I love that dresser! And those drawers! I was so happy to see you paint and not spray as I don’t have a sprayer. You have certainly done a good job teaching how to use a gel stain. I’m gonna try tomorrow for the first time. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Really enjoy seeing the peppercorn color and want to try it ~ love the SW Emerald trim paint on anything ~ this is a really snazzy little dresser and I love it ~ going to get with it, I hope 😊 and start a smallish 4 person round oak eating table picked up at at a used furniture country store ~ excited to try Lily Moon gel stain on top and a Opulent all in one Enchanted Forest green paint for body ~ thank you as usual for your generous sharing ~ I really appreciate all I learn from you ~ your sharing gives me encouragement ❤
I too have a fatal attraction to plastic wood. I think I’ll keep using it until it’s gone but stick to minwax wood fill for my stain projects. Great job.
Turned out beautiful! Glad the staining process worked out this time with all your research. You can actually do what’s called a “cut” of the regular shellac to be similar to seal coat. All that product actually is a “cut” of it. Just take some denatured alcohol and dilute the shellac by about 1/3 or so. This is what I do when I’m using shellac as a top coat as it’s way too thick to get an even finish as it is out of the can.
Try Durham's Rock Hard wood filler, is a powder that you add water to, you don't have to worry about it drying out and it's really good!! Love the final result, even through the struggles of the wood filler.❤
Looks beautiful. Can you tell me how to do a white wash over Annie Sloan Old Ochre? I think it is 1:1 mix of Old White with water. Do you have a video on washing that you can think of for me? Thanks Lisa.
Oh, I somewhat disagree. There is room for wood and painted pieces. Some wood is unremarkable or too damaged. Painting a piece is still better than it ending up in a landfill. But, I do love a good wood grain!
That’s not true. I prefer painted trim and crown molding painted white or cream instead of stained. Some pieces the veneer is shot making repair too expensive. Doesn’t mean the furniture should be thrown in a land fill. I can’t stand dark wood paneling unless the room has many windows….too dark and drab. When everything is special then nothing is special. All wood doesn’t deserve to be celebrated.
I love it so much ! good job
Thank you so much!!
I really don't care for MCM style furniture -- but you somehow manage to make it look great.
Thank you! 😊
Stunning and that Tricorn black is one of my favorites! Great job ❤️🇺🇸🙏🏼
Thanks! Mine too 🤩🖤
What a lovely dresser!!!! You resurrected that from the dead!!! Great job!!
Thanks so much! Indeed!

You’re welcome! You can absolutely get a great finish without a sprayer. Happy to help!

My pleasure!! Good luck on your project!
I’m definitely a fan of the black and natural wood combo. This piece came out beautifully and I absolutely love the hardware❤
Thanks so much! I'm glad I kept the original hardware. ☺
So glad I found you!! Thanks so much for all your videos! I'm in an Ivy Lane hole and don't mind it 1 bit lol!
Ha! Well, welcome! Glad you’re here 🤩🙌🏼
You did a fantastic job!!
Thank you so much!
Nice job! Im always amazed at your patience!
This job definitely tests my patience!
I love the color you chose!
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼 me too!

Right?! I keep trying it in different containers, but it just dries out too quickly. I've used Kwikwood on a few projects and I'm liking it.
Your skills have come so far since this video. Do you think you still would have painted a portion? I was drooling over the figure on the sides 😊
Thanks Patti! No, I’m sure I would have tried to save it. I definitely paint less nowadays, but I still do love painted pieces. 😊🙌🏼
@ I think your current work strikes a great balance 😊
Thanks! I hope so 😊
You’re really inspiring to watch. I am just starting to dip my toes into the furniture refinishing world and I’m glad I found your channel.
Aw, thank you. 🫶 Welcome, I’m glad you’re here.
GREAT work 😊👍🏼💚 Would prefer the bottom (and the legs) black as well though
Thanks! Hmm, I don’t know. I love to leave wood where I can 🤷♀️
Thanks!
Aw, thanks Susan!! 🤩🫶
Looks great and I love it! The combo is really nice! ❤
Thank you! I like it too!

Yes, I've read about that. I just need to try it!
Beautiful! You did a great job with what was, basically, trash.
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
Beautiful ! I also love the black paint & stain combo. Thanks for all the good refinish tips !
Thank you! It’s one of my favorite combos. 🖤🙌🏼🤩
Excellent girl love it too
Thank you! 😊

I love the smiley eyes nose mouth hardware :)
You noticed! 🙌🏼🤣
Very pretty
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful transformation. Not a mid century fan.... but love the color combo and appreciation the work skill. Nice touch liner in drawers.
Thank you very much!
Nice work. I don’t usually like painted furniture but this turned out great.
Thank you very much!
I was so excited to see this piece. I just picked mine up yesterday-not exactly like your but very similar-I was also in love with the base! ❤❤❤
It’s such a popular style. Good luck with yours! 🫶

I've used Durham's for wood grain filler, but never a deep repair. I'll check that out. Thanks!
Another great job! Very pretty!
And sadly I love the glue syringes but Amazon says no longer available 😢. Know any other source?
Thanks so much!
Oh bummer! Rockler and Woodcraft have a few with tips, but they are a little pricier. @@christinemartin-lizzul9997
love!
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
Cute
Thanks!
You did an awesome job! Love the wood and black.
Thank you!!

Hmm, I've not done a paint wash over existing paint. I've only done it over raw wood.
Love this! Where do you find the drawer liners? Thank you 😊
Thank you! Here’s the affiliate link: amzn.to/3ro9hZ7 🙌🏼☺️
Whoa! That thing was ugly as you-know-what, but you really brought it up to date!
Ha! It definitely needed some love.
Furniture should NEVER be PAINTED!! There is NO paint as beautiful as the WOOD!!!!
