- The second war smashed onto our screens bigger and better than before! The introduction of the new house robot Sir Killalot brought shock and awe to the wars. New presenter Craig Charles presents, Johnathon Pearce commentates and Philippa Forrester interviews the teams. The six combatants are Mortis, Oblivion, Dreadnaut, Rameses II, Challenger an Griffon.
LET THE SECOND WARS BEGIN!

Should be noted that the Mortis team didn't like the preferential treatment. Rob Knight actually refused to drive Mortis when it got a second chance at the scoring.
Mortis In Series Two was pretty good!But it was in the War For Independence that made The Robot well known!
lol, Mortis coming in like "woah, where am i goin hold ma beer" :D
A total of FIVE teams headed by roboteers from the first wars, and one from close to every heat - interesting. (That's The Mouse, Mortis, Dreadnaught, Scarab, and Cunning Plan).
Yeah, not like Typhoon or Tornado who took full advantage of favoritism, the Mortis guys really had a sense of fair play, and I personally respect them for that
Ahhh mortis, from my hometown :D
Spikes, 3 house robots and pits. Yeah this would be best route to pick...
@imytt2002
The seeding was also based off of how well they expected it to perform if I recall correctly.
Good to see Mortis back and coming in hard, I think they should have won the match they lost in Series 1
Can't wait to see Chaos 2, Hypnodisk and Firestorm. Some of my all time favourites.
Gavpwn And Razer? :O
Oh yeah, Razer too! :D
Cool, I love Behemoth and Nemesis.
Glad to finally start to see robots get pitted more often
Mortis was such a fierce robot! I remember rooting for them watching this heat in 1998 after being snubbed previous series, funny they take on Matilda & Sgt Bash even after completing the gauntlet. Oblivion looks rather small
@imytt2002
because, it lost in the final of it's heat... and there's only one more fight after that. Beyond that, it's loss was contraversial. And beyond THAT, it had some of the most impressive armaments and defenses of any of the robots.
I love the fact that it didn't bother crossing the finish line... it just attacked the house robots as much as it could and did some real damage XD
its like galdiators for robots..!!
mortis looked so much cooled with the black Kevlar pattern than metallic.
@Scrapyard24c Very True I was thinking that too
Awwww Robot wars is my most missed thing in my life I would kill for it to be back on ='(
@Aldo636 series 4. it was retired after series 5.
I think Mortis is one of the most expensive robots at something like over £40k!
no its £10,000 it's second to Rapid
@Aldo636
5 or 6 but thats a guess.
DON'T LOSE TO MORTIS!
anyone get the feeling robot wars was sponsored by Sinclair C5 motors?
Quiz

- yes
-No
Why is Mortis seeded 2 when it didn't even make it to the finals of series 1? Confused :S
Is Robot Wars annual or are there a few competitions every year?
I think it's an annual thing with the live shows, though they go to several places throughout the country. And it'll even be back on TV in a few months time!
CaruCath97 Oh, and I know it's coming back on TV, I hope it's on in America.
when did gemini appear?
Goes to show that all the money in the world can't make your robot automatically win.
No Killalot?
mortis is still the same though...is it?
@imytt2002 because the seeding was messed up. lol
Lol, Arthur Chilcott claimed that they had the most impressive weapon and robot on the site!
Errr.....did you see the next heat? It began with an r......
errrr why was mortis seeded 2 it didn't even get to the final
Seems like if you threw a prisoner in that area, it'd be a really good way to torture someone to death.
How the hell did Mortis get the 2nd place seeding when they didn't even make the final? I get that they were the producers' favourite (enough that they'd even bend the rules for them) and they were certainly one of the best-engineered robots (the Razer of their time) but that does seem a bit over-generous.
Especially since they protested against the producers 'helping' them - they're almost the antithesis to Storm II (who the producers desperately tried to prevent from winning)
+CaruCath97 Wouldn't that make them more like the antithesis to Typhoon II, who cheerfully accepted the producers' help and played along with their bullshit in the final match?
Hmmm... I guess, though Tornado played along as well when they were raised from the pit (at least one of the Tornado team helped the Storm team fix the robot)
The brick wall was so stupid - it just completely fucked up robots with actual potential. The barrels worked far better.
It didn't help that the house robots were horribly inconsistent as well. Some robots they seemed to help along and others they'd just gang up on quickly. It would've been better to have maybe just one house robot (Bash or Matilda) guard the entire course.
Oblivion at 58.7 kg. Any lighter and it would be a middleweight.
@R33Racer Mortis costs £30,000.
Looks like a Biohazard clone to me.
brick wall = bullshit
barrel wall = too easy
The Mortis team are so arrogant. Great robot but I wanted them to lose just because of how smarmy its team was.
they where rich kids dumping thousands onto their robot to try and get an easy win... typical Cambridge students
and Overdone in my view, Cevlar Tank Armour, Areo-Space grade Titanium and Aluminum along with a Japanese Sharpend Blade, Its a Combat Robot, NOT A MILITARY MINE SWEEPIGN BOT
