Sorry about your dad man… I lost mine in 2013 to cancer. Most of the time I’m ok, but every now and then I still get choked up reminiscing about him… Especially when I see his face in the mirror, or when looking at my sons. Rest in heaven, and may God bless your family going forward. On a lighter note, nice truck brother… I take delivery of mine April 24. 👊🏽💯
I have a 2021 crewcab Z71 RST 3.0 4x4 standard bed. I paid 52k for it & average 700 miles to a tank (highway miles) per week. I'm at 46k miles & have had zero issues so far. Lm2 is not burning oil & low end torque is amazing. Oil pump belt change is at 200k (revised) . I would recommend this baby duramax to anyone in the market for a full size truck with 30 mpg +. I love my truck & have zero regrets. Haters will continue to hate........ just smile.... sorry for your loss Dave 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I have a 2023 Denali with the LZ0. They have addressed what they learned from experience with the LM2. This is the most refined drivetrain I have ever owned! I’m 68 and I’ve been buying new vehicles since the 80’s. My last vehicle was a 2020 ZL1. Yes, I’m usually buying gm. I get 23 mpg around town and I live in the mountains. Believe me it’s the smoothest and most refined power delivery I’ve ever seen!
So sorry to hear about the loss of you Father I’m so glad your back I actually bought a Silverado with the 3.0 after watching your videos on your truck really enjoy you videos 👍🏼
Sorry for your loss. I didn’t want to sell my truck either. And was is the same situation where we needed a family car, what I did was found a decent 04’ suburban and it worked out great for those couple times we need it. Plus I was able to remove the back seats and keep things locked in it when going fishing and things like that. Just my 2 cents anyways.
Sorry to hear about your father. I’m glad you’re doing better and taking care of business. Appreciate the review. I think I’m going to grab one of these.
Sorry for your loss, I hope your dad lived a long life and took a lot of memories with him. This past winter we had -43C, Canada eh, got up in the morning to go work out with my buddy. My 2021 GMC 3500 6.6 gas did not start, but guess what, my wife’s 2023 Tahoe 3L diesel did, I was shocked.
Sorry to hear about your father! Your review is very solid though. You weren’t trying to sell anything, just giving thoughts and opinions. Keep up the great videos
21 Sierra AT4 here with the 3.0 duramax. Currently only 35,000 km on the truck and for the last 4 months it has been nothing but problems. ECM has been replaced(1 month back order on parts) then within 20 km the injectors failed and needed to be replaced. Currenty it's back in the shop with a diagnosed failed turbocharger, once again no stock inventory of them. Have loved the truck but worried about the reliability factor due to living a very remote location well away from any dealer.
Very sorry to hear about your dad. It took me a long time to recover from loosing my dad. It is pretty awesome you can go so long between fillups. The tundra hybrid does not even get that kind of fuel mileage per their window sticker.
Sorry about the loss of your Dad. Mine left me in 2020, I think of him daily. My 21' RST has just South of 25K. My dealer is trying to get me to trade up to a 24'. Looking for new truck as my 2019 Ford Ranger with 60,000 had transmission go out and need overhauled spending 13 weeks at Ford doing so!! I was going to go back to a Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier till couple of friends purchased GMC ATX4 with mini diesel and heard the gas mileage they were getting. But man the price is a killer!! Looking at maybe a used one couple years old with 20-30,000 miles. They are nice though!!
I bought a 2023 3.0 Silverado. I've been driving it very conservatively. The best mileage I have been able to get is 29. Usually with the cruise set at 76 on the Freeway I'll get 25ish. Truck has 3500 miles so far. What am I doing wrong. Why can't I get consistent upper 20s on Freeway drives?
Thank you for keeping the reviews going, I have the same truck but I'm at 27k miles in 2 years, so you are a good reference to see potential issues. Did you evere replace the shock absorvers? I have the X-31 package and I'm not happy with the Ranchos, the truck is excessively bumpy, bounces a lot on little bumbs on the road, and it gets unstable in no time. I'm willing to put the Bilstein schicks.

I am a new subscriber have test drove a couple 3.0 litter durmax trucks, and would like to say I am sorry for your loss of your Dad. I was wondering have you had oil consumption issue on your truck. By the way I looked at a GMC Denalli loaded but vehicle was over 70,000 hard to buy at that price. Love your youtube channel you say things like they are. Thanks again Happy New Year!
just bought a 23 silverado rst with the 3.0 LZ0, a little over 3k miles and see no oil consumption. I have mainly seen this issue in the previous gen motor, the LM2.
Spring knock? Are you talking about your leaf springs? There’s a shackle that goes around the leafs on my 22 Silverado. Spray some WD-40 on them and I’ll bet you the knock goes away. Just something about that metal shackle with the plastic bushing.

What oil do you run? I know in one of your videos you quit using the dexos d stuff. My 2021 will burn at least a quart of ac delco stuff when I’m about 30 percent oil life left. When I use valvoline I don’t get any burn off. I’m at 100 000 kilometres on mine and my trucks been all over. But no major complaints. First 25000 or so I had the no start long crank issue. At least once a week. Got videos of it. Dealer wouldn’t touch it. Then I had the charge air cooler replaced under warranty at 40000 and then again at 100000. Same thing twice. My engine temp also runs all over the place, never sits at one temp. A change from city driving to the highway the needle will creep up 3/4 way to red line for about 10 mins then crawl back to the middle.
