that's a nice piece of trivia. and yet that item has not resulted in any laws stating that the age of consent for dating and/or marriage should be age 25. why not, if it's SO important. because it isn't.
most young adults, male and female, in the usa begin dating at the very LATEST by age 17. countless get married before they are 20. where is the outcry about the prefrontl cortex about that? it doesn't exist because, again, it is not relevant.
people cannot one minute say anyone under 25 does not have a fully developed brain for dating.. and then ignore the fact that they themselves made their own dating decisions since they were 18. that just reeks of hypocrisy.

@@humanbeing6933in your opinion. Opinions are just that. Opinions.
But I don't see you complaining about 18 year old men being fed into the grinder of war.
And certain groups of people want to lower the voting age to 16.
Plus all the folks arguing to let a prepubescent child make decisions about puberty blockers.
No one talks about brain development then...

Every thing you said is spot on. I have traveled to at least 55 foreign countries so far and have found that it is only in America that the women react negatively to older men with much younger, often foreign, women. And it has nothing to do with the Judeo-Christian ethic. It has to do with jealousy and fear. They see these younger women as a threat to them. Once they hit the wall, they know that they can't compete with much younger, attractive and know that men naturally gravitate to younger, prettier women. If they are still married, they know that their husbands are miserable and might start getting ideas about wandering from the Plantation.

i 'almost' feel sorry for these older women who swallowed the big-lie from feminism. now that their youth is gone, spent "living like a man".. they can't offer a man much that he'd even want from them.
but when they start getting all Karen on me, that's when i lose what little sympathy i have for their plight. they made their bed, now sleep in it.

many people (the majority, in my opinion) belong to a 'herd mentality'. they don't want to stand out. they find 'safety' in being the same as the rest of the herd. they will be accepted. and they lash out at anyone who has the boldness to do their own thing.. with or without the approval of the herd.

In my experience, it's mostly women who get upset when they see or hear about an older man with his younger wife. Most other men couldn't care less what other people do in their private lives. Specifically, American women, for the most part, are the ones who get all bent out of shape about American men hooking up with younger filipinas. They get very upset, which I find to be hilarious because it's those American women who are so disagreeable that make American men want to seek romance elsewhere.

In the West, by the standards of that country, it is not expected that a man will be with a woman more than about an 8 years gap. It is socially taboo. In the Philippines an age gap is of 10, 20 or more years if not a problem. I live in Latin America and the woman I am seeing is much younger than me. In the words of Calvin Coolidge, “You can never misquote silence”. Do what you want, just don’t advertise it and don’t take her to a country where it is taboo.

You know Reekay, what is perhaps most revealing about the societal prejudices regarding age gap relationships is, that this mindset is mostly wielded by women, or better said, older women who apparently feel threatened by the competition posed by the younger females. All the while, these same women/older women cheer on and highly praise the so called "Cougars" who date younger men. Is this so-called "societal norm" in dating just a construct created to shame younger women and "keep them in their place"?

This age gap and dating younger Filipina’s is what originally led me to your LBTS blogs and articles many years ago. You cleared up some misconceptions about the age gap relationships that still exist today with many Americans.
Personally, when I divorced and became single in my 40’s. I was never interested in dating any woman close to my age. #1 most of them were not fit nor took keeping fit and healthy seriously. #2 USA Women that are fit and healthy at 40 are most likely in a relationship and/or not interested in a relationship unless you are rich or have spent years getting to know them and they tell you if you meet their standards.
So this is what interested me about the seeking a relationship with a younger girl in the Philippines.
With the girls in the Philippines they’re seeking a relationship at a young age and they don’t see issues with an age gap. True, most are poor and looking for security and support. You can try to seek out the middle class Filipinas but most likely the poor girls from poorer families are who you will meet as an older expat. But if you are able to afford a modest living, you will have enough to support your gf.

