I've followed this video 33 mornings in a row, and it still cracks me up at the end when Adriene says, "That was just a simple sequence to get us started." I'm 52. It has definitely not gotten "simple" for me yet, but it's so gratifying to witness myself becoming stronger, slimmer, and more flexible each day. I'm so grateful for this video. Thank you, Adriene!

Hi Jasmine, I hope you are holding on and excited about tomorrow, amazing badge to have ;) I wanted to tell you about two tools I found incredibly effective, one is tapping technique (many simple instructions on youtube) which is 2-4 minutes powerful amazing 'switch'. When I first started, it was gentle relief, but the longer I did it, the stronger the feel of bliss was. Also, if you know your painful triggers, like memories of trauma or moments that made you take wrong turn, this will help you rewire your brain to detach pain and distress from these past events, extremely powerful and works miracles, like years of therapy in few session at home and for free. Great for sudden anxiety and cravings too.
Second is subliminal programming, I like work of Thomas Hall and I also use free download from mindofwinner.com where in very easy way you can select or create your own msgs that pops on your screen while you work or watch something.
      Good luck!

Yes you are right Adriene, the hardest part can be getting to the mat. Isn't it fascinating how we resist the things we know are good for us? What is this about? There must be a chemical in the brain and a way of seeing things that produces this resistance. Today though I just said to myself, stop wasting time thinking about it and get on with it and that was easy, so maybe I've got this resistance thing nailed, for today anyway😂🙏Thanks again.

Yes you are right Adriene, the hardest part can be getting to the mat. Isn't it fascinating how we resist the things we know are good for us? What is this about? There must be a chemical in the brain and a way of seeing things that produces this resistance. Today though I just said to myself, stop wasting time thinking about it and get on with it and that was easy, so maybe I've got this resistance thing nailed, for today anywayThanks again.

This video workout is wonderful. It starts exactly where a beginner needs to be and explains so much of what is needed to do yoga moves well. I am coming back from a significant injury and this is just what I wanted and needed to make a serious start in yoga. I looked at several other "beginner" videos before I found this one by Adrienne, and none of the others was even doable. This video is definitely going to improve my overall flexibility, mobility and strength over time. I am looking forward to having done this so many times that I am ready to move up a level, but for now this is perfection and I plan to do it regularly. Highly recommend it.

I practiced Yoga with Adriene quite a lot (daily actually) during the lockdowns, but also, like others, fell off the wagon sometime since, and this week felt the need to get back into doing 'some yoga'. Foolishly I thought I'd try something new so downloaded the free trial of the 'downward dog' app thing. I honestly set it to the absolute beginners restorative session, but it exacerbated all the aches and tension I felt in my back, neck and shoulders. Not to mention the stiffness in my knees and hips. It didn't explain anything about how to get into a pose, or what to be thinking about to improve your posture whilst you're in it. I hurt for the next few days, and then returned to this, my old favourite: Yoga for complete beginners (with Adriene). Sometimes it makes sense to go with the best (for me this feels good) and luckily I know where to come to find it. So much gratitude and love x

Hi Adrienne, I've been practicing Yoga almost every morning with you to your Yoga for complete beginners. I want you to know that it is helping me get stronger and more confident in the poses each time. At first the transition from the right side of Warrior poses and when we turned to the left I got a bit lost or confuse, but now I can do it. better and both my mind and body understand. Thank you for this wonderful video, Adrienne! Namaste

Yoga also helps so much with calming your thoughts and I've found it helps with easing you into meditation too, if you find it hard meditating at anytime 😊. I don't want people to forget that yoga isn't just some workout that you do in a gym, there also a spiritual side to its practice as well. The title of her video is a bit misleading to be honest. As much as I'm sure she's lovely teacher 😊

I just did this. I can't even explain...
I've struggled with my body for years. Abuse on every level. I've PCOS and Adrenal issues that have made weight gain easier and weight loss more difficult. I've read that stress is a nightmare for these things- I stay stressed. Articles and friends have suggested Yoga as an option for relieving stress and a low impact 'exercise' that would go easy on my taxed adrenals.
I was intimidated. Have looked at local classes but have been ...too insecure.
It's more than the weight. It's the connecting with my body. In order to survive certain abuses I shut off from my body. Now, what once helped me survive, is literally going to kill me.
I decided tonight is start. I decided today. I just circles around it until now.
This little video. This. Little. Video. Your kind voice and the doable poses and the encouragement to connect to a body I've so long neglected and ignored.
    I am near weeping.
    I can't explain it.
    Thank you. So very much.

