  • I made an essential oils cologne based of the doterra website. It smells very earthy with a hint of citrus.

    Deffo will be making this one that reaction "ohhhh" deffo must be a pleaser. 😂 ill hold the alcohol though my health comes first, smelling good comes second! Using coconut oil is the best carrier oil because it lasts longer with everything added apparently. Will update you with the scents! Gonna try the other dettora recipes too.

      alcohol doesnt make it stronger it helps it project because it evaporates quickly and the evaporation creates projection. Alcohol is not needed.

      I'm not John, but there are not much recipes on the Web. This hobby takes time and experimentation. Knowing your favorite notes will help. You needs top notes (mostly citruses and herbs) middle notes (mostly floral and spices) and base notes (woods, resins, musk). You can start with a simple mix like 1 top, 1 or 2 middle, and 3 bases. You need to keep your base notes enough high in the mix, because top notes will disappear soon.

    if you use perfumers alcohol or grain alcohol you will create edp with 20/80. you really need alcohol for a carrier.

    • @sjs9354
      @sjs9354 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Steve H Nawwwww Essential Oil in an oil carrier is very popular. You can find it in many stores and online. It goes on smoothly and lasts longer. Gone are the old fashioned ideas and days of alcohol base necessity and expensive perfumes, more often than not with synthetic fragrance. The problem is this is at least 15-20 times to much EO for a roller bottle. There should be 2 tea carrier oil in the 10 ml bottle with a few drops oil. He has no room for 2 tea carrier oil.

  • @fkgoogle666

    If that is a 10 mL bottle, that is way too many essential oil drops.
    I have been questioning if using 15 essential oil drops is too much for a 10 mL bottle, that equals to about 5% dilution rate.

    • @kenycewescott1295
      @kenycewescott1295 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fkgoogle666 so theres 2 ratios I've seen repeatedly which is 1-3-1 and another one that's 2-1-2. With an 20% E.O ratio and 80% Carrier Oil
      First ratio: top: 8
      middle: 24
      Base: 8
      This is more for Sensitivity & non reaction.
      Second Ratio: Base: 16 drops
      Middle: 8 drops
      Top: 16 drops
      Base Notes first, then middle & Top
      This is just for a 10ml bottle. I was also told to let your essential oils sit for at least a week before using

      Brock Leamon I always have this ratio: 15% Fragrant Oil & 10% carrier oil, 73% alcohol 2% distilled water.
      For EDP i use 20% fragrant oils and rest of the things accordingly but give and take Fragrance not more than 20% specifically if it is synthetic.

    This is an insane, UNSAFE ratio of essential oils to your carrier oil. Also, Coco Chanel is one who pioneered the use of man-made scents in her first fragrance, Chanel no 5. It was the first aldehydic perfume. So your statement that it was expensive because of the amount of essential oils used is just plain inaccurate.
