I had a similar experience, but in Korea with a Korean lady. She is the best person I have ever known and we have been happily married for 48 years. We Western men do not have to live alone if we are willing to go overseas where there are many fantastic ladies.
After my divorce in 94', I made a pact with myself to date a woman for at least 2 to 3 years before considering marriage. It's been almost 30 years of dating and relationships since then and not one woman has made the cut. Reekay's right. Many, if not most women will try to hide their true selves in the beginning, but can't do it over the long run. It's amazing how sweet and accomodating women can be that first 3 to 6 months.
I now refer to Western women as "Situationally Opportunistic Chameleons." If they see you as a good "prospect," they'll adapt themselves to your interests, values, hobbies, etc., making you think she's "the one." What sucks is, we men can fall pretty hard that first 3 to 6 months, only to end up feeling deceived when her true colors begin to emerge. Caveat Emptor, Gentlemen.
Wow, amazing in 30 years of dating, you haven’t met the ‘one’ yet. I understand your description on how woman can do their best to present themselves in the best possible way in the first 3~6 months.
I met tons of great filipinas online, including my wife of 12 years.
2 of my friends met their Filipinas online and have been married 20 years now. 1 of my friends met his during a layover when flying for work. They had chemistry and stayed in touch and finally connected. They are married 16 years now. I met my Filipina wife online as well but it took 8 or 9 months to sort through the others. She found me on the dating site and I noticed her responses to my questions were different from all the others, more honest. We ended up taking our conversation off the dating site and began video-chats. Then I flew over to meet her and ended up meeting her entire family & extended family. It was a lot to take in on my 1st visit but a lot of fun. We are married 2 years now. Life is Good !! So just do what you would normally do and be open to a relationship and understand that dating is not forever, it is a step towards finding the right one. Some make the cut and many do not.
I met my Filipina wife in a foreign country and I wasn't even looking... She's a wonderful wife yet it seems Filipina chicks are clingy but I love her so it's okay.
Met my wife online. Went to Davao to meet her the following month. She agreed to be happy with her one child. We covered a lot of the topics you mentioned well before committing to anything. She looks like a model even after 12 years of marriage. I don't think we have had arguments more than a couple times a year and those are usually limited to how much I work and should be home relaxing, etc. She works her ass off at work and then comes home and works her butt off there! We had no prenup and I waited 10 years to put her as primary beneficiary on the will. With her sister she is financing the construction of a house for her family in either Davao or Digos (I leave all those details to them, its entirely their money!). BTW, I think there is 25 years difference between us.

Great story of how you met your wife. I've only been here a few days over one year looking with that exact same criteria as you used to find your one and only. My only hope now is that I have the same success you have in finding the right Filipina, no matter how long it takes.
Hermano,..this was a super heart warming story of real life that you encountered the perfect woman for you... you stated that she matched all the boxes that you checked off and more. I am so happy for you and i have found mine going over 6 years and if God is willing, i will meet her in person later this year. We have been on video chat for all these years and she is the most patient & loving woman that i have ever met in my entire life. You really can meet the perfect woman and know that you have found "THE ONE" once you have filtered out the wrong ones.

It was an exceptionally motivating video hearing your story as i merrily pressed my clothes for work tmrw haha, I could say i was in the right place at the right time as i allowed my youtube to just play as i pressed my clothes. A wonderful true story of how things can turn out when you apply yourself to the search displaying your integrity and husband like character. It was just the boost i needed as i continued listening to several of your new relationship videos. In my search for the right filipina i plan to visit and reside for a while in both San Carlos City in Negros Occidental and Bayawan in Negros Oriental ,So! when you said to try places with less foreigner residents it strongly resonated with me because of my existing plans and decision to do exactly that. even with my eagle-eye, i had the toughest time finding a down to earth filipina amongst all the cebu city-girls. and i lived there almost 2-years. i'm sure there are some in cebu, somewhere.. but smaller cities have been much more productive.

You just mention about the "smaller cities being more productive", above, for finding a good traditional filipina. And what is your opinion about Davao in that regard? what do you think also about General Santos city, or Mindanao in general? what kind of women did you see there?
This video gives me hope as I also not interested in having kids in my retirement (I'm 64) and don't want a woman who has kids (under 18). I want to spend 50% of my time in retirement traveling and would want my GF to travel with me exploring and visiting many places throughout the Philippines and possibly other countries. So, it's good to hear that more women are OK with not having kids in their relationships.