Surprisedly this was the fastest 20mins that i've ever experience with Yoga. I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure about everyone else but my body gets very stiff. Like I mean veryyyyy stiff to the point where I can't stay in a position for long... I can't even cross my legs without it hurting. It's weird because I'm 5'7 and weight 160lbs. I don't consider myself to be "fat" but I do have a curly body shape. I tried yoga before but than I stopped. i'm hopping that this year, i'll be able to gain some flexibility and I just want to say that I really appreciate your video. My body is still stiff lol but i'm getting there. It just takes practice. I'm looking forward to your other videos.

+Ashley Danielle Hi Ashley, I too have stiffness issues and have realized that every physical symptom is our body trying to tell us something. Try coming up with as many adjectives as you can to describe your symptoms, then look them up in an online dictionary. You will be amazed at what you find. You will instinctively know what your body is telling you once you do this, and then can take steps to correct the issues your body is pointing out. Here's an example of what my body was trying to tell me through symptoms:
      Symptoms and dictionary meanings:
Sore - Suffering bodily pain from wounds, suffering mental pain; grieved; distressed; sorrowful; angered; causing very great suffering and mental pain.
      Stuffy - Inflexible, rigid, ill-tempered.
Dizzy - Thoughtless, confused, tendency to fall.
Congested - Over burdened, over loaded, blocked.
Pressure - A force acting against resistance.
      My Prescription to myself:
Have more fun - Be less serious
      Let go - Stop resisting
      Be more mindful
Allow myself to release my emotions
I hope this might help you and others in some way. :)

    • @angelaperry2673
      @angelaperry2673 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Ashley Danielle When you look up your descriptive words be sure to keep in mind what was going on when the symptoms first began. You will notice a correlation with what they were trying to tell you with what was happening at that time in your life. Just by shedding light on the darkness we make the darkness disappear. Just by realizing the message often times the symptoms will resolve. For instance, when my allergies began (stuffy, pressure, etc...) I was dating an "inflexible" (stuffy) man who was forcing me to stay in the relationship with fear tactics (pressure).

I am 65 and have fallen seven times in as many months.😐😞🫤. I was previously very active but something happened in January.🤷🏻‍♀️😳. My sense of balance was as if someone threw ‘ an off switch’. Anyway, today I was inspired to try yoga for the first ever time. I was able to do most of this class, but the walking the feet together at the end was impossible.😂. But this was my first time. You are so graceful and your voice is so soothing that I will do this same class until I get a little balance back. Thank you SO much for making this available to us who cannot make it to an actual yoga class. ✨🙌😬💖. You are a blessing to us. See you all tomorrow.

My depression has kept me in bed a lot, which has caused a lot of pain and tension in my shoulders. I thought this might help me alleviate that, and get my blood flowing to help my brain and body reconnect. This was perfect. The right amount of strengthening burn without pain. I havent done anything active since i was little in gymnastics. I love how the poses quickly felt like falling back into those stretches I did when I was 8. I will definitely be returning to this video as I try to improve my health, and get my brain listening to my body again.

Tracie Irene Usually depression is caused by things missing in your DIET! Try eating more spring garden greens in your salad, it has potassium in the greens that can help you! Look up Dr John Bergman, and Eric Berg has videos on depression that I found helpful!

Back to Adrienne after a knee injury and what I find so helpful that I originally loved is her gift of allowing us to be imperfect as we learn to adjust, strengthen, lengthen and BE with our bodies wherever they are at the moment. That is the ❤ of a true teacher. Thank you.

I hope everyone else can have that feeling too and just know that it's okay if somethings are hard when you start out, it'll get easier the more you practice.
