The grand finale of this short build series...the payoff! She runs and she runs well! I'm excited to report the SS is finally tuned and I'm enjoying that supercharged goodness once again! It's a very straightforward build with some pretty cool parts that make the swap a snap! Enjoy today's episode and if you have any questions please ask away. Big thanks for Derek Dunbar (Derek@DDTechtuning.com) for his wizardry on the keys...he's always a huge help dialing her in!

Street LSA for Your Chevy SS or G8 - Part 5 - RotoFab Relo Tank and Washer Motor Install
มุมมอง 128หลายเดือนก่อน
So this video is a bit about false starts and trying something that ultimately doesn't work....looks bad....or just doesn't feel right. In this case I tried to mimic what was done by other TH-cam folks with the Rotofab tank, which was pretty successful. The washer motor solution, however, had to be a different approach because the recommended one was ugly and didn't work for me. Follow along as...

LSA Supercharger Swap for Your Chevy SS or G8 - Part 2
มุมมอง 2993 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a much shorter update for Part 2 where I pick off the blower lid and intercooler brick swap for the C&R unit, then handle a bunch of little underhood things. Of course I find a bunch of things I still need to do but that's how it goes, right!? Follow along as I move through this "budget" swap to bring SS back to its former LSA glory! LSA Supercharger Swap for Your Street SS or G8 - Part 1
มุมมอง 2323 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is part 1 of a multi-part series in swapping an LSA supercharger on your Holden VE or VF US platform - Pontiac G8, Chevy SS, and more. While my SS has already had a very stout LSA set up a few years back, I decided to take a different approach here and max out the stock fueling system to see what she does. This will most likely lead to an aux pump and ported blower, blah blah blah, but for...

Well folks, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Duramax Sierra is long gone. Been several months since I traded her in and got this absolute unit...a 2024 Chevy Suburban RST. Billet Fuel Filter Housing to the Rescue for the 3L Duramax
มุมมอง 1.8K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been procrastinating on this one because I was worried it would be a real PITA to get the original fuel filter housing off the truck but a little ingenuity (and dumb luck) worked out for us this time! The billet fuel filter housing from the DMax Store found below is a nice robust piece that will make your fuel filter changing a breeze....or at least take away the worry I had from stripping...
J&B Shortline Episode 12 - Updates, Strasburg 90 and Cool New Tools!!!

Been a while since I was able to give you an update. I'm finally back at it on the layout and am planning to take a few steps back to go forward. In this episode I highlight my nearterm plans, what I want to change and how I plan to make that happen. 3L Duramax Sierra (almost) 75K Mile Review

It's been a looooong time since I posted on this. 2023 was a rough year for me personally and professionally, but it's a new year and things are getting better. We're around the 75K mile mark on the '21 and I give my not-so-concise thoughts on my 3L Duramax. Am I still in love with her??? Watch to find out!
New Jeep Wrangler 4Xe in Wharton State Forrest!
มุมมอง 24910 หลายเดือนก่อน
So go easy on me folks...I've always wanted to do some more true offroad things, but my Sierra really isn't geared for it. In a moment of weakness, I gave the greenlight for a new Jeep Wrangler...this particular one being a Sport 4Xe variant. This is just breaking her in on the Wharton State Forrest trails. I'll do a more proper review in a bit, but please enjoy and if you're new, like comment ...

