Felt a little sad/down when I woke up this morning and didn't feel like doing yoga. Then I told myself: "you don't have to do any yoga, just go and sit on your mat." So I did. And before I knew it, I was playing this video. And I started practicing. During the first half of this practice the thought "why are mornings so difficult?" kept repeating in my head, then I told myself "that's okay, just focus on this practice for now". And that thought was gone. And I was practicing. And I don't feel sad/down anymore. So so grateful for your videos, I'm sitting here with a HUGE smile on my face. Thank you thank you thank you!! After each session I always say, "Thank you Lord for this amazing young woman." She is helping this granny in my fight with fibromyalgia , age and macular degeneration. She gives so much and asks for nothing in return. Thank you Adriene - you are appreciated.
How quickly the 72 year old body stiffens. This is a perfect practice to soften and stretch my body. Thank you for thinking of us who need a gentle practice. Namaste!
Feels good to be back on an optimum schedule. I got up earlier yesterday despite insufficient sleep and ended the day with a long walk. That left me sufficiently tired enough to get to bed earlier, and then rise early. Feels so much better. Did some meditation, took a walk, stopped for a small breakfast snack and then came home for yoga. Will listen to an inspirational program now, eat a small lunch and head to school to teach this afternoon. Feels like Saturday, even if it is Monday. Still day 18. 379 days in a row.
It's been almost 6 months when I stopped my almost daily practice. Grief makes it hard to continue a routine yet it is grief that beckons me to incorporate a daily practice to self-soothe and bring about stability. Hello, day 7 of August and a new day 1 for me.
Know that even through this grief, it is not failure that should reach you. Today is a new day, and your love is as new and ubiquitous as the morning sun and the midnight moon. It will forever and endure and change. ❤

Spending a lot of time at home with family and instead of getting out of my bed and straight to my desk, I’m doing this before the ‘start of the day’ - before others are awake, and before I sit at my desk for hours! already doing wonders ❤️

Well put! Somehow I had not done this practice...so lovely, such a gentle yet full stretch and start to the day. And so very sweet to "be with" Adriene as she began her remarkable work and journey with us all. The light was shining as brightly then as it is now, but has strengthened and grown in to even more fullness and grace.

Recently I followed the Breath journey, but sometimes I still come back to this gentle morning practice and rejoice hearing the same jokes all over again. So it's a lovely surprise to have it suggested as part of the March 2021 YWA calendar.
Hello from the UK! I have just done my first yoga session! I’ve always been frightened of exercise but saw a yoga mat on sale and found out about this channel. This morning got up early before my family, got my mat, set up my iPad and did this lovely morning yoga routine with my dog. My body and mind feel clear and relaxed. Thank you can’t wait to do more ❤

I had to take a day off from yoga yesterday as I was just in so much pain with my chronic illnesses. Getting back to it today with this lovely practice, now a day behind but that’s okay! It was perfect, exactly what I needed today, a slow and gentle practice to ease off my sore muscles and joints. Be kind to yourself everyone 💗

