Hey mate - the pan is one of the best one's I've had out here. Made by Kassa bought in Thai Watsudu I think that's how you spell it. I have another one made by Tefal that is ok too! Thank you. Best, Rik
This definitely needs to be more widely known. I have lived here for years now and have to make my own as no one knows how to make them. Ditto scallops and milkshakes. If anyone can disabuse me please do!
Looks interesting, although I haven't had anything that big since I was in my 20s whis a long time ago. We would call that the kitchen sink sandwich. Our big burger is 3 patties of beef, pepper jack cheese, good pickles although they can be on the side. I put horse radish on or a horse radish mustard. Hate fast food burgers. Had to many when I was young and to busy to make my own. Second favorite is a chile cheese burger.
That looks amazing, and I would love to give this a try. Thank you so much for the video! I'm late to the party, but is the beet root the pickled kind or plain?
This is actually a burger with lot plus pineapple and beetroot. Where I come from these 2 ingredients are not listed in the lot burger. Regardless its a grand burger indeed. Thanks for showing to the world. Its a brilliant burger.
I’m assuming you’re not Aussie, or the people running the shop aren’t. I’m 57 born and bred in Sydney and eaten a lot of burgers all around Australia. Burger with the lot always includes pineapple and beetroot. Even a plain burger has beetroot
Years ago my job was to cut and cook down the onions for burgers. They were almost caramelised. The rest of the ingredients are correct but thinner. The buns were toasted.
Never knew Aussies had a Beet, Pineapple Egg burger! Sounds weird at first but Pickled Beets would be good instead of Dill Pickles. Now you just need a little Sriracha on that to give it a kick, it works great with pickles so probably beets, too! With a salad you have all the food groups there!
Better than most in oz, sensational effort. For obvious reasons most slice toppings thinner and press patty thinner (admittedly different if doing it from frozen unless thin when pressed). Maccas used to do an Aussie but has since dropped it from the menu.
You need a skewer through that thing😂 Now I would have had to stop at the onion but I'm sure a lot of people would really love that. That is ridiculous😁😁
Wow, that's a tall burger. I don't think I could wrap my mouth around it. It looks delish, but I think I'd have to take knife and fork to that one. LOL
Ha ha ha - yes it is probably the best tasting burger in the world to me. Love pineapple and beetroot the combo makes this burger. Could cut everything thin and squish it - not for me, I love mess. Thank you. Best, Rik

You really bigged up our lovely Aussie burgers Rik, yours I would call gourmet because you have used your homemade bacon, which looks awesome, however, here in Aussieland we cook our onions and we cut the tomatoes, bacon and pineapple thin so that the end result is less gigantic. I love the look of yours tho....thanks for sharing, I am dribbling,,,,
You are right, these are the best burgers on the planet, served up with a a side order of potato scallops and a milkshake, , heaven. I watched thousands of these cooked in my lifetime, Onions are always cooked and no mayo, not in my time. Also a burger with the lot does not include pineapple. The correct order for this is Burger with the lot plus pine.
Wider thinner slices of everything, reduces the "tower" effect yours had. One thin slice of bacon One slice of cheese Pineapple optional.( Not for me) Onions cooked.(I prefer without onions) Egg usually cooked in egg ring, yoke poked when cooking to stop running. You got the key ingredient. Look up Andrew's Hamburgers in Albert Park - been making them for decades. Not a bad effort for a Pom.
Hi Rik, you needed a stake through that to keep it together, maybe a traditional oz flag to to represent the importance of the Burger. maybe it should have been kangaroo!!!!!!
My goodness Rik,that was interesting I had never heard of this Australian dish, learn something new every day.I like my hamburgers a bit plainer, about 6-8 ounces of beef pan,or grill cooked to a nice pink middle, then a slice of cheese, and a dollop of ketchup,or if I’m going crazy then some nice onion, fried,or raw.Seriously though Rik about the beetroot is it pickled as we always had it in England when I was a child,or is it just cooked, which I first had in the States? thanks Rik😊
Haha. Not bad. Buns would always be a bit bigger, so not so top heavy, with shredded iceburg, and it's rare to use mayo . Always cooked onions. Pineapple never grilled. They always ask - bbq sauce or tomato sauce? Nice job.
