      Hi Wayne, I'm new to all this and once I start getting the Dalek Build Kit I'll definitely be tuning in for your valuable advice.
      It's great watching you building / lighting the Enterprise kits and thank you for the valuable mine of information....
      Do you know if there is an Enterprise F Kit (Picard season 3) available ??

    Hi Wayne and Esta(?) AKA Mrs World of Wayne, so sorry to hear about the sad loss of Phoebe... It leaves a hole in our lives, and takes time to get used to been without them, so many people just don't get how much pets are a part of the family... Like human loved ones that we have lost over the years, we keep the 'alvie' in our hearts... Sending my best thoughts to you and the family take care!

    I love how the saucer section is looking so far, but, did you have to wear a Star Wars t-shirt for this video? 🤣 Jokes aside, great job! I love every single detail you're taking care of. Keep it up!

    I assume you used the aluminum card stock because you needed a reflector for the impulse engine. Would regular styrene and a strip of aluminum foil achieve the same result? You make all this look so easy.

    Looking really tidy Wayne, as suggested below cotton wool really helps diffuse the light hotspots in the impulse engines, lighting always looks blown out on camera.

    Could I ask your advice on masking? On the refit, I'm working on the 2 clear plastic lenses that go on either side of the landing bay. There's 3 lines I want to mask on each piece, and since they're so small, is there any trick to masking them, or is it just a question of good old fashioned hard work & patience?

    • @WorldofWayneUK

      There are comprehensive making kits out there but for tiny ones. Good old fashioned time and effort

    I have noticed that you use a blade to cut your photo etch peices from frame. Some time ago my mate brought online from the United States a pair of photoetch cutters that work brilliantly, even the finer small peices. They are branded Xuron. Don't know from witch store he got them, but thought you might like check them out online. I must say they are very good for getting a clean cut right up to the edge of the frame with little or no clean up as the cutting edges are very fine and very sharp. Just a thought!

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tend to cut the holding piece with a blade and then trim to the detail with sprue cutters

    Crazy Question coming stand by.... are the lights that are going into the impulse engines dual-color or just straight amber?

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      The impulse crystal and deflector in duel colour. The engines themselves are amber only

    The glass frosting 'paint' was an interesting product I haven't seen before. I usually use dull coat to frost my clear parts, but the frost works well too. Well done, she's coming right along!

    This feels like a stupid question, but how did you get the cocktail sticks in the light holes when you'd previously filled them with resin?

    • @WorldofWayneUK
      @WorldofWayneUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you noticed I used uv tape on the other side when applying the resin. This causes a small air pocket so I still have a hole on the other side

    To further diffuse the impulse engine light, I suggest you insert some pulled apart white cotton wool or polyester wool into the cavity you've made for the LEDs.
    Will you be using photoetch part 7 (?) for the saucer recreation room behind those square windows with some rear and side illumination?

  • @mrbluesky2050
    @mrbluesky2050 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd have used four orange LED, mounted sideways to take advantage of their length over diameter, together with taniya clear orange over the inside of the frosting..... and maybe paint the rear of the mounting red for reflection...

    Great job so far. I have a tip for you that I learned, when applying the liquid plastic cement use a thing called a ruling pen. You can make the opening larger or smaller and it's more precise then the brush just touch it to the seam and it flows by capillary action.

  • @thejamesieboy
    @thejamesieboy ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That aluminium card is called lithoplate, it's great stuff for modelling. Best way to get it is to go to a printer who does lithoprinting, they can only use it once then scrap it. If you go in and ask most are quite happy to give you a load of their scrap. Best bit is because they have already used it one side is effectively already primed and easy to paint. Not sure meant to tell you about best way to cut it when I seen you use it on the Douglas plane.
