    The large red lights are actually not thrusters, they are heat radiation dissipaters for the impulse engine.

  • @Skyfire_The_Goth
    @Skyfire_The_Goth ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why is the bridge module gold? Why is there gold details on the impulse engine housing? I don't remember there being gold on any version of Enterprise (aside from the deflector dish on the pre-refit 1701). Looked at movie stills and watched several exterior scenes, I don't see any gold. Are you trying to make it as correct to the movies as possible or are you just doing your own thing with it?

    • @WorldofWayneUK

      It's an iridescent gold. If I didn't have the lights on it changes colour

    Hello Wayne. Did you ever finish the polar lights enterprise as I can't seem to find any more videos.

  • @rickgregory9616
    @rickgregory9616 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Enterprise is really coming along. It's nice that you have the room for these 3D printers, not to mention room to display all the models you've built. I hope that someone will release a Part Work build for either the TOS or the Refit in the same quality/detail as the Polar Lights.

    That is a snazzy looking 3D printer, nicely priced too... crikey even a paper printer can cost more than that. :D 1701 refit coming along nicely, I'd be tempted to print off a whole new re-enforced neck section with sockets for magnets to lock everything down. :)

      As a general rule resin prints are not great for structural parts.....resin is usually pretty brittle. You can add other resins to make it less brittle (like tenacious resin) but I have found that only really works on small parts. Resin printers are great for small detailed/ decorative prints as Wayne as shown in this video.

    You printed it on the diagonal, not flat. How the hell does it not have a whole load of stair-stepping on the surfaces?

  • @milanondrak5564
    @milanondrak5564 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could 3D print the arboretum interior and then have clear windows on the arboretum just like the movie model. A daylight led light could light up the arboretum interior. The sensor dome itself isn't supposed to glow but it should be duck egg blue.

  • @julianmhall

    Your layer height is too big on the print, which is why the layers are so visible on the printed item. Dial them to be smaller, and you'll be OK.
