tune and race these cars already stated that most of these vents can't even be made functional
Intro was awesome! Amazing content, fav car review.
Pretty good but I'm still waiting for that V8 glory hole of a review to drop
We're all really just waiting to hear those Lexus F engines sing and Daddy Goose knows it
my nomination is the V3 cts-v , I mean its everything this channel represents.
yup, i've seen that gap they left for a dual exhaust. it better come eventually.
You are giving us GREAT images. Your videos are art, nothing less. Great job !
When you said, "Listen to that", can you clarify if you meant the engine or the speakers?
I have to say this is the best video on the new Supra!
The cinematography and the attention to detail is hard to beat!
The GR Supra is an amazing sports car on its own and I think the Toyota-BMW collaboration has came out well
I still need to drive the car for myself but I do agree it needs a manual transmission like any sports car
Yet where is the fuss of the Nissan GTR R35 not having a manual????
@@charlesbakston7414 well you see the R35 and Supra are in two different classes of cars
The R35 is a supercar whereas the Supra is a sports car
Oh and btw the manual is confirmed for the Supra and has been in testing recently
@@basithph8958 What difference does that make about two vehicles being in different categories of when it comes down to Transmissions?
If you want to go there, then the Supra A90 MK5 is a budget Supercar in that case.
The GENERAL POINT is that there's plenty of other vehicles out there that gets praises, which those are Manuals themselves.
And yes, I heard about the MK5 A90 Supra supposedly getting a manual transmission.....however, will the "I would only buy it if it comes in manual" Keyboard Warriors put their money where their mouth is?
It's just like the same Keyboard Warriors whom talk sh*t on the A90 Supra "not being a whole Toyota car", yet where was everyone when the A80 Supra MK4 was in dealerships when that vehicle was a poor seller?
Same with the Lexus LFA, which that was a poor seller, Lexus RFC, ETC....and the Lexus LC500 is about to be on the list as Toyota's poor selling vehicles! Go figure.
Savagegeese is one of the only youtube car reviewers worth watching! Awesome review
Think I will just stick with my manual c6 corvette and upgrade it. 50k is to much to ask for a car these days truth be told.
these cars are cheaper now, adjusted for inflation, than they were 20 years ago.... so I don't know what you mean by "these days" tbh
@@sly9263 he just hasn’t gotten a raise in a while
Actually Mark, Tada-san said that, they'd pop the strut brace on when they increase the power output.
Omg that intro was amazing
Am I the only one who taught that intro was freaking FIRE !! Jezz Savagegeese what a review ! GG
According to this video, these two really like to feel things through their butts when driving.
Yanno everyone hyped up manuals so hard so I bought one thinking it would be super fun and excited and now I hate manuals and prefer auto. I know multiple people that had the same experience. The facts of the matter are these days no one besides purists and hardcore enthusiasts want manuals. And those groups don’t make up a big enough market to warrant producing the car with a manual. It’s money people money.
Great car, newest BMW engines are very very good, great review
I did not expect this car to get such praise. That’s great news for performance!
