So true. I talked with a girl online for a month, then flew down there for her birthday. Well, it was all fake. So that night I got out my list of 20 other nearby young ladies from the dating site as Plan B and called one. I had been drinking. I made a date for the next morning with her, even though something didn't sound right. Well, she turned out to be my wife for the past 16 years. What didn't feel right when I called her for that first date? It was a wrong number. Yes, I was drunk and met my wife by calling a wrong number 16 years ago. We are still together. Boots on the ground! Nothing really counts until you meet each other.

I met my Filipina on-line but within a month I had boots on the ground and spent 3 weeks with her. Then I went back home and we spent 2 1/2 months video/messenger time. Then I went back for another 3 weeks. We went to Dumaguete and had a great time. Then she went back to manila and I to the US. We talk/video/messenger everyday based on our time zones. I’m scheduled again for 3 weeks in November and December. So I will have spent more than 2 months total time in a little over a year. YOU NEED TO PUT BOOTS ON THE GROUND

Reekah i listen to your content because i actually lived in Phillipines for 3months im still new at this but everything u covered i done. When i was in the Philippines having lunch with my gf and her sister who is drop dead beautiful she was chatting on line with BF in the states i was over hearing their covo he said hes gonna send 30k pesos she said thank you hunny love you and got off the phone. 30min later another foreigner came to our table he was very respectful and ask was i with my gf sister i said no. So started to engage in conversation with her dont know what he said to her 🤔 but she got up and and started to walk around the mall with him. To this day her online BF never showed up and she lives with that other guy. 😂 all you guys on line hear this your online GF isnt waiting for you first come first serve i seen it with my own eyes. When I visited my 'girlfriend' in 2016, I learned very quickly that I wasn't in the top ten of her priorities. Because it was my first time in the Philippines, I didn't know that her not meeting me at the airport on arrival was already a very bad sign. Waiting three days to meet me, leaving me alone in Cebu for three days? Brave or foolhardy? She had family in Cebu, and I learned by watching that her family was much more excited to meet me than she was. She was a mother, and clearly the boyfriend had left a year or more earlier. Live and learn, or you won't live long.
Of course, her introducing me to her family was 100% a good sign, and I got to learn a lot during that trip, including a few things that are now non-negotiable in a future girlfriend or wife.

after trying to chat online and build a long term relationship I agree with what you are saying. BUT this is how you understand the filipina pitfalls, learn about different regions and basic language/culuture things. I had SO MANY ups and downs this last year with girls there. and it came down to, I know what i want and i know what i do not want. You learn how to ask questions to get to the heart of the matter and learn if they are what you are looking for. WISH it was easier, but in person is probably where i am going to get 90%+ of what i am looking for.

But I know that 85% or “MORE” of Filipinas, are good, Godly, loving, traditional women, and I simply chose poorly, because once I came back to America, the honeymoon was over, and I learned that she was not a good girl. But that’s OK, I am moving to the Philippines in the beginning of next year, I am very, very, very financially, stable, and will live a great life over there. I follow yours, Gio’s, Steve Johnson’s, and ❤️Pea’s❤️ advice, on how to find the

I have been dating pinay women here in America. Decided I needed to visit the country. Connected with girl on dating site. To me, she was my tourist guide. Possibly, more! She met me at the airport. Told me of a place I could rent monthly. Her friend told her about. Wink wink….Met her family, eyeballing all this stuff stored on top. Of entertainment center. Kitchen pots, dishes stuff you will need. All the things I had to purchase. Hell she could have pulled some down for us to us. Reekay told me before, I left America.

I gotta be honest. As much as I wanna get out of the hellhole that is the West as and as much as I sympathize with other guys wanting to do the same, the mindset of some of these expats or passport bros is so bizarre to me. Like have some patience my guy. There are so many women in these countries that would be excited to meet a foreign man. It's not like the pond is gonna dry up between now and the time you actually get out there. Focus on doing what you need to do to make it happen until it happens and then go enjoy yourself. Some of y'all act super desperate.

