Saw it in Japan in April, it's a great looking sedan. Love your car reviews, Sarah - nobody else is gonna lift it up, go over in depth and measure the sway-bar like you! You have all the know-how of someone who rebuilds cars and make it fun, keep up the great content, thanks!

    • @kristoffermangila

The previous generation Crown in Japan had multiple variations:
      1. Base model (V6)
      2. Crown Athlete (V6)
      3. Crown Hybrid (V6)
      4. Crown Majesta (V8)
And the Crown Majesta has four sub-variants!

@SarahnTuned Actually Corolla is Latin for little crown. Avalon is the final resting place for King Arthur. Kiichiro Toyoda had a thing for crowns.

I am old enough to remember the "glory" days of the Crown in Australia & the reasons why they were well received. In spite of all the tech on this version I suspect there are some older Toyota engineers who must love how close this is to the original models & how the market segment has not changed!

New toyotas and "luxury" is opposite! Suspension is sheet - especially compare to germans or volvo. Interior boring and cheap- no different color styles combinates, no natural materials- cheap "eco". Noise isolation is average, no acoustic glass etc. Worse than mazda, and much worse than bmw, volvo, audi, mersedes.

Sarah, an eCVT is NOT a CVT! It's a planetary gear set with two electric motors. No belt, pulleys, or hydraulics. Only a few moving parts, and permanently engaged power carriers similar to a differential. Pretty much indestructible, and very torquey. In total, there are THREE electric motors. Total system HP doesn't add up because there are losses, and the engine can't physically put full effort into the wheels because of how eCVT works.

The way you penetrate the car with your gum-finger in combination with your doctor’s outfit seems sometimes a little bit awkward 😅😂😂 But i like the style of your reviews, giving us every little details 🙌👍⭐️⭐️⭐️💙

You pronounce steel and sport like you are still in Deutschland. Shteel and Shport❤

That was the worst sounding car I think you have ever reviewed.

You are SO COOL, Sarah! I STILL WISH for you to do a video (series?) about THE REAL CARS! American (TOTALLY AWESOME) from 50s-70s! I have owned (AND EXPERIENCED) MANY OF THESE GREAT "RIDES"! They were FAR SUPERIOR to "cookie cutter" CRAP TODAY!

Yea… I’m a bit scared of this Crown, the previous generation was gorgeous (disclaimer: I hate Totoyas and sedan even more) and classy. In japan it’s a rich -old-money, -old-people car who think Lexus are for newly rich showoffs. And they don’t seem to like this car too much… it’s marketed as an SUV like the Mercedes GL Coupe, BMW X6 or Renault Arkana
