    the idea for getting the window piece to sit flat in there was very clever, I was impressed with how well that went.

    I can't wait to see your painting of the model. As a kid in the 80's I can't remember how many refits I built. I could never get the paint correct. I've got a number of refit kits and add ons just waiting to see how you paint her then the get the courage to try it myself again after all these years. Thank you.

    Great tips and ideas 💡 about how to approach a model like this. Thanks for sharing, Wayne. I'm enjoying this build series, being the huge Star Trek fan that I am.

    I like your different approach to putting in the officers lounge photo etch, alot of other builders trim the photo etch and widen the opening in the lounge window for the part to drop in as opposed to surface mounting, looks very clean and requires less putty work it seems.

    • @trmblingblustar
      @trmblingblustar ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I trimmed the part and used putty to make it all flush, but I agree. next time I'll probably surface mount it and try using putty to hide the edges.

    Hi Wayne! One important thing to remember is to mask any of the pegs and peg holes that you use to assemble the final ship, especially the dorsal and nacelles. The pins are designed to exactly fit, and if you get any paint in them, they will not fit at all. Don't ask how I found this out. 🙂 Nice work so far!

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great stuff Wayne. Could you put some more light on with the next video? I think it needs more light for the fine details here than you need for the partworks construction vids.

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I actually had to tone the light down as it was blowing out the white balance and losing some of the detail. Shouldn't have that problem once the shine is off and it's primed

    • @Jedidaddyo
      @Jedidaddyo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WorldofWayneUK , Perhaps a side light that will create some shadow in the detail. I know, lighting can be difficult especially when you get to the smaller details and closeups.

    Do you have the officers lounge to go behind those officers lounge windows? If you don't I recommend you use tracing paper behind the widows to give them a nice flat light diffusion.

    To bad they don’t make an Enterprise D in this scale it would be so much better than that disaster Eaglemoss D

    • @milanondrak5564
      @milanondrak5564 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, the Eaglemoss Enterprise D was awful. The issue with that one is the panels are supplied separately from each other so when it's put together the gaps between the panels show and the lighting is bad on the warp nacelles too.

      There have been Technical Breakdowns on the Enterprise so I'd assume the Dimensions came from that.

    • @marcblackburn5920
      @marcblackburn5920 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is plenty of literature that breaks down the dimensions of Star Fleet ships. It’s the same concept for any sci-fi model. Real or not, with the fake dimensions you can break it down to the proper scale.

    • @FMChimera
      @FMChimera ปีที่แล้ว

      Because dimensions of the ship are often integral to the story telling (this isn't JJ Abrams) and so were established mostly from day one. In this case the mid-1960's.