Sound advice. I love the analogy with Salma Hyek!
I disagree on one thing. The buddy who went to the Phils and agreed to check out his Stateside buddy's LDR should have told him after the first or second meeting that there was a chance of the girl and him hooking up. If the US buddy got pissed, that was the time to set out the rules and stick to them. By the time he talked to you, he'd sunk into quicksand of his own making and was in a no-win situation... unless his US buddy was understanding. At the point you got involved, yes, I think you're right, but that ignores his stepping into the quicksand and letting himself sink, then cry to you for help.

Wish I found this video 3-4 years ago. What you said is actually what the filipina told me when I found out she dated someone else. "The world doesn't wait for you" or "I waited 2,5 years". She said she was sorry, but was just tired of the endless wait (was during covid though, and I didn't want to get the jab so I could enter PH, which was finally led to her decision) and we ended "breaking up".
6 weeks later the country finally opened up, but yeah she was already dating her new bf for over 6 months by that time while we were "still together". (Maybe longer even, but I found out after our breakup) I couldn't blame her really, it made sense, and my prior experience with women was just too low to actually have an idea what really matters to women from an own experience. (I was 28 when we met, 31 breakup)
I Did get onto an airplane within 6 weeks after the country opening up, hoping she'd want to meet me, and she actually did and was really into seeing me, but ended up making clear that she was choosing her filipino BF in the end. (he met the family, they went to church together etc). She was quite transparent about it, but told me that he was there for her, while I wasn't, and that I had my "chance". Also that she somehow resented me a little for taking "our" chance away from us, cus if it wasn't for "my" decision, we could've had something, because there was definitely very strong chemestry between is in person as well as online. She was reasonable enough to say it was also her fault, cus if she just didn't entertain and was alittle more patient, it wouldn't have been like this, but this was her life now.
I guess it has something to do with their culture too, especially when their family is so involved into the relationship already, that makes it more difficult to "break it off", if everything else seems "good" already.

In my experience, OFWs are a significant income provider for their family back in the Philippines. If a foreigner wants to marry one of those ladies, they have to be willing to provide the lost income when the OFW Filipina quits her overseas job. We had Conversation for about 9-10 days, exchanged photos, text messaged every day and it was a lot of fun. Today however... she decided to send me a humorous video about a Lady Boy dancing in a skirt, I laughed it off, she then admitted that she too was a lady boy, Unreal ,this blew my mind and I was so glad she / he came out with it before things started getting serious. In the photos she looked Amazingly Attractive. I'm glad I was able to laugh it off, even as I write this I laugh, but Listen to Reekay, how TRUE , you have to be there in person.

Even though you are ... mostly right, there is something really odd that happens when you find a hole in your experience, a divorce has probably happened and the dating pool in the United States (and possibly other 1st spaces) is not 'ideal'....and imagination is 100% ideal, as in, expectations are almost always met in one's imagination. When you WANT to believe that what you have is the real deal, it is very difficult to be convinced otherwise. When your friends see issues and problems and you're wearing rose colored glasses....you cannot see reality, only the 'ideal'.
    Danger danger Will Robinson.
Been there. Been scammed. Deserved every bit of it.
But cheating girls (as in giving them the short end of a raw deal) in the Philippines really bothers me.
It seems that so many guys CANNOT see the stupid things they are doing that make having a real relationship difficult and blame everything on someone else....I guess that sounds very American lately.

Had Filipino girlfriend for 4 years and she worked in Sadi. So when she came back to Bohol I bought a ticket and off I went for my 6th trip there. Spent 44 days then headed back home to the US. I planned to bring her here but the Virus hit. I chatted daily and even sent money. Well her sister is a Catholic nun and contacted me saying her sister had a boyfriend living with her. I have seen him but she lied saying it was her brother. I am thankful her nun sister informed me on her cheating sister. Well her loss and I plan on living in the Philippines come my winter months and maybe longer. I have a very good life in the US and just wish I had help. Most good American women and married. I was in part leadership in a Christian ministry and met a gal I married and I left her at 119 days. She is a good con and last I heard she is in her 9th marriage. The sad part is she thinks she is a Christian and follower of Christ. Yes she thinks she is the few Christ talked about entering God's Kingdom.

