- The second war smashed onto our screens bigger and better than before! The introduction of the new house robot Sir Killalot brought shock and awe to the wars. New presenter Craig Charles presents, Johnathon Pearce commentates and Philippa Forrester interviews the teams. The six combatants are Killertron, Technophobic, Orac, Spin Doctor, Schumey and Pain.

"BACK TOWARDS THE PIT!!!!!!! I hope Technophobic isn't claustrophobic or arachnophobic...... there're spiders down there!...... It's dark and gloomy! ...... AND YOUR GOING DOWN!"
I've never understoof why everybody loves the pit. Instakills are no fun, I wanna see some destruction! Get that metal armour mangled and rip the innards out of those bots!
Exactly. Killertron went out to Roadblock in the first heat, yet everyone seemed to have forgotten that by series 2, including the team themselves!
4:18 height of technology, 9 TVs put together
This was the 1st pitting in robot wars.
I believe each heat was considered its own league as the arena battles were considered the semi-finals so technically I guess Killertron was a finalist, just not in the overall grand final.
I don't know, the old episodes of Robot Wars were weird.
@ 6:28, Epic Quote!
No,Killerton you weren't in the grand final of the 1st wars
This was the Grand Final of Series 1:
Roadblock vs Recyclopse vs Robot The Bruce vs Cunning Plan vs Bodyhammer vs T.R.A.C.I.E.
Killertron=wibble wobble wibble wobble distructive jelly on a plate.
4th in the 2nd wars. From Joe. X
Finally they stopped announcing the judges we didn't even care about in the first place
Glad Craig finally stopped reintroducing the same panel of judges every episode at long last. We know who they are by now.
Damn Killertron's axe was good. EASILY the best competitor axe we saw until Dominator 2. But they beat Technophobic with sheer driving skill. Weird that even the Killertron Team themselves bought into the error that they were in the series 1 final.
Killertron was 4th in series 2 of the wars. From Joe. X
He was from Bromley in Kent. From Joe. X
Killertrone was good in the second series cause it pickaxe was caused loss of damage and then everyone made their armor better and the pickaxe became useless
Killertron was 4th in series 2.
closest match ever spin doctor and technophobic
It was only this little piece of plastic that was on fire
what is that piece of plastic?
the lid of the petrol tank
Technophobic's.
Not sure why everyone kept saying that... the Killertron team themselves said they were grand finalists when asked by Craig at the end!
Too bad Spin Doctor didn't go further. Very good robot.
Spin doctor vs. Hypnodisc would have been interesting, spin doctor's armor in this series was likely too weak though.
Unfortunate Orac and Spin Doctor broke down in these semis but remember being chuffed Killertron won, they deserved it.
Smart move from Technophobic, intentional or not. Setting it on fire meant that the house robots wouldn't attack it or Spin Doctor.
The fuel tank lid came loose. From Joe. X
It's a shame, I wanted a Spin Doctor vs. Killertron final, that would have been a lot more entertaining
At least, useless until the Pickaxes themselves were upgraded. (Eg. Dominator II and Terrorhurtz)
How the hell was mortis seeded 2nd he didn’t get to the final
2:47 Killertron was not a grand finalist of the last series.
How did Orac even make it to the battles?
@froll1999 dude
I heard that
and I literally went:
"TRRRRROLOLOLOLOLOL MOLOTOV COCKTAIL"
Its annoying that almost all the robots die because of a wiring gone wrong or something. I miss a real fierce battle!
Yet another seed number discrepancy, It seems they just wanted to make the most popular robots seems like veterans. Maybe they thought nobody watched the first series at the time. The fact that the team themselves agreed with it directly makes me think it's something very deliberate, probably by the producers.
Damn producers, their meddling was the reason the show went off the air. Diotors team sabotaging other 'bots in later series? Total fictional drama ordered by meddling producers, especially as that team was often given the sportsmanship award.
The Sabotage thing happened in the 'Extreme' series which was full of fictional drama and roboteers pretending to be obnoxious jerks for the cameras, by design. That was just the way the producers wanted to present that series. That part of it sucked, but that series also gave some great moments in the arena ;)
FunnyThingy I think I've read on the wiki that the seeds weren't set by win rate, but more by preference/popularity/chance to win, I mean a robot that can easily go up ramps and has a powerful pickaxe looks like something that can win, especially in those early days of robot wars ?
But yeah, there were plenty of hidden "behind the show" things, like the 3 placeholder robots in the first season.
I think they must have taken into account that Killertron lost their heat final against road block, the eventual champion, in another heat they would have probably gone through. It doesn't help that there were only enough robots for 6 heats (well not even enough for that actually hence the stock robots) and nobody really knew how good each robot was so there were a couple of heats were all the robots were crap and others, like heat A, where several were good so that will have scewed things slightly.

It's still a wrong statement, and weak heats were always a problem up until the 7th wars. Personally I think it's more the producers, some other things show that manipulating happened in earlier series as well, but it was on less important cases so that's why noone made a big deal about it, think they found Killertron's weapon to be destructive, and as such wanted them to win.
