@ 11:13 - I meant to say, that the plane, on 3200mAh 4S, is still a bit Tail Heavy...not Nose heavy. Very sorry folks! Tail heavy planes tend to exaggerate the elevator effectiveness, making it fly TOUCHY on the pitch axis, while nose heavy planes tend to dampen the feel of the elevator, making the plane fly more stable, on the pitch axis.
It owns the sky, look at that profile, WOW!!!
The Super 18 was the first aircraft that I ever worked on as a licensed A&P mechanic back in 2005. I remember I fabricated a new aluminum emergency exit door handle and reskinned the rudder control surfaces because the fabric was overdue for an R&R. There’s a special place in my heart for her. Glad to see this. Thanks for the video Brian 🤙
You got me back into rc planes after a long break. I watch every video! Please keep doing what you’re doing.
A very good Thursday evening to you all in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the uk
Been waiting my whole life for this plane! Beautiful design.
When Brian uses his "indoor-less excited voice" he is the Bob Ross of RC Planes!! I love it!
Bob Ross didn't talk non stop though!!!
Big morning for the Beechcraft, lighting up my email and TH-cam. Everyone is dropping this plane this morning. Beautiful looking and flying plane. Great detail. Looks awesome in the air and on the ground. Great video. Thank you both.
That’s brilliant she had differential thrust. Such a iconic vintage plane. Great stuff🫡
Yes indeed!
Stunning-looking plane! I was getting Indiana Jones vibes too, haha. Loving the simplicity of those quick-release wings which helps make it a viable purchase for those of us needing to transport RC planes in a car.
Been waiting a long time for this plane! Beautiful design , I saw the clock in the background and its nearly midnight and I don't think we appreciate the time and effort you and Megan put in to give us this wonder detailed build. Your both AWESOME !!!!
I was able to fly in a D-18 many years ago. It was used to spray mosquitoes over our state. One of the main reasons I got my PL .
HH did a very good job of replicating.
What a beautiful bird! And wow!
Nice looking bird
VERY NICE
Thanks - it very much is nice ;)
When I saw this plane all i could think of was……. “No time for love Dr. Jones!” Hah totally Indiana Jones vibes.
AWEOMSE!!!! I couldn't exactly place it, but your comment was an "A-AHA" moment! - THANKS Luke!!!
I think this will be my next one! love it!
It is a joy to fly! bprc.me/Beechcraft
Thank you for the link. I will use it soon! 😊
My first flying job was flying a Beech 18 back in the mid 1970's. Spent many a night tossing mail bags, cancelled checks and boxes of auto parts. Oh and flying some in between that exercise. Great way to build experience. There were times I felt like I was a vampire waiting for the sun!! But youth prevailed and I survived. This is a fantastic looking model. Good review.
Thanks!
You're welcome!
You have the most amazing depth perception.
I wish it was better ;)
Holy 'Schnikeeees'!!!!! How cool is that plane!!!!! Need one...NOW ✈️😎😎
Unbelievable flying Brian. I don't know how anybody can be that good. Especially flying all around those power lines. I always think you're about to collide into one of them and yet you fly right between them.
We fly through them SEVERAL times in the Second Thoughts - Coming soon - She is a docile beauty....eager to please her master ;) Ohhhhhh YEEEAAAAAHHHHH
@@BrianPhillipsRC hahahaha!
Brian thankyou for all your videos and knowledge of all new products you are the man my friend
I flew in a C-45 ,a military variant of the Beech 18, nicknamed the “Bucket of Bolts,” which was painted in the Royal Air Force trim. It was a pleasurable experience.
I have a photo of my grandfather in front of the military version in Panama WW2 when he was assigned to the 6th Air Force. They apparently used them for sub spotting patrol to protect the Panama Canal along with the PBYs.
AWESOME! You need one then ;) This thing is wonderful to fly.
Maybe Santa can bring one. My son just crashed his 1.1 T-28 so maybe we can share. Lol
This is great, I just saw this in an email and thought hey, I bet Brian just posted some videos lol. Thanks for always being on the ball!! Thinking I'll need this one.
It is fantastic!
Don't forget to PRE-ORDER before 9/16/2022 and you'll get a coupon code via email to be able to buy the 5000mAh 4S with IC5 to IC3 Adapter for half off! This is the BEST size battery for the D18...we cover it in our "Second Thoughts" and it's AMAZING on 5000mAh 4S!

Wow, very nice. Thank you guys.
What a great looking and flying scale plane! Also, I set up "pilot fatigue" on my Eflite A-10 and it works fantastically!!! Use it for the first time today at the flying field and it impressed a lot of folks that my plane had reverse thrust! Thanks!!!
Wow great demonstration. This was the plane they copied in last scene of the movie Casablanca 1942 .