Starting in my mid 20’s I was sleeping with a late forties woman for about 10 years. No we weren’t going to get married, but there was something real there. Still not sure what, but what ever. Now I am seeing a Filipina about the same age I was. Yah we might get married, but we are together and have been for 5 years now. So there is something real. Just don’t know what. To be honest my
Life’s experience Rules are designed to keep you orderly and submissive more than serving to provide any real protection. People who follow their hearts are always breaking some sort of social norm. Who cares? Society in this age wants you to die at 65 without paying for SSI til you reach 67. That’s how the game rules are set up

Very we’ll communicated Reekay. It’s been interesting for me since I started dating in SE Asia. US women are brutal even condemning with their judgements of me. I have learned to block and delete. They are very confused and fearful and it’s not my responsibility to convince them. After having extended visits to SE Asia I find SE Asia far more open minded than the US. I prefer “life giving” people and environments as opposed to oppressive and authoritarian people and environments. I’m permanently expatriating in two months. I’m so happy I can barely sit still. I have the mindset, maturity, contract with reality, life skills, life long track record as a responsible person to thrive wherever I go. I don’t bring along expectations other countries, people and foods are supposed to be like the US. Thanks Reekay

Every time I've had to chat about this, most American women get truly offended. They even get angry at my opinion. Their reaction puts me off, and I answer their questions about how wrong I am, and since I have a master's in history, I tell them that historically, women never married a man for romantic reasons, that this usually developed later in the relationship, or it did not, but mostly women married men who could take care of her needs, ability to give her children, give her provisioning and protect her. That usually meant that the man would always be much older, and this was true right up to the 18th century. After that, the age differences seemed to get closer over time, until our now delusional women, feminazis to the core, try to shame a man for having normal attractions and desires. Women have been sold a bill of goods regarding the practicality of having a man who could take care of them, as today's feminism has women thinking that they don't need a man. Let them think that. I don't want that type of female in my life. it's mighty kind of them to show their true colors and help me pack my luggage. Men are genetically programmed to prefer attractive, younger women. We cannot help it, as humanity would collapse if we didn't breed with healthy women in their prime of child-bearing years, from 18 to 30. The only thing stopping us from fulfilling our role in that regard is the harpy older women that are jealous of our having that younger, tighter beautiful female. I've been planning my move for a few years, and as soon as my house and car are sold, I'll be traveling to my future, a peaceful one, even if I'm alone, but I will have control of whom I will be with, not some scheming western nightmare of a woman.

Hi Reekay. I remember you talking about this years ago and I totally agree with what you said then. The divorce rate in the west is massive and that's of the ones that get married in the first place, plus the corrupt and evil legal system Against men. You know, there is a biblical divorce, the husband just writes the wife a " Letter of divorce " which can be as simple as a short sentence, NO LAWYERS INVOLVED and free, so that and the fact that almost nobody reads the bible is why 99.999% of people have never heard of it. As you know, the people who denounce marriage to a younger woman are the old women, scared of loosing their sponsor [ husband ].

I quit worrying about religious or societal bias as a factor in my decision making many years ago now, and life has been much more wonderful since then. You present a very nice argument about age gaps being a non-moral issue, which I hope helps anyone still struggling over the issue. In the US there is still a strong negative view of age gaps where a man is significantly older than his wife. I’ve experienced it on occasion myself in public with my Filipina wife. I find it amusing.

I'll be 66 1/2" when I "semi-retire" in P.I. 4/2024; I'll have A LOT of savings and A LOT of monthly income, so I'll be pretty "choosy" (and cautious)about the Filipinas I engage with, as I will
not put myself at risk by being lax or cavalier. I won't be "in a hurry" and whomever I get might get (seriously) involved with will be thoroughly "vetted", and I mean even "investigated" by a
private investigator, before I expose myself to any real risks. I don't feel this is "too much", and I'll be on my own in P.I. so I'll be overly cautious, as the rule. I'm not going to involve myself
with a "separated" Filipina or one who has children, so I must be assured there's been no "omission of facts" from my Filipina, and if I cannot find one who fits my criteria, that is fine too.

