    I feel like I just went to Spektrum radio school. That radio set up finally made sense to me, I've watched all the spectrum channel how-to videos and usually come away more confused than anything. Thanks for the in-depth radio setup. I know I'm gonna be referring back to this many times in the future. Brian is one of the people you would love to have living next door.

    I need to correct you on the leading edge on the Jet stream, they don't have leading edge boots that inflate. They take bleed air off the engine and run it via large bore pipe inside the leading edge, The leading edge is high polish Alu possibly 7075 T0 then pressed into a rubber die then heat treated up to T64 .
    Great channel Brian love your presentation.

    Brian and Megan, Thanks for your video... very helpful...I thought about the AR637T! Then I thought about the AR630, without Antennae's. What is the difference, if any? won't they do the same thing? Hmmm! Lot's to think about there!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Difference is the "Fly By" Telemetry on the AR630, and the notable absence of VOLTAGE INPUT. This will only be an issue if you DON'T end up with an Avian ESC ;)
      We are putting in Twin 60 Amp Avian's as soon as they show up, and want to share the process....it's gonna be epic...thrust reverse just like in a REAL Gulfstream ...can't wait to do this project!!!

Yet to invest in my first system, but watched a lot of videos so far (Mostly yours) and I think I'm set on the Carbon Cub 2s BNF kit and upgrade the transmitter and receiver? Going to tune in to your 2+ hour Carbon Cub video now. Didn't watch it before because until this video my You Tube attention span was about 30 minutes.

      When you get ready to jump in, just get the RTF combo and see how much you love it, which will be a lot ;) Then you can spend a lot more money on BNF with NX8 and better chargers...and loads of batteries and planes in your future, but take it one step at a time. You'll advance so quick, and if you CAN get a simulator for windy/rainy days and fly the heck out of that thing! Practice all the time - you'll want to anyway, but get out as frequently as you can to shorten the duration of newb status ;)

    I have a question. I crashed my t28 Trojan 1.1m. I took the electronics out of it plus the receiver, instead of buying another bnf, could I just get a PNP version, and just put the receiver out of the old one in it? And if I did with everything would still be the same

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      YES. This is fine, but keep in mind, if you get ANOTHER plane that's in PNP, the channels may be programmed to work in opposite directions, so you can either reprogram the Rx, after updating new firmware, so you can do a FACTORY RESET from FORWARD PROGRAMMING, or you can just use these on each of the controls that are backward...
      Servo Signal Reversers bit.ly/3B9nVpT HH | amzn.to/3bpECDf AZ | bit.ly/3tkn9yN BG
      ...and NO, you can't just swap the direction of travel on the Tx, you need AS3X and SAFE to work the right directions too...thus the need for the servo reversing.

    Negative Brian the ice management on this full size and most jets is a metal leading edge that uses either exhaust bleed or a heating system to melt the ice off, a pneumatic boot would be useless and counterintuitive on jet aircraft, turboprops utilize the blown boots system of rubber leading edges - that's why they are chromed here, the same system is evidentnon all jet nacelle intake rings, that's why they are almost always chrome/natural metal in finish. The antenna on the vertical is you UHF antenna indeed

      I had a lot of problems with this plane. If your plane doesn't go to full throttle, this can be sometimes corrected by "calibrating" the throttle range. This is easy, but only if you do it right!!! Other wise, it can be somewhat dangerous - FYI.
      First, verify the ESC make and model.
      Search Programming Above information...
      the process should be similar to this...
      From plane off, transmitter off.
      Power Tx, full throttle.
      Power plane, keeping prop well away from your body (remove if necessary).
      Once the ESC fails to initiate, you can wait for a series of beeps and whatnot (this is where it's helpful to have a programming manual for the Make and Model...yes, they do vary over time for even the same plane).
      Usually on the first sounds, you can throw the throttle to ZERO...and the ESC will initiate. Now check the power from 0% (stick all the way down) to 100% (Still all the way up)...and you should be calibrated now.