Paint Lao Che on the door... Indiana Jones reference 😁
That is a beautiful Airplane 🛫
As always a first class review
Thanks!
yea exactly what we have all wanted for the last 20 years , very cool, i see a real one at the airport everyday at SBA i want to own
Great job Brian as usual, beautiful vintage aircraft ❤️
Very cool plane Brian, will def have to consider it. Thanks for sharing
beautiful plane and awesome flying
Looks great! Excellent job, as usual guys! E-flite is doing an amazing job as well, knocking it out of the park with this. Not really my style, but it looks like a blast. I'm holding out, and really hoping for the Project Scrappy! We need more Patey planes! Any idea of the ETA on that one? Thank you for all the awesome vids guys! Keep up the great work!
They really need to bring out the Project Scrappy !!
Boy, I hope their not wasting time on "Scrappy".
Really nice. One of my favourite airplanes. 2.0m would be sweet too
What a beautiful plane 😍
Cool plane, I love the scale planes cause its like I’m flying the real thing 👍
NIIICE 🔥 Love it 👍🏻
Nice flying Brian ✌️
CONSIDER IT ORDERED!
Love the beech. Gonna get in near future but buying a ton Of planes this year need a few months to catch up. Will definitely use your link. Thanks for what you both do. Great entertainment and info.
Beautiful 👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟!
I flew in a real Beach 18 in the right seat what a experience good review nice airplane
Hay Brian, They are now on sale $319.95 BAF , what a price!
If there's more awesome scale releases coming. Just 😉😉🧐😬
Nice Plane! Thanks 😁😎
Very cool
Lovely looking plane it would go well with my parkzone Stinson, retro I’ve got couple civil aviation planes love flying slow and scale and makes a change from flying my warbirds and jet’s, big salute 🫡 to you and Megan, Gaza 🇬🇧
100% I love this scale! Want more like it!!!
I have always loved the B-18 and my first reaction was to pre-order but I have a couple of flying budding that often buy new planes, fly them a few times, then sell at a great price. Hmm
Nice, Saw Matt Younkin put on a Show in one of these at Oshkosh this year.
Hello Brian,its Airplane the great Legend,it Amazing🔝🔝😉😉😉😉
Hey Brian , I bought one of the Beechcraft D18s and purchased one 4100 mAh and one 4500 mAh . Both of the mentioned batteries are Pulse , and let me say that that plane flys awesome with zero sensitivity in the pitch. Now I'm heading out today to maiden my P-51 Mustang 1.5m . I have been practicing my landings and I believe that I'm ready for the Mustang . I live in Vegas and fly at Bennett flying feild , so I've got plenty of smooth runway . I also updated the firmware in my Mustang's ESC . Now I can set reverse thrust of which I would like to thank you for , because without the information that you've provided I would have never done ! Thank you Brian for all of the excellent information .
Thanks! Good luck with your new challenge!
Great stuff! You have helped get me started. I can not figure out how to get that battery reading off my D8Xe. My plane has a Esc avian .Can’t find videos online or any info off manual. Plz guide me :)
While I can appreciate wanting to fly it low and slow in scale manner, I am SHOCKED that you never gave us a full throttle pass. What the heck were you thinking??? That notwithstanding, this is a seriously beautiful bird.
As always, thanks much for sharing.
Steve
2266g is light for a 1500mm wing, nice
It really is!!! Love the plane, and now that I'm flying on 5000mAh 4S - it's WAY better - CG is better, elevator is tamed down, where it ought to be, and less "tail swing" from AS3X...way better fit. Can't wait to release the Second Thoughts on this one!
Really cool airplane! Watched your unbox and build video also. Wondering if you've built the Carbon Z t28 2m? Couldn't find one on your channel
It's one of the few I don't have, and really want too, but will have the re-release when it comes out ;)
OMG Finally a new eflite release that is something different and interesting...
looks like it would be prefect for a cockpit camera
Efliteeven got the correct looking propellers thiis time...i rarely use stock eflite propellers for performance and scale reasons.
Not sure if it's my end or yours, but multiple times in this video the video image lagged behind the audio. Audio seemed to track smoothly but image would stutter but would eventually catchup.
Overall really liked the maiden flights on this aircraf.
I wonder if you're internet was being slow...we didn't notice any lip-sync issues on our raw content, or the upload....
Please do report back, if you figure out what happened. Thanks Tom!
It wasn't an issue before or after watching the unboxing. So who knows. Still very interesting plane.
I again experienced a similar situation today however, it was on another site. This leads me to believe it was indeed a problem on my end of the viewing. Wanted to let you know not to worry about your broadcast production. Catch ya later.
Hey Bryan I think the A-10 has twin 40A Avian esc's since the revised came out.
Excuse me brian cAn i get a (fun day ) of yours; your a very capable and informative host that a enjoy watching ! Have some fun and enjoy. Id like to that
See
So sweet. I will probably use 4 s 3200 in this. But do you think if I get a 4 s 5000 hard pack instead of soft pack would be OK on weight? Or would be to tight? My thinking is if I pick up ground vehicles then that would work in both. Thanks
Man oh man! Whaaaaaaaat!?! This is too stinking gorgeous! Great flight Brian! I have a serious, but hard question.. This or the xfly j65? That's what I'm torn between atm.. Different end of the... Spektrum... 😉 I know, but still..