Adriene! I kept stopping and starting yoga over the past few years. This is the first time I've stuck with it. You bring so much personality to your videos and you make yoga feel approachable. I always feel insecure going to yoga classes with everyone in their expensive yoga clothes and I find that it's hard to find teachers that really focus on foundation. My back has never felt better and I feel myself getting stronger. Thank you!!!
I've been practicing with Adrienne for over 5 years, watching her more current stuff. But I went back to her earlier stuff and found this GEM! I have fibromyalgia and am in my late 40s, but often feel like 80. This one was "just right!" Bless you and Benji! ❤
Glad I'm not the only Mover who did this at the end of my day instead. Mornings are rushed, but maybe now I will start to incorporate even 5 minutes of my own stretches and breathing, and set an intention for my day. Thank you Adriene! It made a great unwind video, too.
(December 2019) What a lovely way to start the morning. As I've said on previous videos, I LOVE how you emphasize that we are having an experience with our bodies and need to feel what's organic to us rather than try to perfect certain poses. I was sluggish and tight when I woke up, but now I feel loose and light and ready to take on this day. Thank you so much!
over the years, as ive faded in and out of my yoga practice, i find myself coming back to this video. theres something about this one in particular that i find my impatience and self doubt fade away, and i become more confident going on to more difficult practices without the extra baggage. i appreciate the hell out of all of you that do work on this channel, thank you for making yoga something accessible. ❣️
It's been a good 5 months since I've done any type of yoga, due to multiple reasons. This morning I decided to do this sequence to help wake myself up for school, and my body not only felt good, but how I felt reminded me of why I started yoga in the first place. This also reminded me of why I chose you, Adriene, as my guide with both yoga and with life. Your personality is so down-to-earth, your "Find What Feels Good" is perfect for all types of people, and your silliness reminds me of my older sister, haha. Revisiting this video with the March 2021/Move calendar, it was my personal “Open Sesame” for yoga! The lesson that got me hooked and showed me the magic of yoga... Because it is so simple and doable, so gentle... It didn’t even “feel” like doing yoga, just stretching softly and breathing and connecting to the breath and the body. I had zero flexibility and zero strength when I started (and 20 pounds more than now), so I couldn’t do much. But this one I could do, and it felt good, and at the end I would always feel awesome! It made me calmer and more grounded when I was nervous or anxious; it opened my heart, made me breathe and gave me a positive energy, a willingness to face the rest of the day (whatever the time) with a better attitude. It feels like the dearest old friend... So SO grateful to young Adriene and her kind loving teaching...❤️❤️❤️
That was gorgeous thank you Adriene. I woke up with my back really hurting, but through out this practice, I could feel it loosening, and starting to be less sore. This video made me think of the time I started following Adriene, which may have been nearly at the start of this wonderful channel. The content was amazing 8 years ago, as it is today. Sometimes I power through some videos to build strength, sometimes I tend to my aching back, sometimes I need to find calmness before important meetings or interviews, and sometimes I just want to wake up with a smile doing some gentle yoga as in this video. No matter what I need and how I feel, this channel has my back and always lets me find what feels good. Thank you so much for everything you have done for this community.

The title says 'for beginners' but I have been doing yoga for 14 years and I have this one bookmarked for mornings when I wake up feeling like crap and can't get going, with that non-morning-person headache....its magical! I always feel completely better afterwards and sometimes I am able to follow it with one of Adriene's more fiery morning videos. THIS VIDEO IS BETTER THAN COFFEE!

March 2021 MOVE calendar - I am loving these few days going back in time to see young Adriene with her short hair and messy bookcase! This must be pre-Benji. I wish I had found her back then! It's been 5 months of nearly every day for me and I'm never going back!
This is still one of my favorite practices from YWA. I did this every morning for months when I first found Adriene. It helped me gently build strength and eased me into my mornings. Today I revisited it because I was stiff from my overzealous weeding yesterday and my whole body feels awake and soothed. Thank you Adriene!
That rotating cat cow felt so good! My hips are quite tight and they click a lot but I have never found a good way to loosen and mobilise them properly until now. I may have to incorporate that move every morning...
One year ago I couldn't even get on the floor without crying tears all over my mat because of acute tendonitis, in legs, arms, shoulders and today I was able to follow this whole sequence. I had an unknown illness. My daughter helped to wake me up enough to begin the healing journey. Thank you Adriene for making your videos available to me. I'm very grateful for you and your light in my world!
Oh my goodness. Let me gush for a second. Not just on this video, but on all of the ones I've done so far, I am so impressed. You are the only yoga instructor I have found who I like. Your personality really helps me keep with it. It seems like many others are super duper calm, quiet and serious. With you I am comfortable and thoroughly enjoy yoga-ing. I don't know what the correct term is for it. The Bedtime yoga really, really helps with my severe RLS insomnia and everything else gets me so energized and happy. You put off extremely good vibes and that keeps me enjoying it. I used to struggle and almost force myself to do yoga, but now I look forward to it. You also stress the importance of organic movement and explain in detail how certain poses help you, etc. It is helping me so much, both mentally/emotionally and physically. Nothing lifts and balances my mood like good vibes during yoga. Thank you so much!!! Namaste. :D
This is the first YWA video I did... five years ago! It was the first time I found that exercise could be calming and nourishing, and that I could find what feels good while still caring for and challenging my body. Five years later, this is still my favorite YWA video, but I've grown in yoga more than I ever thought I would. Thank you Adriene, for all your work... it's so appreciated!