It's been a while since I posted and with good reason, but I'll get into that more later. We have a great update on the J&B Shortline Layout with a new addition to the fleet - the N&W 611 J Northern! This loco holds a special place in my heart as my recently deceased father had the opportunity to drive that beast in Strasburg a few years ago. Who keys cars anymore?? What an A hole!
It may have something to do with the active grille air shutter and/or connections to it. I hit a deer and had the front grille and light assembly replaced and got 4 codes pop at the same time. P2C7A, U0824, U0825 and U1345. Ive drpve about 1,000 miles since the body work was done and the code was triggered.
Sorry to hear about your father. I’m glad you’re doing better and taking care of business. Appreciate the review. I think I’m going to grab one of these.
what is the torque on that bolt ? or just get a fomoto quick change valve .th-cam.com/video/VHIoQb2WPL0/w-d-xo.html
3.0L Durmax easy upgrades: I upgraded the drain plug to a magnet, and upgraded the fuel filter housing because it was absolutely trash. I also found on Etsy a guy who makes a fuel cap that goes over it - so you don't end up being a moron and putting the wrong fuel into the tank, upgraded the latch and oil cap as well. Can all be found on DMAX store. Hopefully this helps. Thinking of upgrading the fuel system filter, and oil catch can... but might not.
My Chevy dealer in here in Canada charges $209 + tax for an oil & filter change on the Baby Max, more than they charge for the big Duramax.
Thanks for documenting the washer tank relocation Dave. Really starting to become a pain not having one lol.
It been awhile since Ive seen your videos but didnt you already have a lsa on that car before
@@jus1975 yep, did indeed. Went NA for awhile but missed the power. Didn’t want to go nuts on this build and see what can really be accomplished on a stock fuel system with no aux pump or pump upgrades. Very happy with the result.
Great to see you back in the blower fam again Dave!! For rear tire, look at the Nitto DR NT555RII
Sorry I love your ss it's gourgus that's my favorite color wish mine was that color
I want to do something to my ss but don't really know witch way to go I want to keep it street able but bad ass at the same time
@@kennyhayes8488 this might be for ya my friend. Plenty of power, streetable, but fries tires at will!
@@BanditDavesToyChest Thanks my friend
Hey buddy . Love seeing these
That always happens to me.if i try to save money it always cost me more.keep up the videos love them .i have a 2014 ss sandan and i love it
@@kennyhayes8488 got a great one coming today!
Sorry I forgot to say that I had a catalyst low efficiency code as well. Tried a product called Cataclean at AutoZone. It knocked that code out as well. 👍👍
I just tried the A/C on and Front/Rear defrost on. Guess what?? It worked!!! No O2 HTR pending code!! Vehicle 🚗 can pass with one pending code. Thanks my friend
My tires sound like a prostitute sky diving naked. It’s a 2024 sierra 3.0 duramax AT4. I like the truck but GM says it’s the tires and nothing they can do. Charged me to rotate the tires which helped a bunch, but can’t wait to get new tires. The Goodyears are terrible. Decent power, good ride, smart tech, sometimes I swear I can smell diesel fuel. I like the honest review, have 18k miles and have some of the same annoying issues. My last truck was a 21 Ford 3.5 twin turbo, had more power but ate gas like it was 1972.
The Goodyear Duaratrac’s in my 18 were garbage. Sucked in the rain etc etc. Dry rotted with less than 40k. I went with the Mickey Thompson AT’s. Phenominal Tire! Quiet, grip is great when wet (they’re snow rated) decent look for an AT. Love them!
Get er done mate
Changed the oil on my LZ0 last weekend and noticed the oil pan is leaking. I snugged up all the bolts in a cross pattern and sprayed brake cleaner to clean it up. I’ll check it again in 1k miles. If leaking I’m installing a PPE pan. 20k miles…. And yes I’ve rounded out the plug too - use a 6 pt socket only.
Love your videos Dave I have a 2014 red ss sandan they are amazing cars .I love watching you super charge yours i wish I could super charge mine but for now I'll enjoy you doing yours 😅buy the way that's a beautiful car love the blue that's my favorite color. How I ended up with mine is I went to Jeff Gordon Chevrolet to get a zl1 and they had sold it he showed me the ss sandan and after Driving it I feel in love with it.such a good riding car .it's been lowered custom rims rear duck tail spoiler and that's it .only 1400 miles on it never seen the rain always in the shop out of the weather.cant Waite to hear you start yours up .be safe and God bless
@@kennyhayes8488 excellent story sir! I had a bit of a convoluted path to getting my SS way back in 2016 as well! It was someone with a supercharged G8 that convinced me to look at the platform. I had been searching for a red GXP and they were holding their value STRONG in the $30s when GM did the 20% off offer. Went to look and test drove and welp….same reaction as you. Fell in love. Mine only has 14k miles on it atm so I’m obviously messing with it more than driving it but that’ll change soon! 👍🏻
Holden's color is RED.. so leave it like it is or paint it a shinny red. great work on setup. I used PNP tech works pump bracket but yours looks good. Keep the great info coming..
It's on the tip of the bit
Is say pant the lsa cover black ans have lettering same blue as car...
Loving the videos Dave. If you don't mind, can you go in depth on the next one on how you're solving the windshield washer tank issue? maybe even get us a parts list? Had to rip mine out to fit my trans cooler and it's def a PITA having to stop and clean my windshield every time it gets dirty lol.
@@johnd3140 will do and is incoming…part of my solution showed up yesterday haha.