The basic Oz burger is rissole, lettuce, tomato, onion (raw or fried), beetroot and tomato sauce. Grilled cheese, pineapple, egg etc are all extras (aka 'the Lot'). There are some big channels chucking out rubbish, and folks have no idea. I wont pull the wool over anyone eyes, and my wife is a qualified chef I helped her when she was training. When I say helped, we cooked together at home. She then completed everything herself with the exams. I'm proud of her - she is amazing, and has helped me understand real Thai cooking. Thank you. Best, Rik
@@BackyardChef I was very honoured to get some tips from a lovely Thai chef called ' Patria weerapan' ' some years ago . She won best Thai in the UK . Based in Teddington Middlesex. Sadly now closed it was a very small intimate place but the food was truly incredible...
She made it like you were guests coming to her place for dinner rather than the usual churned out tosh..
Soh ? , reminds me of her quite a lot .
Many blessings .🙏
Thats amazing Rik. I like a generous slice of homemade bacon. I always use your burger wrapping idea, even on my sausage patties. Can I ask you Rik. Where did you get the griddle pan and would you recommend it ?. All the ones I look at are paper thin.
Hey mate - the pan is one of the best one's I've had out here. Made by Kassa bought in Thai Watsudu I think that's how you spell it. I have another one made by Tefal that is ok too! Thank you. Best, Rik
OK, Rik. This burger looks absolutely amazing. But...how is one supposed to eat this tower? I know - knife and fork. Blessings.
Squash it! Thank you. Best, Rik
Looks great Rik!! Thanks yet again 👍👍👍
Thank you. Best, Rik
This definitely needs to be more widely known. I have lived here for years now and have to make my own as no one knows how to make them. Ditto scallops and milkshakes. If anyone can disabuse me please do!
Thank you. Best, Rik
That's a serious scooby snack!
Thank you. Best, Rik
Thank you. Best, Rik
It's called the farmers burger in Ireland. We've had them for years down around Cork.except for the beetroot...
Thank you. Best, Rik
That looks amazing, and I would love to give this a try. Thank you so much for the video! I'm late to the party, but is the beet root the pickled kind or plain?
Up to you - your choice . Thank you. Best, Rik
Thank You!
Thank you. Best, Rik
This is actually a burger with lot plus pineapple and beetroot. Where I come from these 2 ingredients are not listed in the lot burger. Regardless its a grand burger indeed. Thanks for showing to the world. Its a brilliant burger.
It is a brilliant burger. One of the best in the world I reckon. Thank you. Best, Rik
I’m assuming you’re not Aussie, or the people running the shop aren’t. I’m 57 born and bred in Sydney and eaten a lot of burgers all around Australia. Burger with the lot always includes pineapple and beetroot. Even a plain burger has beetroot
Love a fried egg on my burger. How to you eat that? With a big bib of course!
Thank you. Yes indeed! Best, Rik
Years ago my job was to cut and cook down the onions for burgers. They were almost caramelised. The rest of the ingredients are correct but thinner. The buns were toasted.
Thank you. Best, Rik
Thank you. Best, Rik
Better than most in oz, sensational effort. For obvious reasons most slice toppings thinner and press patty thinner (admittedly different if doing it from frozen unless thin when pressed). Maccas used to do an Aussie but has since dropped it from the menu.
Thank you. Best, Rik
You need a skewer through that thing😂
Now I would have had to stop at the onion but I'm sure a lot of people would really love that. That is ridiculous😁😁
It is I loved it. Thank you. Best, Rik
Wow, that's a tall burger. I don't think I could wrap my mouth around it. It looks delish, but I think I'd have to take knife and fork to that one. LOL
Thank you. Best, Rik
Wow Rik how on earth did that tower of a burger stay standing lol it must taste amazing once you can get your mouth around it 🤣thank you , 🍔Amanda xx
Ha ha ha - yes it is probably the best tasting burger in the world to me. Love pineapple and beetroot the combo makes this burger. Could cut everything thin and squish it - not for me, I love mess. Thank you. Best, Rik
@@BackyardChef I’m with you cram it all in can’t beat a messy burger 👌
@@amandah4834 Ha ha ha. Thank you. Best, Rik
❤thats crazy❤
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! It is crazy good! Thank you. Best, Rik
Is the beet root pickled or plain? Either way would be awesome! ❤
The beetroot here is homemade only slightly pickled. Thank you. Best, Rik
Absolutely love it!