I just barely am coming out of a long fitness hiatus due to bilateral plantar fasciitis and insertional Achilles tendonitis and a left shoulder impingement. I used to do a lot of yoga and this yoga routine was really well explained. I started feeling the tightness in my middle neck start to ease after the third set of cat/cow. I will be recommending this page to friends and family.
Thank you for this sweet and gentle practice! It was very much needed. I was really able to move with a deep awareness and I actually LISTENED to my body and acted accordingly, which might come naturally for many, but I really struggle with tapping into it. Revisited this routine to get started on my first day back to work after suffering for several days from international travel related illness (i.e. not good) :-) I had forgotten how nice this routine is when you are not ready for a full workout or yoga routine. I’ve been having some issues with my lower back and I knew getting back into yoga would be really beneficial for me. This time I’m mainly trying to focus on honouring my limits and accepting that different variants that are better suited to my abilities and capacities is safer and healthier, making for a more enjoyable experience. I broke my femur a few years ago and haven't been able to do yoga because of the differences in muscle between my legs, and this is easy and doable and I think it's going to be a great beginning place for my yoga/spiritual journey! Thank you! Have a beautiful day!

It was such a grey rainy morning, my neck stuck, muscle pain all over my upper back, and after doing this soft and gentle session I feel ready and open, loving myself. Thanks Adriene
Felt a little sad/down when I woke up this morning and didn't feel like doing yoga. Then I told myself: "you don't have to do any yoga, just go and sit on your mat." So I did. And before I knew it, I was playing this video. And I started practicing. During the first half of this practice the thought "why are mornings so difficult?" kept repeating in my head, then I told myself "that's okay, just focus on this practice for now". And that thought was gone. And I was practicing. And I don't feel sad/down anymore.
So so grateful for your videos, I'm sitting here with a HUGE smile on my face. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Feels good to be back on an optimum schedule. I got up earlier yesterday despite insufficient sleep and ended the day with a long walk. That left me sufficiently tired enough to get to bed earlier, and then rise early. Feels so much better. Did some meditation, took a walk, stopped for a small breakfast snack and then came home for yoga. Will listen to an inspirational program now, eat a small lunch and head to school to teach this afternoon. Feels like Saturday, even if it is Monday.

It's been almost 6 months when I stopped my almost daily practice. Grief makes it hard to continue a routine yet it is grief that beckons me to incorporate a daily practice to self-soothe and bring about stability. Hello, day 7 of August and a new day 1 for me.
Know that even through this grief, it is not failure that should reach you. Today is a new day, and your love is as new and ubiquitous as the morning sun and the midnight moon. It will forever and endure and change. ❤

Well put! Somehow I had not done this practice...so lovely, such a gentle yet full stretch and start to the day. And so very sweet to "be with" Adriene as she began her remarkable work and journey with us all. Hello from the UK! I have just done my first yoga session! I’ve always been frightened of exercise but saw a yoga mat on sale and found out about this channel. This morning got up early before my family, got my mat, set up my iPad and did this lovely morning yoga routine with my dog. My body and mind feel clear and relaxed. Thank you can’t wait to do more ❤

I had to take a day off from yoga yesterday as I was just in so much pain with my chronic illnesses. Getting back to it today with this lovely practice, now a day behind but that’s okay! It was perfect, exactly what I needed today, a slow and gentle practice to ease off my sore muscles and joints. Be kind to yourself everyone 💗

Adriene! I kept stopping and starting yoga over the past few years. This is the first time I've stuck with it. You bring so much personality to your videos and you make yoga feel approachable. I always feel insecure going to yoga classes with everyone in their expensive yoga clothes and I find that it's hard to find teachers that really focus on foundation. My back has never felt better and I feel myself getting stronger. Thank you!!!

As I've said on previous videos, I LOVE how you emphasize that we are having an experience with our bodies and need to feel what's organic to us rather than try to perfect certain poses. over the years, as ive faded in and out of my yoga practice, i find myself coming back to this video. theres something about this one in particular that i find my impatience and self doubt fade away, and i become more confident going on to more difficult practices without the extra baggage. i appreciate the hell out of all of you that do work on this channel, thank you for making yoga something accessible. ❣️
It's been a good 5 months since I've done any type of yoga, due to multiple reasons. This morning I decided to do this sequence to help wake myself up for school, and my body not only felt good, but how I felt reminded me of why I started yoga in the first place. This also reminded me of why I chose you, Adriene, as my guide with both yoga and with life. Your personality is so down-to-earth, your "Find What Feels Good" is perfect for all types of people, and your silliness reminds me of my older sister, haha. Revisiting this video with the March 2021/Move calendar, it was my personal “Open Sesame” for yoga! The lesson that got me hooked and showed me the magic of yoga... Because it is so simple and doable, so gentle... It didn’t even “feel” like doing yoga, just stretching softly and breathing and connecting to the breath and the body. I had zero flexibility and zero strength when I started (and 20 pounds more than now), so I couldn’t do much. But this one I could do, and it felt good, and at the end I would always feel awesome! It made me calmer and more grounded when I was nervous or anxious; it opened my heart, made me breathe and gave me a positive energy, a willingness to face the rest of the day (whatever the time) with a better attitude.
It feels like the dearest old friend... So SO grateful to young Adriene and her kind loving teaching...❤️❤️❤️