This is The best analysis of this subject I’ve ever heard. in all categories the point as well made and it really frees my mind from any doubt. I have not dated someone with more than a 10 year gap but I did have this discussion with my best friend who thought these retirees in the Phils marrying younger women was weird and even perverse i’m sorry to say. his opinion was that these are just Golddigger girls-how could they be interested in such an older man? …Now- he’s got his masters from Harvard so he’s no slouch. and when 22 he married a woman five years older than him that had very little money…he was and is a millionaire. so I pointed out that by the same token I could say that she was a “Golddigger” (which knowing them from my 20s was ridiculous- no chance). he was furious even the comparison - so I pointed out that he made my point -A man and woman with an age gap have just as much right to be offended at the GD accusation (if they have an honest loving relationship) as he was.
He and I are both Christians and have a very deep knowledge of the Bible as well so I think if he just thought about all those Biblical examples he would change his mind and concede. that’s the only time in 40 years I can ever remember making him angry so we haven’t discussed the subject since. I think he would find this video very well thought out. thanks so much for putting it together in such clear terms along with the credibility of your personal experience. well done!

You are correct, in fact, I am older by a good deal than my wife, but I've got to warn you. When they are 18 t0 20 they still have immature traits that are hard to adapt to. they are more short-sighted. Be ready to deal with that. It is not easy. I love my wife, but it took her 10 years to get herself together and mature. There are many ruff bumps going down that road. For you and her.

the few times i do have to debate someone on these issues.. i know going in that the odds of them changing their bias is almost zero. it is not so much they lack the facts or reasoning, it is that they have an unfounded bias/bigotry already in place that they will cling to even if they can't defend it.
i only do so to put them in their place when they think it's okay to make unfounded snide accusations.

So im a german and alone and yes im a lottle bit jealous of what u 2 have. But i appreciate it and try to learn from ur example that its never too late and i dont give up hope. What iam now thinking is that age is just a number and if 2 souls connect there is nothing who could come between. If we see time compared to the existence of the earth we are all pop-ups anyway who dissapear in the brink of an eye.

I'm a fully functional, healthy man who'll be 66 in December. Never had any children of my own. I'm seriously considering a Filipina to start a family life with. That means an age gap of about 40 years, give or take. A Filipina friend of mine who lives here in the states is trying to fix me up with a niece of hers who is 22. I'll consider it, but also consider others. It just shows me that it's not out of the question with Filipina culture. I really don't give a damn about anyone elses opinions on the subject. I've always lived life on my terms, without being put in a box. What else do I have to do with the rest of my life, sit in a rocking chair, watching TV and waiting for death? No thanks, I expect to be here for some time to come, and won't be swayed by so-called moral social norms.

Marriage is not “for suckers”. It proves intent to be permanent that exceeds a verbal commitment. Granted, a verbal commitment can be just as sincere as marriage. But, by getting married you are signing up for a massive headache if, later, you decide it isn’t permanent. Thus, the person who agrees to marry PROVES intent to a greater degree than the man who merely says it. Thus, the woman has reason to have more confidence in the man’s commitment. That makes a woman feel more secure. And, a man may want to make her feel more secure because that often promotes greater commitment from the woman.

I wonder what is really meant when one objects to someone else's relationship by saying, "He's taking advantage of her", because he's older than his partner. What does that mean? What advantage is he taking from her?
Presumably, the man and his girlfriend/wife are having sex, but how does an age gap mean that some advantage is being taken from one partner to the other, to the detriment of one? Assuming the relationship is mutually consensual between adults.
It seems like that's a common phrase that people use without even understanding what they're saying.

You could justify the relationship on a biblical basis but why would you feel that you need to do that. Under the law you’re not doing anything wrong. Moral values are subjective and most of those criticizing probably have done much worse at some point in life. The word hypocrisy comes to mind. The average young pinay would be better off with this old guy in so many ways. I’m happy, she’s happy, your opinion becomes null and void. I dare any of the nay sayers to go to her mom and dad (and other family and friends) that we need to end the relation ship because “it’s morally wrong”. They’d probably go the way of Maria Magdalene …

To my surprise one of the two sisters I have was indicating it is just wrong to date/marry her. She hadn't met her but her argument was we wouldn't have anything in common. But we actually do have quite a lot in common. I just am aggravated at the pointless negativity. I thought about my sister's relationship, she is living with a guy close enough in age to be her brother, LOL. I thought I should tell her I don't think they should be together because there is too large of educational gap between them, she has a 2 year college degree and he has attained a doctorate degree, what could they possibly have in common. 😂