Brian can you change front tires to du bro tires or are the wheels not able to come off. Thanks
OMGOODNESS ❤️! is this the PNP version?
There is one, but this was the BNF
Wheres Humphrey Bogart
Awesome plane
Sure is! 5000mAh on our next video makes it CG out wonderfully!
Brian great flying. Can you do a video next time and have Megan show us how to activate the reverse trust
👍
Hey Brian, excellent review, and now I will add the Beechcraft D18 to my short list for the next airplane. I was wondering if y'all ever attend the Joe Nall or Nall in the Fall at Triple Tree Aerodrome? I go to those and the Helicopter Extravaganza every year. Just got back from the Heli event, looking forward to the Nall in the Fall next month.
I want to do this so much, but my work schedule and then the TH-cam schedule keeps us away! I wish I could go, and hope to do it in the future...
Question: Could the 70mm Thundirds F-16 be a first edf. I'm 14 and have been flying a Valiant and 4s T-28 for 3 years. I also have a lot of simulator time. Because I'm on a tight budget, I want to get a one and done edf that I can always enjoy.
Love to see if it can handle grass ops
How’d you already get this plane?? It’s still only pre-order…
A B18 with reverse thrust hahaha - you and that darn Spektrum! It genuinely seems that everytime I design a new scratch build subject E-Flite brings out a better ready to fly version of the exact subject that I could never beat and so one by one my scratch building is dying and my hangar is filling with Horizon airplanes. Not complaining just saying - I even ordered two power systems for my scratch Beech - oh well.
I know Amelia’s bird was a Lockheed Electra but the Beech is close enough that it has been used in movies about her and definitely going to be done up in her red trim for me, lazy evening approaches will be my homage to Amelia - just needs a sound module
I noticed pre order is only available until 9/16. The big deadline for rid... what's horizons plan?
Is this a hard plane to fly? Looks amazing, could I survive with this as a 3rd plane or earlier or would It not last long? Great Video!
I do not believe this would make a good 3 D plane😂😂
@@boss2234 3D or 3rd? And I’m kinda new so I don’t really know, it looks beautiful so that’s why I als
I think I am not going to watch this video 🤣. Because the last two I watched from you made me purchase the tested planes 😁😁😁 (Corsair F4U and FMS Pitts 1400 👍). Cheers from Switzerland 😀
Question.... Is this plane prone to ground loops. I've always had issues with tail draggers. But does the motors being tied with the rudder help with that. I don't know if this makes any difference but I only fly in safe mode.
When you engage thrust reverse, do you need to wait for the prop to stop spinning? Or can you just immediately flip the switch and it goes reverse? Looked like you just flipped to reverse. Thanks,
Just flip. Works on my ultimate 3d. The motor just applies braking slows it down pretty immediately and then spins the opposite way. That's why u set the braking function to be enabled and not have freewheeling. I just dont flip the switch at 100% throttle just to not stress things. Fine around 50% throttle. Either way the motor and esc will take care of the change over
Thanks
Been waiting for this or an Electra…. Dangit… there goes $450 🤣😬. My jaw literally hit the floor when I saw the thumbnail today
Which one do you prefer to fly between this one and the Twin Timber?
Hey I have an aeroscout and I was wondering if you had any ideas on where I could fly it because my backyard is too big and all the parks near me have ordanices
AWESOME 👍 one of my all time favorite airplanes 😁... And they did it nice... Is it me or does it look a little "fat"?
Hey Brian, are you going to video the removal of the power lines?
Has anyone figured out how to change the main gear wheels? I bought some DuBro wheels but not sure on Change procedure
Maybe I missed it but, how does this model handle without any stabilization ?
Can we get a third thoughts on the air tractor?
is it a good plane for a ish beginner ?
BRIAN!! Do you have the new Hangar 9 PT-19 yet, from HH? I want to order, but want to use your link, first. I just saw the pre-order in my email today.
Not yet! You can always use the "Master Link" for Horizon Hobby at the top of the description and search for anything on their site, but here's the direct link to the new PT-19...
bit.ly/3UvelVz
Thanks so much for your support! We truly appreciate it!
I don’t get how you program that differential thrust I want to get this plane but I want to be able to have max throttle on one motor for flat spins
The differential thrust is all ready programed in the esc.
@@michaelrobertson4745 i know that i wanted to know if you could change the %of differentail in it
Beautiful plane but for 450 bucks I wish they would’ve added gear doors.
Will it run on 10s
What is the estimated ship date.
Similar to the Electra too isn't it?
I want a scale DC-3.
If I had 400 dollars to spend on an airplane, right now, THIS would be the one.
I hope you don't see me as picky but at those speeds you'll never convince any aficionado that they are viewing the real deal. I hunger for scale speeds in all that I produce.