This video made me think of the time I started following Adriene, which may have been nearly at the start of this wonderful channel. The content was amazing 8 years ago, as it is today. Sometimes I power through some videos to build strength, sometimes I tend to my aching back, sometimes I need to find calmness before important meetings or interviews, and sometimes I just want to wake up with a smile doing some gentle yoga as in this video. No matter what I need and how I feel, this channel has my back and always lets me find what feels good. Thank you so much for everything you have done for this community.

This video is the best medicine for non-morning people! The title says 'for beginners' but I have been doing yoga for 14 years and I have this one bookmarked for mornings when I wake up feeling like crap and can't get going, with that non-morning-person headache....its magical! I always feel completely better afterwards and sometimes I am able to follow it with one of Adriene's more fiery morning videos. THIS VIDEO IS BETTER THAN COFFEE!

This is still one of my favorite practices from YWA. I did this every morning for months when I first found Adriene. It helped me gently build strength and eased me into my mornings. That rotating cat cow felt so good! My hips are quite tight and they click a lot but I have never found a good way to loosen and mobilise them properly until now. I may have to incorporate that move every morning...
One year ago I couldn't even get on the floor without crying tears all over my mat because of acute tendonitis, in legs, arms, shoulders and today I was able to follow this whole sequence. I had an unknown illness. My daughter helped to wake me up enough to begin the healing journey. Thank you Adriene for making your videos available to me. Not just on this video, but on all of the ones I've done so far, I am so impressed. You are the only yoga instructor I have found who I like. Your personality really helps me keep with it. It seems like many others are super duper calm, quiet and serious. With you I am comfortable and thoroughly enjoy yoga-ing. I don't know what the correct term is for it. The Bedtime yoga really, really helps with my severe RLS insomnia and everything else gets me so energized and happy. You put off extremely good vibes and that keeps me enjoying it. I used to struggle and almost force myself to do yoga, but now I look forward to it. You also stress the importance of organic movement and explain in detail how certain poses help you, etc. It is helping me so much, both mentally/emotionally and physically. Nothing lifts and balances my mood like good vibes during yoga. Thank you so much!!! Namaste. :D
This is the first YWA video I did... five years ago! It was the first time I found that exercise could be calming and nourishing, and that I could find what feels good while still caring for and challenging my body. Five years later, this is still my favorite YWA video, but I've grown in yoga more than I ever thought I would. Thank you Adriene, for all your work... it's so appreciated!

I just barely am coming out of a long fitness hiatus due to bilateral plantar fasciitis and insertional Achilles tendonitis and a left shoulder impingement. I used to do a lot of yoga and this yoga routine was really well explained. I started feeling the tightness in my middle neck start to ease after the third set of cat/cow. I will be recommending this page to friends and family.
I have been doing this whole video every day as my wake up routine, since I discovered it 3 mo the ago. I absolutely love it.

For Day 18 of Meditate I returned to my very first yoga practice when I discovered you Adriene in April ‘16. This lockdown has got to me, a senior yogi feeling restricted from enough exercise, so this was perfect. As you say ‘for all levels’ so true. You are always there for me 💞 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🙏

Good morning everyone! Wow, is this video really 7 years old? You are awesome Adriene and have been creating videos for a long time. I find it interesting how the “studio” has changed over the years. Great stretchy practice this morning. I am new since Jan and hope I am still here in another 7 years to practice with everyone!
How amazing are our bodies??? What a gift to breath and bend and stretch and hold ourselves up all day long. So grateful for the chance to be embodied, especially in our ever-increasingly virtual world. And how ironic that I have this chance on a virtual platform... oh the nuance of life!

Revisited this routine to get started on my first day back to work after suffering for several days from international travel related illness (i.e. not good) :-) I had forgotten how nice this routine is when you are not ready for a full workout or yoga routine. Small step but I am on my way to getting back to normal. Thanks Adriene!

I’ve been having some issues with my lower back and I knew getting back into yoga would be really beneficial for me. This time I’m mainly trying to focus on honouring my limits and accepting that different variants that are better suited to my abilities and capacities is safer and healthier, making for a more enjoyable experience.
