    You can actually use fractionated coconut oil because it’s odourless, light in colour, long lasting and sprayable too.

    "Start small if you want to create your signature scent to make sure that you really like your blend:
    Create a 20 ml perfume with this mix:
    Mix 4 ml of high quality essential oils:
    • 12 drops of topnotes (e.g. 6 drops of sweet orange & 6 drops of grapefruit)
    • 24 drops of middlenotes (e.g. 18 drops of bergamot & 6 drops of geranium)
    • 44 drops of base notes (e.g. 14 drops of YlangYlang & 30 drops of Vanilla)
    Let the blend marinade for about 1 week.
    Then:
    Dilute with 16ml (sweet) almond oils as carrier oil
    +1g of vitamin E- oil (as an antioxidant)
    Leave the mix for about a month to get the best out of your perfume. :)"
    Credit goes to Elise. ❤ Thank you for sharing!!

    Just a guy randomly being suggested this video for some reason. TH-cam scoring a good suggestion again. I've been buying a lot of fragrances recently after deciding I'd like to smell better than neutral and ditching the tacky mens deodorant almost a decade ago I think it's a good call. It's nice to smell nice to yourself to others is just a benefit. Also BTW really well produced video, music is nice but subtle not loud, nice during audio and after in edit, editing, presenting, information. Comes across very professional. I honestly expected the channel to be larger in terms of viewership considering the quality of content, if that is what you're trying to do then you'll get there soon enough. Respect.

    We call these type of oil perfumes "pilgrim oil" because the pilgrims brought them to gift visiting people after visiting Meccah and Medina. I later learned they actually bought these roller perfumes after they returned 😅
    There were a lot of different smells and some of them a bit funkier or heavy. I have one orange blossom at the moment which smells divine. You apply them to inside of the wrists, rub them together and also rub to your neck area if you prefer so.
    Also as a side note, if you have herbs or flowers with strong scents, you can make infusions by putting them inside the carrier oil and after a while (about a month) you strain it for use. May help you with formulations. Although beware that some planta doesnt transfer the smell to infusion.

      Jasmine can be bought as Jasmine Sambac Absolute, it's one of the most expensive items on the market, you could mix this with Vanilla Absolute (Madagascar) which is also an incredibly expensive extraction. I can assure you B&BW does not use those items. Jasmine: (Benzyl acetate,(Sweet, fruity, floral) Hedione (citrus, jasmine), tetrahydro linalool, (Citrus) geranyl acetate (rose), indolone (moth balls, cow manure), dihydro eugenol (clove oil), Ebanol(sandalwood)) + Vanillin (vanilla).
      This wont be a perfume however, those two notes will be flat without musks, and supporting woody notes.

      Learn to make perfume and to love the art of perfumery before you decide to make it a business. Also you will need to really learn proper ratios and how to match scents, and how to dilute. Theirs a difference between essential oil perfumes and atomizer perfumes make with perfumers alcohol (biggest tip! Don't use drops, measure in grams). Goodluck!

    Question. Isn't perfume supposed to contain some kind of alcohol? Wouldn't it stain clothes if it doesn't contain alcohol?
    Also, thanks for explaining everything in detail 🌼

    • @babajaiy8246
      @babajaiy8246 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yes, typical perfumes use non denatured high proof alcohol...not carrier oil. Carrier oils are good for diluting essential oils that when one wants to apply it to the skin like a lotion for therapeutic purposes - and yes, unless the body absorbs most of it and/or it is not rubbed in enough one can get their clothes stained from a carrier oil. Although in small amounts it's not likely to be a problem. Also, if one is using a larger amount (more carrier oil less essential oil) like a therapeutic massage oil, if one leaves it on for a period of time to give time for the body to absorb - One can bath/shower with warm water only after which can remove excess oil and even the towels after to be used for drying won't get stained. Yet there will still be a slight smell good of the skin after - although not nearly as much as a perfume, but no staining of clothes.

    • @naturalvee67
      @naturalvee67 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Try using jojoba or fractionated coconut oil. Both effectively dilute the essential oils without staining clothing.

    • @lolazal1
      @lolazal1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You can rollerblading essential oil perfumes on the skin.
      Don't put them on your clothes, if you're worried about staining.

    • @BigSis9JA
      @BigSis9JA 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      if you want to make it sprayable, you’ll need to dilute with perfume, but this is for rubbing. also glycerin is very important cos it makes perfumes last longer.

    This is interesting! I think that I’ll use a minimal to moderate amount of top-note oils and larger amounts of base-notes since I would like to have more long-lasting fragrances as perfumes, bath oils, soaps, and air refreshers. Also, I’ll pretty much use more sweet-smelling scents since I lean toward those scents, but I don’t mind woody and slightly spicy ones.

    Is the brown/Amber glass just for the marinating stage, or after that too?

      Thanks Marrisa! Generally speaking natural perfumes made without alcohol at best might last between 4 - 6 hours before needed reapplication but there are a couple things you can do that should make it last a little longer. Using a higher percentage of base notes (which last the longest) will help, along with only storing in dark glass bottles and keeping away from sunlight. Hello Elise.
    I have a few questions. Can you implement alcohol and water into your fragrance? If so, does it make the fragrance better to dispense through the atomizer? Finally, will it affect the smell and performance of the fragrance adversely, or positively?

    I already have a few essential oils, missing a few other bits for now, I buy perfumes but looking at every one just to see if it is safe enough to use becomes tiresome, although I have found out more things to avoid like butylphenyl methylpropional, bht and others.
    This making your own perfume thing could be fun and you make it look easy to follow, thank you for the information in this content!

    Top Notes: Lavender
    Middle Notes: Rose, Jasmine, and Cherry Blossom
    Base: Vanilla and Ylang-ylang
    Carrier Oil: Jojoba

    I am so glad I found you channel. I tried to make my own perfume and opted for a result of a walk through a forest. What I have achieved smelled more like swamp 🙂 But I'll keep going. Today I have tried Frankincense, Sandalwood, Lotus and very little lemon and I like it so far, but it lacks something and I don't know what. I really do like the combo of Frankincense, Sandalwood and Lotus, though. The drop of lemon made it pop a bit. I will buy some more of the first three, so I can make a larger batch of the same and then experiment with other oils. Perhaps Pine, Wintergreen, Vetiver, Chamomile or something like that. It's really difficult. You video really did help me a lot and Iove your approach to homemade and experimenting. So I'll subscribe and have a look around what other alchemistic wonders I can find on your channel :-) Thank you.

    Hold on once mixing your essential oils together do you have to wait a week before mixing it with your carrier oils and then waiting ANOTHER 4 weeks? Or can I mix my essential oils and straight away mix the carrier oils and just wait the 4 weeks without the extra 1 week wait?

      @@iamblessed9089 yes. Let the essential oil blend sit for a week before mixing with your carrier oil. Then let it sit for a month after mixing the essential oils (that have sat) with your carrier oil. You won’t get the same maceration effects if you mix it right away.

      I have been making my own perfume for a long time now sometimes i use alcohol and sometimes carrier oil. I found it impossible to use spray bottles when i use carrier oil , it clogs up the hole in the sprayer so i have to use roller bottles. If i want to make spray on perfume i mix my essential oils with alcohol.