Hi Reekay, I can relate to most if not all of your videos. I’ve seen probably all your videos. I’ve been watching you for awhile now. You are 100% right! “It is such a burden off your back when you are finally with someone that you can trust that will not screw you over”.Im about to make a transition to Cebu city next week. Im American but I have lived in Thailand for 4 years now and has always wanted to live in the Philippines and be with a Filipina for all the good obvious reasons. Im a teacher on a handsome salary in Thailand and I have been thinking the past two years to switch to online so that im able to live in the Philippines.. I will be taking a pay cut but I have money saved. I have also recently meet this wonderful girl from north Cebu province.. I do not have good experiences with Thai girls, part of that is probably because I’ve spent most of my time in Phuket.. not really ideal for finding a long term partner.. im a good looking 36 year old and have yet to meet a good hearted truthful Thai girl in Phuket. I have witnessed horror stories.. I have been smart enough to dodge a bullet and avoid many women here.. No matter the looks. Here, If you are not talking money then most birds are not interested. Sure, many Filipinas are like that too.. but Thailand is truly number one for this. It’s very hard to find a good looking or even average looking genuine good women here. Not all Thai women are like this. I do think north Thailand would be better if looking for something real. Good video as always. I look to reach out to you soon to meet up for a chat as I will be relocating to Cebu city very soon.

I met the young Filipina who was to become Mrs. Rick while standing on the tarmac of Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa Japan late one night as she was walking by. I don't recommend it as the preferred way to meet a Filipina. I mean, what are the odds that one will come wandering by just as you happen to be standing there waiting for her?
Going for young women with a 30 year + difference can seem a little one sided as she’s likely to have to be a carer for their old husband. This was my reasoning when I married my wife from Davao 14 years ago. She’s 15 years younger than me but I couldn’t see myself with anyone younger. Each to his own. And she’s wonderful!
Many Filipinas are naturally caring by nature and they're used to taking care of older grandparents, relatives etc and that's one of the reasons they make the best nurses when they come to the US. They do it willfully and joyfully

Thanks for being honest. I’ve listened to quite a few of your videos now and I like your philosophy. When I retire in a couple of years I think I’m going to go to the Philippines for a couple of months just to see if I like it there. I’d like to wake up and see the ocean every day. I can afford to do that there. Maybe I will like the Philippines and maybe not. Only one way to find out.

I have been out of the dating game for decades, divorced a few years back, and havent really been interested in dating. The divorce was not anything as bad as what most go through. I have just been focused on a career change. Asia is drawing me in and i love filipinos anyway. Good place to start. Thanks again reekay. Love your videos.

Good video and having children is something like religion....Filipinas have a problem or contention with, if not discussed fully and knowing her sentiments. Most that I have met, just keep silent, unless you bring it up. Compatibility is the biggest part of finding a good Filipina, or really any woman no matter where. Something comes up that can be overcome...Or not. Glad you are happy now and keep on going. You have a beautiful wife, and a great beautiful life. Nice story! Peace

Brother, you are an inspiration. One day last month, i just started investigating places to vacation overseas. The Philippines came up on my feed. Ive been enjoying the youtube vloggers, etc. But this video, right here, brought me some hope that there are women out there that truly do care for a man and are genuine. I live in the USA Texas, just today when in a store, i overheard a female cashier tell another women- "get you a sancho and get as much out of him as you can, thats what they do to us." After many years of being married and now a single man, I sometimes wonder if its even worth it, but there is hope. Thank you!

Most of the time, if a Filipina is of child-bearing age, even if she has children, she will want more with you. I have been disqualified by more than one Filipina woman because of my vasectomy.
So, just to be clear…You found her online…you had what you’ve called in the past a pen pal LDR…you came back and committed to spending a year together to decide on marriage…before actually living together…so you broke several of your own rules and it worked out great? I appreciate that you stayed flexible. Love doesn’t play by the rules.
we did meet online, for a few hours. and then met in-person the very next day.
our LDR was from sept/2019 to the first week of jan/2020. so, about 3 months.
starting jan/2020 we began our first full year living together. this is where we figured it all out that we were definitely compatible. we then got married in dec/2021. :)
but yes, it does pay to be flexible. there is no cookie-cutter way to be an expat.. or to find the right wife.

any smaller island is your best bet. but i did find plenty of good women in central and southern davao.

To all the foreigners coming to Ph to find a wife. My only hope is that they won't take advantage of these Filipinas and make them serve you only, it must be give and take. As a Filipina myself, I know my part in the family I know my role but of course, I expect my husband to help me with the housework, like cooking and cleaning. I am blessed to be married to a Filipino guy, which is one thing we practice at home helping each other with everything. Don't just come here to Ph and expect these Filipinas to serve you, please don't do that just stay in your country if that is your very reason for coming, they are not your maid to serve you and be used by you. You don't do that to the Filipinas here. Do not abuse and take advantage of these Filipinas' kindness. Even though like what I have said, as Filipinas, we know our role in our family, we know our part. But do not abuse or take advantage by having that mindset of coming here to find someone to serve you. Do not awaken the warrior side of these Filipinas.