Bottom line is, action speaks louder than words. I’ve been online with my Filipina for a long while now BUT l have been to see her 4 times and she’s been to visit me once. We know each other very well. Having a LDR for a long time is fine but if it’s purely online and no visits, it cruel and selfish to string her along. To actually live with or go out with her is totally different than just chatting to someone online.
Once you have spent time with her, then you are both exclusive to each other. Also, if you are both sincere, you have to implement a plan to move forward doing life together.

I can only comment this from a USA point of view as to why men here do hesitate and stall about going to the Philippines. Many men here do not have a passport. Once they realize they got to have a passport then they get all bent out of shape because of the cost for the passport. Next is something that I hear a lot and that is they didn't realize that the cost would be so much for the flight to go over there and the length of the flight. But I think the one that gets me the most is that many will think and say that it's a poor country over there and that they are worried about catching a disease.
I noticed you mentioned a lot about a Filipina waiting for the man to come and that it's always one excuse after another. That's actually 100% accurate. I've briefly chatted with many Filipina that would tell me up front they have a boyfriend. Then they would tell me what country they were from, you know such as a Pakistan India stuff like that. Then I would ask her have you ever met in person and naturally what's the answer.... No he can't get here. So in return I would just politely ask them if you got a boyfriend who's probably never going to come then why are you wasting my time because you're obviously wasting your time too. One Golden rule that I lived by when it came to communicating and chatting with Filipinas was do not under any circumstance have communication with OFW workers who are currently abroad. 99% of them is only looking for chat mates to pass their time until they get back to the Philippines and be with her long time local boyfriend or husband.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea

the current (2023) cost of getting a passport in the usa is $165.
if 'some guy' talking to a filipina is already complaining he thinks $165 is a lot of money, he's not making enough money to be traveling the world. same if he can't afford around $1300 to $1700 USD for a round-trip plane ticket. not to mention hotel stay and basic vacation expenses.
that guy has no business telling any filipina he plans on visiting the PH, "someday". and she would be led astray to actually think he would ever show up.

    • @jimnoble905
      @jimnoble905 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Lifebeyondthesea yeah it's amazing how so many here in my area of the USA are passport stupid. $165 for the passport is what I paid in 2018. Pre pandemic it was easy to find round-trip flights to Cebu for well under $700. Most definitely miss those days of cheaper flights since I do travel there every 6 months.
My advice to anyone new who wants to go there is plan your trip ahead and have a date set. Search flights about 3 months or more out from a set date you want to go. Also make sure that total flight time is less than 24 hours. More often than not, a lot of people will choose a more cheaper flight but that cheaper flight could take 40-60 hours to get there with multiple layovers

Allow me to disagree with a part of what you said. I have been to other countries, but not the Philippines. I believe searching for a local girl at another country, should start 3 to 6 month before you are ready to travel and meet with her. If she intends to use you for money, you'll see a clue of that for sure during the first few months or even weeks. But to find a girl just a day or two before your arrival doesn't allow you enough time to choose. May be you loose day after day not finding the girl that you like, spending half of your vacation just searching for the girl. Not a good idea. You better have a girl waiting for you at the airport from the first minute and take you to live with her immediately because you are ready for this already.

that is true with 'some' filipinas. but...
for decades a filipina can file for a Legal Separation and go to court for a division of assets and child support in the Philippines. it is part of the Family Law Code, has been for years. however, few filipinas can afford the legal process so.. many don't even try. and many more don't even know they have this right.
so, she doesn't have to leave the country or marry a foreigner. if she's married to a rich filipino, she can still get half his stuff and child support.
