My recommendation as a perfumer is to explore using more aromachemicals. Perfumes made only with essential oils unfortunately usually smell very amateurish. Some other recommendations: 1. Utilize a variety of musks 2. Lily of the valley raw materials are absolutely imperative in getting a finished and refined feel 3. High impact materials need to be added in trace quantities, things like superambers or aldehydes or damascones, etc. 4. You need more materials haha… you always need more materials 🤑 5. Patience. It took me over a year to make my first big breakthrough and make a fragrance that smelled professional. You have to keep smelling, reading, collecting new materials, and most importantly experimenting Good luck and looking forward to seeing your progress
Think I’ll just buy Naxos. And cover the feminine dry down after a couple of hours with Joop La parfum. It adds some masculinity back. Do You know how many years and money to figure that out. 😂. I’m throwing up the white flag now. I’ll just pay to wear it.
@@rokinrandy it’s much cheaper to just buy the perfumes rather than attempt to recreate them haha. Perfumery is a great hobby but for example I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the last few years just in supplies, and have probably put in close to a thousand hours of studying and experimenting
@@kurush61hi how are you? Thank you for your advice I really appreciate it. I'm.acrually interested in making perfumes myself and want to get into it and the fact that you have your insights and advice after spending 1000 hours studying means alot and I am grateful for you sharing such insights. It's 3 years since your comment and I'm wondering if you're still into perfumery and making your own fragrances?
Man I'd love to see more of these kind of videos. I've always been interested in this part of perfumery but there aren't many, if any, youtubers atm who offer content like this
I've tried doing the same thing with a YSL cologne where I bought 90% of the ingredients listed on the box and put them all together. I could really go for one of those decant holders because I'm always afraid I'm going to knock it over when I'm crafting the cologne. BTW my creation was a failure so I went on to just try simple things like replicating molecule 1 and am happy with my creations now.
Absolutely love this video. As someone who is interested in getting into this I appreciate the knowledge you're giving out here. And I really enjoy the humor, especially at 4:30!! 👍😁
Even if you didn’t reach your objective. You have made a video that I’ve been looking for so long very educational for me

How didn't I discover this joy of a channel until now? Incredible informative content, dynamic editing, tasteful aesthetics... very, very cool. Regards from Barcelona.
This was very original in the realm of TH-camrs doing reviews. There is usually always that exact second when a reviewer does videos for others to doing reviews for money or gift incentives. I see it all the time and it's pretty to tell. I found a lot of good reviewers who I think are legit as doing the reviews for a passion for the art of perfumery. Jeremy is a prefect example of using subscribers for cash. He's not shy about admitting it. Anyways this channel is one I like.
Cool video. Something to consider when using the pipettes is to use it at an angle and not vertical, something I saw in the masterclass of perfumersworld mentioned by the great Stephen Dowthwaite.
Schoolofscent, I have seen that the tobacco absolute and rose absolute is quite expensive and I don’t have the money for it. Would you recommend any alternative to it? Would really appreciate an answer I am just starting this hobby, Thank you very much,
Nice in hope you stick with it for the channel. I too am going to start amateur perfume making. Once I move to my new place. I’ve watched a lot of videos , a lot in basenotes and blogs and have various supply contacts. Also keep in mind, from what I’ve read, naturals can be more unpredictable than synthetics when mixed. Plus the concentrate will smell different than the EDP (or whatever) of the final product
Can the same thing be done to fragrance or essential oils and then later added to the product? Isn’t the case is middle notes have to be more than both base and top notes?
Cool video, im new to this journey and this really makes me more interested to do it. But also, i am confuse of solvents on how you treat them if you both use it, for example the DPG, Ethanol and IPM- so if you decide this three solvents to use, how you will dial these all?
Omar, I love you Bro. Phenomenal video. I am getting jealous when I see your lab stuff at home hahah. I created some sort of start point or prototype for a rose fragrance. I used Iso E Super ambroxan ozonic accord and light airy rose accord. It I very airy in general and lasts for 2 hours xD. I want to improve it adding some professional perfume base, sandalore or ambers. Create more vids like this. Cheers!
Hello man i am into perfumes making i got the concentration like blue de chanel and allure homme sport i have done my research and mostly they said just pour alcohol and perfume concentration . The question is can i add fixative or perfume booster or anything to make it last longer?
I want to make a perfume, all my ingredients are diluted at 10% in alcohol, and I want to make a 20% eau de parfum how can I have 20% final concentration if all my aromas are at 10% help
Is there a simpler way to do this maybe? Or do you have a suggestion for a creating luxury scents for a reed diffuser at home? If you are not an expert like yourself I mean?
I don’t know why I haven’t got your sight before glad I did find it wish this type of video was worth the effort Maybe see if you can get hits with “copycat” or “clone” it the title great video