Thank you. Best, Rik
Dagwood would be proud of your burger
Thank you. Best, Rik
You have it a good go Rik. Come out here and see what they do. Do 'yaself a fava'.
Thank you. Best, Rik
Blige Rik😳😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you. Best, Rik
Jeez one of these would do me two meals. Your five a day and all the protein you will ever need in a bun and a colourful bun at that.
Thank you. Best, Rik
I would certainly eat that, but without the melted plastic cheese. Extra points for beetroot (not pickled, I hope) and raw onion!
Thank you. Best, Rik
Yummmmmm
Thank you. Best, Rik
@BackyardChef sadly the shops here in Australia do not have them looking like that.
@@gaylefaulkner2360 Thank you. Best, Rik
Man Alive 😘. You never cease to amaze me 😘 Just listen to the snap of the freshness of that lettuce.😘 Such wonderful colours in that burger..I couldn't figure out how you would eat that😮😮 however I knew you would.😮😮.
Brilliant as usual,at teaching your viewers,,how to treat the minced meat.
Your a genius 😘😘😘
Ha ha ha - you know it going to get tackled. Listen to em moan about fried or raw onions, thin bacon ha ha ha an international controversy. Thank you. Best, Rik
@@BackyardChef I do get upset,, when people criticise you..... Praise the Lord,,, you can handle them all... It's not like you are asking them to eat .....😘😬😬😬
@@henriettagoldsmith5056 Thank you, Henrietta - I think I'm big enough to answer any comment - I won't tolerate any disgusting language - they are immediately banned from the channel even if they are subscribed. Most of the comments from folks are from know-it-alls that do not cook! It's obvious to anyone who cooks. The rest of the folks that actually do comment beneficially even if I disagree are benefitting all of us, and I welcome them. Please don't take any notice; I don't. Most complain about the way I speak - Ha ha ha I'm from Yorkshire and that isn't going to change. I love having you on here. Thank you. Best, Rik
You really bigged up our lovely Aussie burgers Rik, yours I would call gourmet because you have used your homemade bacon, which looks awesome, however, here in Aussieland we cook our onions and we cut the tomatoes, bacon and pineapple thin so that the end result is less gigantic. I love the look of yours tho....thanks for sharing, I am dribbling,,,,
Thank you. Best, Rik
Thank you. What i can't understand why anyone thinks there is a order to anything - its what you like to put in. Best, Rik
In Victoria it does include pineapple, and here we call them potato cakes 😀😀
@@Duchess_of_Cadishead I knew about your moniker for scallops! Had relatives in victoria so I used to travel down a lot.
Wider thinner slices of everything, reduces the "tower" effect yours had.
One thin slice of bacon
One slice of cheese
Pineapple optional.( Not for me)
Onions cooked.(I prefer without onions)
Egg usually cooked in egg ring, yoke poked when cooking to stop running.
You got the key ingredient.
Look up Andrew's Hamburgers in Albert Park - been making them for decades.
Not a bad effort for a Pom.
Eh Ta!
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.
Wow!. I've never had a burger with beetroot or pineapples before. R those beet root slices cooked or raw?
Cooked. Thank you. Best, Rik
Hi Rik, you needed a stake through that to keep it together, maybe a traditional oz flag to to represent the importance of the Burger. maybe it should have been kangaroo!!!!!!
Thank you. Best, Rik
My goodness Rik,that was interesting I had never heard of this Australian dish, learn something new every day.I like my hamburgers a bit plainer, about 6-8 ounces of beef pan,or grill cooked to a nice pink middle, then a slice of cheese, and a dollop of ketchup,or if I’m going crazy then some nice onion, fried,or raw.Seriously though Rik about the beetroot is it pickled as we always had it in England when I was a child,or is it just cooked, which I first had in the States? thanks Rik😊
Thank you. Best, Rik
Bloody Hell - size of that! That would last me a month!
Thank you. Best, Rik
Haha. Not bad. Buns would always be a bit bigger, so not so top heavy, with shredded iceburg, and it's rare to use mayo . Always cooked onions. Pineapple never grilled. They always ask - bbq sauce or tomato sauce? Nice job.
Thank you. Best, Rik
Right off i thought how's he going to handle that? Great.
Thank you. Best, Rik