I have the same code ., did you just erase the code ? Did ever the check engine come back ?
@@joaquinelectric1 It would come back usually when it was cold and I didn’t warm it up enough….id erase it while I was driving to work…lol

Cover body color would look great.

Hey there. Great vid. I have a 22 with 100k Miles. Just a fyi. My hands free sensor for the tailgate has gone blurry. I think the moisture gets into it. Still works, but looks ugly. Keep an eye on as you are under warranty. Part is I think $50 US? Sorry I am 🇨🇦 and it's about $75 here. Enjoy your truck. It's a great truck.
I bought my 23 3.0 because of u video …
@@watchmanexpert the new engine is superior to the LM2…I loved that engine and truck and miss it quite a bit. Would have kept it had it not been for my family hauling needs.
love the car buddy! currently have a completely stock perfect blue 2015 ( auto ). shopping around some LSA kits, really wanting to do boost districts kit and leave stock cam, maybe do headers eventually. hoping to be able to make 550-600 wheel! Question, do these LSA's whine like yours without upgrading the pulley or is that something that will have to be done? It's music to my ears the way your blower sounds! lol cheers
Yooo I’m about to go lsa or torquestrom what’s better for that top end power I like roll racing !!
@@Chalrzz between the two I’d probably go procharger/torque storm for roll racing. LSA is a blast down low and mid range but you can feel it start to flatten out up top. Make sure you converter the car properly tho.
@@BanditDavesToyChest I got an upgraded torque converter and gears and stage 3 custom btr cam I’m gonna risk it and go with the torquestrom I’ll post updates once I order it !

REALLY makes me want to do this to my bone stock '14 SS....650 is a nice number. EDIT**** you make it look almost too simple.
@@jr3628 it really IS that simple. You have to track down the parts or buy a kit for things like the accessory drive and emissions lines but it is very straightforward. More coming this weekend!!

Have you ever had a NO START? What did you do, or how did you fix it?
Glad to see you back and sorry about your dad. I know I hate cancer and the cancer society. They could have a cure and they have held back due to wanting to receive the $400 million a year in donations. I have lost 3 close friends to cancer this last 2 years.... As far as the truck and a bed cover... I recommend a Diamondback cover. I have one on my 2020 AT4, 2 years old now. I load it up on trips and never had to worry about the contents getting wet or stolen. I have flipped the back half over and put a half yard of dirt, compost or gravel in it on top of a tarp. It's easy to clean out, looks awesome and secures my load. I can climb around on top of it and load things on it. This is the first cover I have ever had, so I can't say anything about others... Traded in my 2015 Silverado 3500 for this AT4 in Dec 2019 and have fallen in love with it. I average about 24-25 mpg back and forth to work 40 miles away and around town. I think that is pretty good for a full-size pickup. God bless.
