    Very insightful observation about the Pill and Western society. 80% is still a very good hit rate, probably better than anywhere else. I'd also theorize it is partly imported Western culture. The Philippines are not a well kept secret anymore and like you've previously mentioned, guys first come over and they can't control themselves by sleeping with all the women they can. This helps create a more promiscuous culture. Typical to human nature, we seem to be contributing to the destruction of the thing we valued.

    .I became expat 30 years ago , no internet , no smartphones , only snail mail which took months to communicate. 3 countries later I have seen it all. Many guys who are just now starting their journey having ldr's and the such have no idea what is going on over here. having seen homes and fortunes come and go the stories are endless. even during my 20 year relationship here in PI has had it's ups and downs . realize a long term relationship takes patience and hard work. It's not all palm trees and boom boom.

    Even from last year to this one there has been a lot of change. Most Filipinas are now wearing much shorter hair and to my utter dismay many are coloring their beautiful raven hair to blond and light brown and one I have know a few years now is actually developed the much disturbing practice of having to put makeup on before she will leave the house. My heart is breaking for them as there idea that the western way is a great thing is ruining their life and will soon ruin their cultural beliefs and by the time they figure it out it will be to late...:(

    I couldn't finish this video, it hurt too damn much to watch. As someone who has been invisible to women his whole life, and who knows he's never going to find anyone, its painful to hear that the world is shrinking. The one thing places like the Philippines absolutely do not need is to become more like the US.

    Unfortunately, not everyone has the flexibility to move to the Philippines and spend a year there trying to find the "right one". Because we have businesses to run, families to take care of or other obligations, our roots are here in the US (or other western countries) but like you, it's our strong wish and desire to be with a Filipina who has the strong family values that seem to be lost here in the US. With that in mind, the dating sites / internet are our only link to that world. That is how I found my wife, back in 2019 and fortunately, we were able to meet in person before the pandemic hit and we started the long road to where we are today. Oh, and did I mention that she was also still technically married and so we still had to obtain an annulment? (Yeah, that is the first of the many rules that I broke, lol)
    Five years later, she is here in the US with her children and I can't believe how happy we all are together as a family. We are deeply in love, and I love her children as my own and they feel the same about me. Life is really, really good. Life and Love are a risk no matter the path taken and while I would not suggest my path to everyone for it is not for the fate of heart, there are some of us whose choices are limited, and so we just need to roll the dice with what we have and say a prayer.

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      that's true. and it is why so many guys end up in a long distance 'relationship' online and end up sending money, for years sometimes, only to arrive and find her married or pregnant.

    • @regchaput5938

      @@Lifebeyondthesea Yes, your advice is sound, Reekay, and I agree, guys really need to do their due diligence before investing emotionally and financially. I guess it seems the message that you sometimes share is you shouldn't go down the road of a life with a Filipina, unless you can do "boots on the ground" and if still choose to, well, you might be lacking in a cerebral capacity.
      Please know that for some of us, it's just not an option. Yes, we perhaps run a bigger risk but I also feel that if you make sound choices, take your time and visit your Filipina and her family often, it can all work out. To me, it is certainly worth the risk.
      Thanks for all of your good work, Reekay~

    It's kind of funny and sad at the same time, that now i'm at the age and maturity as a man that i'm looking to get married and start a family, there are very few women that are attractive for a long term relationship.
    Should i have gotten married when i was 18, before the internet, while doing that making a huge gamble or should i do it now and it's still a huge gamble, but in a different way.
    The way i see it, is what is most important, is knowing what you want and knowing how to get it. Regardless of if that means your target market is the 80% group or the 20% group. Some things are worth spending 20 years on to achieve it.
    Of course, i could also just be a generic fool :)

    Thank you for letting me hear those roosters in the background, my first time in the Philippines I was on the island of Camiguin and the roosters made noise all night like drunken sailors and I laughed all night and my ex was curious about why and I told her that we don't have roosters where I live. But to your point I do agree that most women in the Philippines are still traditional, and I will definitely have a better chance finding a woman that can give me peace there than here in the US and yes, I will take your advice and wait for a long period of time before I get serious. I really want to be there for close to 6 months before I start to date

I've said many times that the ability to video chat at will is a complete game changer. We get to see the moods, the lifestyles, and actually meet their families and friends. I'm in a LDR and am very happy with the way things have gone with it just because of the ability to video chat. Yes, there are gold diggers, but, like everything else, we have to keep our wits about us.

    Urbanization leads to moral decay. It was always that way everywhere. On top of that, the rapid moral decay of the West (sold as enlightenment) has infected the much of the world. But the decay is much less advanced in the Philippines, especially in the provinces. Even in Cebu City, you would find that most college girls are not zexually active (my daughter attends college there). Colleges are often communities separate from the cities they are located in. I'm not promoting looking for women that young, but a lot of women 23-25 who are recent college grads are still relatively untainted. If they date, they date with intent for a lasting relationship. But most of these girls probably aren't looking for relationships online, even if they would prefer to start a family with a foreigner (which is a large proportion of them - for a long list of reasons).

    NO offense Reekay, but cant believe your saying this now, i mean ive said many a times, that the internet for me, as i see it , has ruined the way Philippines' used to be, women are much more astute, and i would beg to state that most foreigners ( >90%) do end up with a province girls because of that. all you have to do is watch all the youtubers and see the women they are with.Most refined women there DONT want a foreigner, i been there, i seen it and have heard it from others as well. Well, maybe not ruined, but internet has broaden the scope and OPENED their eyes...its reality

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      i spent 2 years, on/off, living in cebu and while i did date many women there, some for as long as 6-weeks... i never did find a serous relationship in cebu myself. the closest i got was with a filipina i wanted to marry who was from Danao, about 40-minutes from cebu, but there were issues so i broke up with her. more on that here;
      th-cam.com/video/fBuuqu9aPCU/w-d-xo.html
      that being said, you only need one good one, and i'm sure there are good women there that i didn't meet. plus, my criteria may differ from that of others, so you have to factor that in as well.
      meanwhile, i have met and dated so many more wonderful women with a good heart in smaller towns, even just outside of dumaguete. (bacong, valencia & bais)

      @@Lifebeyondthesea I appreciate the response. I think since I do want children and you didn't, that would be a factor with finding one. Could you compare Muslim Filipinas to Catholic Filipinas? Would you consider Muslim ones more traditional and pure and date to marry type?

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      if it were just a matter of race, there would be no issue. however you are talking about a difference of religion, and that is a big issue.
      for one thing, not all muslim nor all catholic woman are the same. some are very committed and serious about their religion, others are in it by default due to their upbringing. if you married a muslim woman who is serious about being muslim.. are you willing to submit to her iman for weekly spiritual guidance? wake up for prayer facing mecca at 4am? learn the koran? if not, you are not doing her any favors by not participating in her religion. same issue with a serious catholic.
      and then there are kids. she will want the kids to be muslim (or catholic) and complete any required related traditions.
      the better question you should be asking yourself is whether you want to date a woman from the province or from the city. a woman who wants to be a full-time wife or a wife with a career.

      if you're talking about "dating in general", that's one thing. but once you begin a relationship with a particular filipina, these are things you discuss with her, directly, to find out what her plans are.