You dont have to follow the exact same notes to clone a fragrance ! different notes may form the same scent you are trying to mimic . Sometimes you can add more or eleminate notes as you want .
I think u should know this: what does 78% vol mean on a fragrance? Its not alchohol bcs it says that on my edt and they ussualy dont go over 15% perfume oils also o mostly see 78% on almost every fragrance?
Hey huge fan from America !I love cologne and love to smell good ! I’ve been subscribed for about 2-4 years. I’ve been thinking about making my own scents do you think I can order essential oils from amazon to make my scents ?
I wouldn’t recommend it, you’ll want a quality and consistent supplier that specialises in Perfumery, perfumer’s Apprentice would seem a better choice.
*damn, your contents are undeniably so cool and unique. we are so lucky to have you in the fragrance community.*
agreed
I found this quite cool! I remember i did some research into making my own perfumes a few years back but it didn't lead to any action, just research 🤣
Same here. Maybe we should try it!

Yes please do !!

@@SchoolOfScent to control the drops more and not let gravity do its work (if I remember correctly)

Which channels do you recommend for Perfumery videos?
Its awesome you create your own things. I want some Jager fragrance
Finally, the long awaited Bedroom Perfumery upload
Tobacco. Pipe tobacco. Vanilla. Caramel. I guess we are at the mercy of who makes the oil.
Omar this is awesome - really cool to watch and learn from your journey in this space.
This is such an interesting series. You should upload more on these lines. Lovely video. Thumbs up 👍🏼
Wow. Excellent work my friend. You are a devoted alchemist.
Great info video and I enjoyed it and I'm a big fan of Versace the dreamer I give it a 9 out of 10 and have a blessed day
So to create base, mid, and top notch is just about the time, when we mix the ingredients?
Where can I buy an abundance of these different fragrances oils in the United States?
Try perfumers Apprentice
What ratio of oil to carrier roughly? Im reading so may different ratios 😮
That was fun to watch, good job omar.
For a first try you did great it seems
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this
Wants part 2 ASAP
Nice video! would adding the alcohol help with blending in the notes more?
then it will be a nicer comparison maybe
Would you add the perfumers solvent after you've completed your notes?
I really want to start creating my own perfumes bc I get so disappointed in the overpriced perfumes that don’t smell like what I want.
Likewise.
same ive spent a small fortune on samples this month there all lacking
Production value is amazing
Where can I buy this kind of set. I also want to do this
I gotta say that was fun, informal and interesting. Very entertaining
Where do you know how much oil you need? How do you calculate that?
Enjoyed this a lot more than the standard 'top 10' videos..!
I love your channel. very informative, and funny and enterteining
Can the same thing be done to fragrance or essential oils and then later added to the product?
Isn’t the case is middle notes have to be more than both base and top notes?
Sound very cool how you think possible to make inspiring Prada l homme … my favorite would
Love if you make video about it
Keep doing these fragrance creation videos! It's interesting. Maybe you creating your own signature scent.
Do you recomend a starter kit with oils?
This is so cool and very entertaining to watch! Hope we can watch more of these uncommon content ideas
I would advise you to dilute the coumarin in some perfumers alcohol at 3% and use it this way, it is easier like this.
So interesting! Please remember that Fragrantica isn't always reliable with the notes info ;)
How many ml is that little bottle your using?
I want to see more of these videos. Great content, cheers.
Hey! i was wondering where you got your vile holder, can't find any like yours
Great video. One question : how do you clean those glass pipettes?
You don’t. You throw them after each use. 😳
@@SchoolOfScent and you cannot even reuse it for the same compound?
You throw them away if they are plastic but glass pipettes can be cleaned out.
Soak them in alcohol for a few days.
Where do you buy your essential oils?
Where can you get a kit to start making your own?
