I bought the TOS Enterprise masks from MaskDesign and they are perfection. This will be my next project after 1/350 NX-01 and NX-01 Refit.
After my 1/537 lost out in a fight between my cat and two Yorkies it’s time to tackle the BIG 1/350 Enterprise.

The masking and iridescent painting is strangely "insane". It must drive you mad. But hell , I am hooked and want to make this kit :) - you should've called yourselves "borgdesigns" - resistance is futile - you will be assimilated !

What are the exact paint colours that you used from FW?
711Shimming blue, 709 Shimming gold, 713 Shimming red and 714 Shimming green
Question - your colors are they opaque or are they transparent colors?

Hi, only just come across your channel & Facebook page, awesome work, I can't fully get my head around the whole process & how unbelievable it looks. I'm just getting back into modelling & I'm currently working on the 1:2700 Imperial Star Destroyer, I'm going big on this first build after 30yrs away from this hobby, full lighting kit with fibre optics & LED's, so far so good! Just this week I've purchased 3 Star Trek kits (U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701 TOS 1:600 Cpt. Kirk, U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 Cpt. Kathryn Janeway 1:670 & U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 'Into the darkness' 1:500) I would love to give these kits your masking treatment. I wasn't quite sure as to the paints you use though. Are they Clear Incandescent Pearl Acrylic paints & then you add the different pigments to it or are they ready made coloured pots of incandescent paint? I've not seen these kind of paints before. Would you then apply a Clear Incandescent Pearl coat over the top after painting has been done? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just confused to what the paints actually are that you use, it's all new to me. Amazing work, unbelievable to watch & see how it's done. Maybe out of my skill level but would be willing to give it a go. Are your masking products available for the model kits I've just purchased? Thanks in advance. Paul 😎

What did you use as a base color before applying the masks?
we used rust-oleum primmer white

We use the Daler Rowney shimmering inks line. Available at you local art stores or on Amazon. Check out our facebook page for more information.
