    Oh I’d loose that in the sky on a cloudy day. My first EDF years ago was a grey F35 that I let get too far away and lost it in grey overcast (damn camouflage worked). 😅. I learned from that the descending circuit turn to final vice a normal pattern was much better (like you said).

    Brian, I am very impressed with your video reviews and fully understand how much work goes into them as I occasionally create and edit some limited RC footage. My hat is off to your camera person (wife I am assuming) as she does an excellent job following your aircraft through the skies ( a very difficult thing to do as smoothly as she does). Also, if the camera person is your wife, you are a truly fortunate man to have such a supporting wife. My wife hates the hobby....Keep up the great RC video's and thank you for them.

    Awesome plane Brian, and awesome video as usal. I got my battery at the exact same spot as yours, but i feel its still just more than a tad nose heavy, as in barely touching it before it tips backwards. If i hold my fingertips on the CG and strech my thumbs back on the wing towards the trailing edge and try to tilt it backwards, i feel i have to use a fair amount of force. Would you say its still within a tad nose heavy, or more on the heavy-ier side? Also i got the 8360 rx just in front of the whole with the servo leads, cause it didnt fit next to the motor plugs like yours, but the weight of that rx should hardly be noticeable regardless of where its mounted? Any ideas? Cheers

    That spiral marking on the spinners(curly Qs, lol) are not anti bird devices. They are safety devices, so guys on the ramp know if the engine is spinning or not. If you can make out the curly Q, then the engine isn’t spinning. Interestingly enough, the real business jet engines(G650 aircraft) don’t have those markings. None needed when the engine is mounted so high off the ground, and protected by the wing beneath it.

    What a beauty 😍 Sounds great also. Reading the reviews was a bit disturbing though. One guy said the front retract stopped working after the maiden and he couldn't find parts and he couldn't get any customer service 🤔 He may have just got unlucky with the retract no biggy there but zero customer service and not being able to find parts to fix it is a big problem. I absolutely hate buying something to later find there's no costumer service and no parts list and that's why it's always best to do research before buying anything on line.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was a huge delay on the first shipment, COVID BS...but now they have the planes in stock stateside, that's why we didn't do it till this week! We JUST got it - this is a frustrating, but real issue to which we are totally subject to with EVERY plane right now...this sucks, but to hold XFly or any other brand/distributor directly responsible would be an extreme over-simplification. I agree if there were an issue, it needs to be addressed, but there will and has been limitations on spare parts, even to the BIG BOYS...I've had conversations with them DIRECTLY about this very issue, and it's a real issue for everything...not just hobby stuff. I had a customer, for my day job, who had a 40 day lead time on parts, and the factory extended the time another 11 days 3 days to ship date - my contact ended up laid off because of it - terrible, and totally NOT out of the ordinary right now.
      Either way, take it worth a grain of salt...not saying it's BS, but more likely a hopefully an isolated incident.

    In my experience with electric. If you set it for three or five or 12 minutes. Land a little early on those country roads because when you're at that limit. There's usually a car coming around. In my experience. Because ditching off the pavement sucks. LOL

      100% Just happened the other day when we had some neighbors go by on ATV's...past our road, then backed up and I was on final!!! I ended up crashing when I bailed and went around, but then accidentally threw on Thrust Reverse - DOHHHHH - plane was saved after a few hours of work ;)

    Watching this gave me a thought. In all planes with flaps, we use the elevator compensation. My thought was, is it possible to setup elevator comp to a dial trimmer to adjust while you are in the air flying?

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, if you wish, but I don't do this. Some guys are using RT and LT to make adjustments to elevator compensation for flaps.

    Hey man great F.......ing video. I've been waiting for you to fly this plane. Quick question how do you get flight pack voltage on an ar637t. I've seen you use it. Thanks again man have a good one.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use the AR637T, you have to use the red and black wire that plugs into the telemetry port, which we DO show in the unbox, build, radio setup. However, if you would swap out the ESC's with Avian's, for Thrust Reverse too, you'd have cell by cell telemetry feedback ;) Oh yeah! I hope we can cover this on a revisit, as Thrust Reverse would be amazing!

    G,day brian i had to google a bit more about the spinner spiral out of curiosity and i found this > boeing Engineers at Boeing have taken the position that engine spinner spirals do not reduce bird strikes. Boeing’s safety newsletter, Aero, states it is a misconception that airplane colors and jet engine spinner markings help to repel birds.
    A representative from engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce in Derby, UK was nice enough to contact me about this issue. He stated:
    "The nose cone (both in terms of strength and angle) is designed to reduced bird impact damage to the engine and reduce ice build-up. The spirals are there as a warning to ground crew when taxiing… In flight, the spirals could not be seen by birds as the rotation of the engine would be too fast"..

      Thanks, but this is a pretty "Easy" plane to fly ;) Landing is not tough if you've got the CG right...but I call it "high consequence" because you won't want to damage or kill this beauty...so it adds a lot more pressure, than an "everyday flier" which, to be honest, this plane could be!

    Hey Brian l have watched the video of the J65 Jet unboxing and built my Question is the Pulsar Stabilizer instead of using that l have the Spectrum AR630 AS3X/Safe receiver for wiring hook up will that work with the Jet and not use the Pulsar Stabilizer installed.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do it JUST like we did, but we cover that in the "UNBOX, BUILD, RADIO SETUP" - listed in the playlist for this plane....what you're watching is the "Maiden Flights" for this plane.
      I opted to not use the Pulsar, since I didn't want to gamble with such an AMAZING plane ;)

      Don't worry about what you can't control. They're completely out of control, and we need to just keep living life and let them do whatever they want. They are wrong and will be put in their place at some point...but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. Bruce ( XJet ) will be beating his drum, and I don't disagree with him, but this is how he strums up attention.
